I use to work with alot of older people. I actually saw that brand on a mans' arm. It was light blue and faded just like you would see on a side of beef or Pork. I'll never forget how degrading it felt to see that on a human being. He always tried to hide it because he didn't want to talk about it. So I could understand People thinking there is no God. But, the people freed from those death camps might disagree with you.
In my belief of God, God isn't a slave owner. God allows us freewill to choose to do evil if that is our choice. The fact that some chose to do evil is not proof one way or the other, of the existence of God. I for 1 believe.
Hi there, RKH! I am sorry that you think your picture proves that there is no god. You are certainly welcome to believe whatever you wish about this image and about the existence of God. But, as you know, it it impossible to prove a negative. In fact, this whole thread seems more suited to the Atheism & Skepticism forum rather then to this one.
However, since you asked for photographic “proof” and everyone knows that such "proof" does not exist anywhere, I can offer the following “proof” that God does exits knowing that it is just as valid as yours:
Irena Sendler, A Heroine of the Holocaust (1910 - 2008)
Irena Sendler was a remarkably heroic woman who risked her life to save thousands from Nazi death camps in Poland during WW2. The whole world can learn a lesson from her bravery. Apparently, four high school students in rural Kansas are credited with bringing her story to the attention of the world.
That is only proof that there is evil. You can't prove a negative, so you can never "proove" there is NO god. That photo could be evidence that there is a God but one that is incompetent, takes long vacations, or is hateful towards certain races and ethnicities (which many people will agree), so you haven't proven the non-existence of god, merely that He is not all-knowing, loving, and merciful to all men if he exists.
Fine, since explaining it clearly doesn't work, here:
There is proof of God. Your turn. (See how that works).
You're just perpetuating the unending God/no-god debate, but in photographs. I've already told you what your next move is, go find a starving child photo, or someone suffering from a horrible disease... then I'll get something beautiful and loving to show, then you get something horrible... and eventually we'll have to start typing instead, and then we can just cut and paste from any one of 9,000 forum threads going on now or previoiusly.
And RK Henry, God never leaves us or forsakes us if we believe in Him. I'm not unfeeling at all. I know there are people who've endured much, or lost their lives at the hands of enemies and tyrants and many other ways. And it's tempting to think He's forsaken us, even tempting to accuse Him of forsaking us, even tempting to disavow belief in Him. But then I think of Jesus, the Savior. And I'm once again humbled at what He endured for me, for you, for anyone and everyone who's willing to Love Him....
But "the gays", as you so eloquently put it, (many of them anyway) aren't willing to take up their Cross and follow Him. The Lord requires certain things from us, and living a gay lifestyle isn't something He put on anyone's agenda; turning from things like that..IS.
Do you think if you mention God and speak in your loving and Sincere tone; that you comments are somehow less evil and hateful? God loves this "Gays" just the way I am. Regardless of what you think you heard him say! Take some meds so the voices will go away.
That's the problem with Atheists and Christians. You take words from the Bible to comfirm what you want to think in the first place. You just happen to run in two different directions with it. If you read the Bible with common sense instead of an agenda; you will understand it.
The old "Out of context" argument. What do you do with this sort of rubbish, "If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
rip it out of the bible? Ignore it? Interpret it differently? (I'd like to see that!)
I have to admit that I am not a survivor of these harsh camps, but I do have friends that survived through the camps and they said that the camps were very harsh. However, my friend also said that even during that entire time period he never felt any abandonment and felt drawn even closer to God than he had ever been before. I know that might not be the proof that your looking for, but that is proof enough for me seeing his faith that carried him through the camps.
God does exist and this argument will continue until the end of time, but eventually you will see that God does exist and he loves us so much that he sent his only begotten son to share that love with us.
I am sorry to hear that your grandad died, but at the same time he also died for you so that you can espouse your point of view as well. Just something that you might want to consider that if he hadn't made that sacrifice you might not have a choice on if you want to believe or not.
However, since I live in America which I am not sure if you live in the US or not we have the freedom of religion so I can choose to believe in God which I do. I also believe that Jesus is his only begotten son. At the same time you are allowed to believe that you do not think that God exist. I just know that I love God and love his son and being able to believe in them without the worry of being persecuted or killed because of this belief in God.
Of course there will always be a back and forth on this subject. But there is always some things we will never understand. Why are there young children dying due to diseases or any other reason? Who never had the chance to live. Why do churches ask for your money, when your there worship? There are many church officials who seem to not follow the path they said they would. I just do not understand....
Many believers like to say that Atheists should prove that there is no God. Believers should know that existence has to be proved, not the non-existence. If a thing exists, it is possible to prove its existence. So...
No. Many people, from evolutionary biologists to important religious figures like Pope John Paul II, contend that the time-tested theory of evolution does not refute the presence of God. They acknowledge that evolution...
A friend and I had a conversation/discussion on this and she believes such occurrences are proof that God is real. She went on to say:If evil spirits are out there, there must be good spirits...like angels God is...
We hear often of atheists claiming that have looked for evidence of God but can find none but what would convince them? How do they go about investigating? How do they expect believers to prove it to them when it can...
