Do you prefer to go to the same vacation spot every year, or someplace new each year?

Some people spend summers at a vacation home while others travel to new places each year.  What are the pros and cons of each type of vacation?

I think if I had the money I would probably visit a different place each year and always include St Lucia.

We have some places that we really like to go, like a particular area where we rent beach houses or the Florida Keys.  But we do like to check out other places as well.  We have gone to different areas of Disney, to Tennessee, and to various other places.  If we had the finances to do so, I would love to take my children to visit many places.  We don't have the ability to fly with 5 people though, so we are limited to where we can drive.

It's hard to beat Maui for vacationing, so we usually go back every year.  If we went somewhere new it would probably be to Europe.  I've always wanted to visit the home of my ancestors in Galway, Ireland.  For right now, though, we will keep going back to our favorite Island, and to our favorite place on the Island;  Papakea.  From this quaint smaller condo it's just a short walk to Ka'anapali Beach and the best snorkeling on the Islands at Black Rock.  It's also close to the outdoor markets and to Lahaina.  This little piece of west Maui has everything we could want in a relaxed, sun drenched, tropical vacation.  My husband's mantra is:  Stick With The Proven, and so we surely do.

My daughter and her family go every year to Maui and love it.  Last year they tried Honolulu but it was too crowded for my son-in-law so this year they went back to Maui.  I love the pictures they take.

The one time I've been to Hawaii, of all the places we went Maui had to be my favorite.  If I could go back that would be the first stop.

We like to go somewhere new for vacation every year. There are just so many places to explore and see. I think I would hate going to the same place all the time.

I haven't been on a vacation in years.  When the kids were small we really couldn't afford it, plus we have dogs that would cost a fortune to board.  Now we are older and just love being home on our property with the dogs and grandkids.

Depends on how I feel. I have returned to places that I truly enjoyed. I will be returning to South Carolina again for the winter. I loved it there and am trying to sell my home to move there. But I've done Nashville a couple of times. I go north to my parents cottage when I want to get away for a couple of days. It really depends on what I'm looking for. Hope that helps.

I like to explore new places - even without a lot of money we would go camping in diferent areas !
The benefits of going to the same place every year would be -
knowing the place before you go ,  all the restaurants, places of activity etc and these are the reasons I would hate to keep going to the same place all the time & it would get boring .
We are traveling Australia & loving it (working as we go )Visit so many beautiful places !

i've never been to the same vacation spot twice. But only because I love seeing new places.  I would definitely visit the same place if I didn't have the opportunity to see others.
I guess the great thing about going back to the same place, is you know you're going to have a fab experience.

A little bit of both... vacation to me means something new, fun, exciting... getting to know somewhere new! "going away" to me is maybe vacation from real life, but with the people i want to be around in a familiar home like place away from the realities of home... both are an amazing necessity in life i believe!
