What is your favorite meal to make while camping?

We love to camp and are always looking for great meals to make on our camp stove or camp fire. I like to make a delicious stew and apple cobbler for dessert. What are your camping favorites?

Smores, and yes they are a meal on their own! I'm addicted to those tasty treats a go camping just to have them! But one of my favorites is when my entire family goes camping each year, my dad brings his (favorite and heavy) grill and makes pizza. It's always good!

We love s'mores, too! We had somewhat of a production s'more line with the kids this past weekend. They went fast! Now, pizza is not something that I've tried camping. Do you use a pizza stone on the grill?

Yes. The pizza has a special pan that it is cooked in. You can't beat homemade pizza on a camp out.

Well, that sounds delicious! I will definitely try that next time we go camping! Thanks for the suggestion!

It would be beef or deer tenderloin with bacon wrapped around it. Wrap it up in foil and slide it into the campfire. The bacon grease sizzling in the foil, along with some smoke, adds a mouth watering flavor to the meat you can't resist. Wrap up a few potatoes and throw them in, why you'll feel like your on the trail.

My camping favourite is Fish and Chips or Steak and Ale Pie at a local pub- when i'm getting away from it all I like someone else to do the hard work so I can relax.

"hobo dinner" take a meat of your choice (we usually do either a hamburger patty, Italian sausage or pork chops). combine with chopped potatoes, onions and carrots, a pinch of salt and pepper. wrap up in aluminum foil and place at the edge of the fire. rotate every couple of minutes. let this cook for 20-30 minutes then remove from the fire. let cool for a few minutes before you try to eat.

Oh, yeah! Hobo dinners! It's been a long time since I've made them camping! I need to get out of my stew "fix" and try (or retry) some of these other great suggestions! Thanks for sharing!

That sounds like a perfect camping breakfast! This past weekend we had something similar - eggs, bacon, grits, and french toast. I haven't tried making toast yet, but will add that to my list. Thanks for sharing!

I have to agree! Great smell (and taste) to get you off to a great day of camping activities or just relaxing at the campsite!
