Fear is only a survival mechanism and a natural emotion. But never let your fear dictate your future. Overcome it as soon as possible, face it, defeat it, tell it you are stronger, and never, ever listen to your anxieties. To rise above the sea, one must dive in. Be brave... Be you! You are not less than anyone!
“I must say a word about fear. It is life's only true opponent. Only fear can defeat life. It is a clever, treacherous adversary, how well I know. It has no decency, respects no law or convention, shows no mercy. It goes for your weakest spot, which it finds with unnerving ease. It begins in your mind, always ... so you must fight hard to express it. You must fight hard to shine the light of words upon it. Because if you don't, if your fear becomes a wordless darkness that you avoid, perhaps even manage to forget, you open yourself to further attacks of fear because you never truly fought the opponent who defeated you.”
– Yann Martel, Life of Pi
What a great message and quote, Misbah. Thank you for sharing this.
The song, "Fear is a Liar", by Zach Williams came to mind after I read your message. I don't know if I'm allowed to share the link here, but the youtube video of him singing the song to prison inmates is powerful.
Thank you again for this great message.
Madeleine, thank you very much for your kind words and for sharing this wonderful song. I loved it. Yes, we are allowed to share the link to YouTube videos.

Glad to connect with you here.
Much Love and Blessings!
Thanks Misbah. The one I was referring to is recorded live in prison. Here's the link.

This is so great.
We must face our fears before they overcome us.
I tackled one tonight and I will keep going. I don't like the darkness.
Great quote and advice, Misbah. We do need to be brave and overcome our fears even if it isn’t easy.
Great advice Misbah. Fear is a liar and a major impediment to our success. But fear in a small way also acts as a catalyst to help us achieve our goals. For example, take an example of a high-pressure cricket match in which a batter has to hit say 70 runs in 45 balls.
In a situation, the fear that comes with defeat can either crumble the batter into defeat or may provide him that extra adrenalin rush to accomplish the target against all odds. At the end of the day it all lies within our minds- either we control fear and make it work for us or fear controls us and paralyzes us into inaction.
Misbah, this resonates with me deeply. I have fears that have impeded moving forward, keeping me in my comfort zone. I need to read this every day. Thank you for sharing. It speaks to the core of our vulnerabilities and humanness. Blessings.
Janis, thank you so much for your kind comment. You are very sweet, my friend.
I believe that when we live in fear, we actually live in doubt and insecurity. Fear silences our heart and soul's voices, preventing us from living in accordance with their guidance. It's always better to be brave and face the fears... And I know you are brave
Bundles of Blessings and Love <3
Thank you for sharing this, Misbah. I love the thought of telling fear that we are stronger. I will remember this idea!
Nice quote and nice thought. Having fear is a natural course of feeling in human beings. It always tries to demean us but we have to try to defeat it and control it. It is not easy to control it but making efforts for that itself makes it diffuse away in most of the situation. So, coming out of the grip of fear requires simply efforts and more efforts.

How do you conquer fear?

A wonderful tribute with touching words, Farah. The events of 1971 changed the face of the subcontinent and gave birth to a brand-new country. The below lines are my favorite. They provide a whole new definition of a fight without arms. These friends did not fight this war with arms. With love, they...

Farah has written a poignant poem on the horrors of war and its terrible effects on an ordinary person. She tells a touching story in which the victim dreams of the other side of the fence where there is no war and peace rules supreme. Ultimately, she hopes for better times and the ending of the...
