This question is aim at comparing people's opinion about God, do you feel that he is fair to all or has favorite whom he cares for more than others, what is your view on God?
My view is that he gets entirely too much exposure on writing sites.
Is it remotely connected with the fact that he is everything that there is?
Do you not have children, or a spouse, or... well... any type of life at all? It is okay to live your life for your religion while still having some sort of personality and individuality.
Yah. Even though that personality and individuality needs some tweaking.
Living our lives is subjective as He becomes the center of our lives and often He wants us to do things that we do not want to do.
Family is a good thing and softens the heart and wires the being for feelings and empathy. People never having experienced love nor children live a much more dismal life. Life is harder for them but families are a plus indeed.
"is God truly worthy of our worship?"
He cares as much about us worshiping Him, as you would care about an anthill worshiping you.
That's a very good question to ask the starving who pray for food and the tv evangelist who prays for mo' money.
Of course He is worthy of worship.
He is the only being in existence that is worthy of worship.
Is He fair, you ask?
He came to earth in the form of Jesus, who died for all mankind. That's more than fair; it's pure Love.
Yes, truly, He is worthy!
You failed when you mentioned you are after people's opinion of God.
Here is why. My opinion of God does not change who God is just as your opinion does not change who He is. God is God and has always been God. He will always be God regardless of our opinions.
God is indeed worthy of worship but not vain worship. He is worthy of worship in spirit and in truth.
Seems more like believers opinions of God are all that exists.
We live not just for our-self but for others as well.
Tell someone else what you believe in and you will get to know what they believe, this is one way i have come to know what you believe.
Can I assume you are talking about the bible god of all? I dont think the bible god is worthy of worship from anyone. He is petty, vindictive, jealous, unfair, cruel, and orst of all, genocidal.
Here is a better question. Are we really worthy of God's attention and all that God does to improve our lives?
I like that answer ~ We learn from every trial and success ~ I suppose this is why he balances His delivery ~ His Grace is sufficient ~ The CROSS makes Him thoroughly worth all of my worship and praise. I just believe that if I am given something tough or given something positive that I will learn or move to the next point in my life. So I believe God is fair and all loving and worthy most assuredly worthy of my devotion
It depends on your religion and beliefs. For me, yes He is worthy. But lets keep our minds open from those people who dont have any God or dont believe to any God.
God can only give guidance, mercy and love. But we have to work for the things we need, choose the right decision, etc. Its not about praying for money then KACHING! after 24 hours, you already have a money! hehe
My question to is this-could you not find every conceivable answer in the hundreds of posts before or why else would you choose to start ANOTHER thread in the religious forums just to talk about the exact same things that have been discussed over and over in the others?
If you read the note you'll have a clearer picture of the question, it is related to God being fair to all, well in your own personal opinion is he very fair to all?
I don't believe for the fact that may be this question has been ask before, doesn't in any way make this one to be any less relevant, in any case, the question and the notes/details about the question will not exactly be the same, hope we agree to disagree here.
Within the realms of many of the other threads this question has indeed been discussed but I suppose that is really here nor there. These threads tend to attract antagonisers and ignorants who feed off of the negative energy created by the opposition and that is what I find so exasperating. I do not understand the mentality that encourages such angry interaction. That sais, I always agree to disagree.
Let's you and I dump this joint and clear out of here...
To the nearest temple, to worship together?
Of course He is worthy. A being that has the ability to create us and our universe should be worshipped.
I told you...He created us. For a being to have that ability you should not only respect but worship
Because in spite of all your bad mouthing God and preaching false messages and insults that you swing about at every opportunity, if you just merely ask, your life and attitude will be changed 100% around because that is the loving ability of God toward all humans and after you realize that you now have entrance into another life you cannot imagine you will indeed be grateful and we will have rest from your bickering snide insults - oh wait that last part is why i should worship
Yes, I can see how loving your attitude is after becoming born again. Will you be apologizing for these malicious hateful words?
You, more than anyone here provides ample reasons not to worship your god.
An honest answer is still an honest answer.
As Jesus called the antagonizers of his time whited sepulchers and vipers i have refrained from using those words where applicable.
If i do not seem overly concerned about you that is because the dust has been shaken from my shoes.
Unbelievable. You would have made an excellent leader of the Crusades and the Inquisitions using Jesus to spread hatred and malice everywhere all the while being justified in your beliefs and actions.
No, Jesus would have never said the words you said about Earnest.
An honest answer? How utterly cruel and vindictive. I am aghast.
It's a very good thing we aren't allowed to tell you how we really feel about you.
Volumes could be written. Servers would crash.
Down, down guys!
What ever brotheryochanan (grandmotherly) did, let karma or GOD get him for that
The point is that will never happen. It is only through diligent efforts on our part to expose the damage religions can do to people that we'll ever see the hatred disappear and humanity be united.
Remember when secularist posted up the happiest countries in the world survey. Then I posted a Notice of 9 out of the top 10 happiest countries in the world were low to moderate in Religious beliefs. Canada was on that list, about 100 years ago our Country was 98% christian, today it's 50% christian. The worship toward happiness and reason will win out in the long haul. Grandmotherly BO (Canadian) foot is too often stuck in his own mouth and the world will change itself anyways.
Imagine.......................Happiness for every Country's Gross National product
Would’ve that be a beautiful change and for more realistic than One world Religion
No, Jesus would have never said the words you said about Earnest.
Oh Really
I cannot imagine God saying anything opposing what I said. I cannot imagine earnest in the Kingdom and that means only judgment and a lake of fire.
Luke 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
btw I can't pull the wings off a fly but I can give my assessment of a situation, for better or for worse.
have a great day
Not as exciting as war in a one World religion, yeah.
Gracefully solving problem is not for everybody, my guess it's not for you
I don't have a problem with this.
If said person had shown a different presence I would gladly have acknowledged that but honestly I can't think of one nice thing to say about the man that I can base on a fact.
And i am certainly not about to lie.
The point of a person is when they are alive. Its too late when they are dead and that's just that.
I hope everyone remembers that what they do when alive counts.
What's it like living in a onesided box with only one book to read by.?
anybody who can understand an answer want to know?
Not without experiencing life out side the box, like Gandhi for example
If a man is cloned in a lab should the clone worship the scientist?
Absolutely! In fact, I've got some cottage cheese bacteria in the refrigerator right now that is worshiping me as we speak.
The poor things. They are soon to find out what a pr**k god I can be. They've done nothing wrong. They've never hurt anybody. And yet they are soon to die a horrible death. It really is so totally unfair.
Well that's kind of a trick question isn't it? The bible says that he has beings that are in a continual state of worship and have been since they were created that sit at his throne. So if we were created to worship we would have already been because we already have a written example of what beings to worship look like when he creates them.
As far as "mankind" worshiping God, what does that mean? How did Adam worship God? I have never read where he broke out into song or danced before the lord or anything like that.
I like to think that all people are like different colors of glass, red, blue, green whatever. The light that shines through the window however is light, the same light that shines thru the blue glass is the same that shines through the green or red thus creating a rainbow of color. So in regaurds to worship, what does that look like? What I view as worship some might view as it not being worship. Beyond that that place of worship that is in the heart of man is born of redemption, we have no understanding of worshipping him for any other reason. The angels in heaven worship him for being him, they can't even fathom the idea of redemption or praising him from that stand point just as we can't understand their hearts originating point of worship.
The topic of worship is far deeper than, "Is he worth it, is he fair to all." What is fair? Do you get to judge what is fair and just? All the faliures in your life and bad choices automaticly disqualify you from being able to make that kind of judgement. Fair, we don't even know what that means.
A man is arrested for stealing bread because he is starving. The sentence is death, he stole, should he be held responsible? Perhaps the people should be held responsible for letting the man go hungry and forcing him into the situation to steal his food. Then again maybe it's the king's fault for implementing such high taxes as to bring this man so low and unable to afford a standerd of living that keeps him from stealing.....Whats fair? A uprising against the king? A plea for his release with the support of the community? Maybe death is the right answer, up hold the letter of the law and people will work harder in fear of the judgement. Is that fair? To have obedience born of fear? What is fair and who judges if that fairness is right?
I'd give Him a high-five, but that's probably about it. Then again, if He was in the mood to do some favors...
"This question is aim at comparing people's opinion about God, do you feel that he is fair to all or has favorite whom he cares for more than others, what is your view on God?"
In answer to your question - yes, God is truly worthy of our worship. I think we all forget one thing and that is He created the heavens and the earth and all that is within. therefore whether we like it or not, we are His by creation.
When we make things, we know that we have the right to do as we please with those things, right? Doesn't that privilege extend to God as well?
The Bible does say that there is coming a day when He will finish everything up on this Earth and then He will create a new Heaven and a new Earth. Our choice is we can worship Him and be a part of the new Earth or not. Both have their own consequences.
People all across the world continuously search for love. God is love and yet, generally speaking, we won't let Him love us! Weird, right?
Absolutely. And he accomplishes this by using what we call randomness and probability.
I think Adam being in Gods image and us being in Adams image means we are a little more determined to do things the hard way. Even if that means letting someone love us, be it God, our parents, spouse or friend.
While that belief is certainly up for debate, it is not a reason to worship something.
Do we expect worship from the things we make? Should the things we make worship us?
So, now you're saying there are consequences to not worshiping? Should there be consequences if the things we make do not worship us?
hahahah
totally without any thought at all.
Truly this is primitive ranting at its finest!
"Do we expect worship from the things we make?"
Christians don't make things, God does. We ask him to bless the works of our hands and when things are finished, we thank him for helping, guiding, teaching, inspiring us.
"Should the things we make worship us?"
Utterly ridiculous. Such sound reasoning lol
What have we made: Something that is not alive.
What does God make? NEW people. NEW lives.
"Should there be consequences if the things we make do not worship us?"
IF you made a new person or a persons life better you would like some thanks for that wouldn't you? Of course not lol.
"consequences to not worshiping"
consequences for not attending for dinner on time? consequences for not putting oil in your car when it needed it?
My dear, dear friend, do not be surprised that there are consequences for ALL sorts of things. Consequences to the good and consequences to the bad. Consequences in the natural and consequences in the spiritual.
Indeed. God deserves worship. He revealed Himself and reached out to us, saved us. Why give Him praise and worship? Because an all powerful, all Holy God, creator of the universe condescended, stooped down and became flesh in the personality of Jesus to save us from sin and be with Him for all eternity. This sentences might have been said many times already that it no longer has substance for some, but for me, this is stil an understatement. It really didn't get what exactly how I feel about God.
Suppose for only at this moment, we all believe in God, we all know He exists. Try not to think only for this moment that you don't believe in God. Then consider the question - "Why would He not deserve worship?"
God alone is worthy of worship.
Must be a sad, cold, lonely existence, to think this is it, there is no more, and you matter not.
Only a truly sad individual would think that there "needs" to be more.
So terribly sorry for your plight. I on the other hand in no way could ever envision our earth as a "sad, cold and lonely" place to live, nor do I not matter to family and friends, quite the contrary in fact.
Hope you come out of your funk, soon.
If God really exists, and if He is the loving father the Christian religion would have us believe, then He certainly would be deserving of our love and praise. However, it is the idea that God created mankind with the purpose of having creatures to worship Him that I have difficullty with.
its like this
You go to a football game and your team is winning and there is 10 seconds left, your main player intercepts the opposing teams throw and runs all the way to the enemy goal to win the game!
You jump up and down you hollar you get all excited and you say things like...
man did you see so and so go! what a play! that man is fantastic!
God is far more fantastic and he always shoots and scores and (hahaha) he always comes through in the last 10 seconds lol.
Look at it this way using the same example above...
Your main player wins the game and you just sit there, silent, not moving.
your face is sallow, your emotions cold. You get up and go to the car and drive home.
Did you really enjoy the game? Was your experience full?
God asks us to praise him so that our joy in Him may be experienced.
enjoy
This question is aim at comparing people's opinion about God, do you feel that he is fair to all or has favorite whom he cares for more than others, what is your view on God?
Is God fair to all?
God is God. He has passions like we do. He experienced a fleshly body. His concerns are about the next life, therefore this life must be so nothing to God, a trivial amount of time like the bible says, yet so very long to us. We see things from our perspective, not His.
God is only concerned about what people do about Him. If we starve along the way He is always there to help us. If we call out to Him, He always hears. If we desire to know Him, He will reveal Himself. This is the purpose of the God of the bible throughout the world. Is He fair? For those who come to know Him in whatever situation they were in, ask them and they will say, He is fair. To those who went through bad situations and did not know Him they will say He is unfair. Fair is subjective and objectively based.
Does God have a favorite?
Yes. Those that know Him, obviously and yet all people are favorites, even them that do not know Him, because He died for all that they might be saved. God is busy in everyones' life, coming to them at points in their life, listening to them. In their denials, rejections or acceptations of Him and then dealing to each what they want according to what they say because this is intrinsic value and not instrumental value.
What is my view on God?
God is through all things, around all things and holds all things together and this includes the cosmos, our universe and planet as well as peoples lives. He deals with us as fragile beings with intrinsic value. He wants to be in our lives so intimately and so passionately that he will strive with a person until that person has no chance of salvation and then pull the plug. Is this love? absolutely.
* PLEASE note: for those who like to pick at little areas just for argument sake, this third paragraph is meant in general terms. I realize there are things undiscussed that could use elaboration but I did not feel inclined. So if you have a question please bring it in the form of a question and not some arrogant 'oh but you are wrong broyo' statement.
Thankyou
The difficulty with worshipping God, is that as humans we need to have personal experience of something to be able to know what it is we mean by it. God cannot be sensed by the human senses in any way. He cannot be seen, heard, felt or touched, but only believed in. This is not the same as having proof that He exists. And even for those who do believe, they have different ideas of what God or the gods are.
Base on what occurs in world society no god who people proclaim to be "Loving and Forgiving" deserve any kind of worship.
