Dubbed as the super woman in the sports of surfing, Maya Gabeira is also gifted with enormous beauty and charm.
Surfing is perhaps one ot the most thrilling sports on earth. Surfers from all over the world that converge in different competitions are truly a bunch of magnificent performers as you see them unleash great Houdini escape act in subduing great and big waves to give spectators an awesome show of grace under pressure. Exciting as it seems this sports which requires great ounce of stamina and energy is actually very dangerous.

Range against wipeouts that could rip apart a surfing board, even breaks the bones of a surfer and submerge a hapless surfer into submission underneath the water for few minutes, this undaunted stunner from Brazil would do all what it takes to give other competitors some scare and tough time.
Many women stood up to take the cudgels of challenging men in this sport for the past several years, but it was only the determined and hard-nosed Gabeira that succeeded in this pursuit of greatness. Gabeira, oozing with mental toughness and sporting great fighting form is a work in progress in the sports. A tough nut to crack surfer who doesn't wilt under pressure, Gabeira continues to accomplish great feats to further boosts her growing lists of triumphs in the sports. Fierce as a lion and graceful like an impala, this beauteous Amazon already tamed the great waves of Teahuppo, Tahiti. Gabeira provided great surfing action en route to becoming the first ever woman to surf her way through one of the most longest waves or "tubes" of Teahuppo and virtually sealing a spectacular and scintillating victory there.
Gabeira's star shines even brighter as she toppled feared waves like that of Maverick's off the coast of California, a place that took the life off big-wave ace Mark Foo in 1994. She is also nominated in this year's 2009 ESPY Awards.
Gabeira went on to clinch her third Billabong XXL Big Wave Award for being the best overall performing women in the event, a decisive turning point of her young yet promising career, that paved the way for her to gain worldwide recognition and access to noted sponsors. Gabeira who finds it hard to make both ends meet during the early days of career as a surfer, is now fully-backed by ever supportive corporate sponsors. She is now paid to travel the world to compete and surf, a passion she likes the most, which is a decent yet fulfilling way of earning a living while enjoying.
