The soul and the spirit are connected, but separable (Hebrews 4:12). The soul is the essence of humanity’s being; it is who we are. The spirit is the aspect of humanity that connects with God.
It is my own belief that the soul we are given at birth is one to be developed in the life we live and how we worship. I feel that the spirit is the sum total of our souls and when we pass on to be with our Creator, we reveal this beauty to our Lord. We often connect soul and spirit as one and this we should do, for one is the product created from the original gift of our Father in heaven. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to answer this question. whonu
Both Spirit and Soul connect us to what is Eternal and beyond this lifetime.
In my soul and spirit work (which works across all religions), I define Spirit as the universal truths of all life or all humankind. The most important one is love which is also harmlessness and non-violence. In various traditions it is called spiritual love, unconditional love, agape, ahimsa, and metta.
Soul is Eternal but is also unique to each individual. It is expressed in creativity, in being in the right place and time and relationships, and in service.
Spirit calls us to dance our true nature in harmony with All. Spirit work helps us to do that. Soul work helps us to know and revel in our own unique place in the dance.
When we do both, we Dance Life and become Dancers of Life and Life Dances through us. As that happens, we are a unique gift of creativity and healing from the Divine to this world.
The Hebrew word translated as being is נפש and is pronounced nephesh
A person is composed of a unity of different parts, the mind, thought, emotion, personality, body, blood, organs, etc. This word is often translated as “soul,” implying an abstract entity contained within a person. But, the Hebrew meaning of this word is “the whole of the person” and can be understood as a “being,” “person” or “entity.”
Spirit is the part that comes from & has God imprinted in it. It is the part in most people that automatically knows God exists.
Personally, soul and spirit is the same for me.
Our soul or spirit is in the form of light where human eyes cannot see. I also believe that we can train ourselves to do soul travel. This means separating our physical human body from our soul. Not an easy task but I am still trying to achieve.
The soul and the spirit overlaps in my mind as well, whatever nuances are between each other I haven't been able to grasp yet, the soul for me is the essence of the person, every person with or without worshiping of any religion, it is that unique mixture of your emotions and thoughts that represents just you...
A soul we all have it. The spirit is the presence of something extra that guides you in this life. It helps you make decisions .When your mind tells you what is right and what is wrong. The spirit and the soul work together with your brain. Then you do the right things. Other wise you can be punish according to your actions. You can feel guilt or be punish by the law.
interesting question. I believe soul is the actual form of us. it joined with us when we born. and when we die it will pass away. spirit is related to our mind, internal part. our beliefs are spiritual.
