When I was out shopping yesterday no one had on jackets here in central Texas. In fact, many many people were in shorts as we had really warm temperatures. I ran the air conditioner in my truck coming home!
A cold front we were expecting blew in early this morning and we are now having SNOW here in central Texas. I'm 47 yrs old and I have never had a white Christmas. It's really nice to see snow on Christmas eve. Of course, since the ground is still warm, we're not seeing any accumulation, but it's still fun to watch it come down.
OH KCC, I am enjoying it now here at DALLAS, I am at the porch watching it,
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Maita
Merry Christmas to you and yours PDH. I'm a couple hours south of you and it's coming down like crazy. I'm assuming Dallas had the warmth we did over the last few days too, so you're probably not seeing it stick either.
I called Fed Ex, they aren't delivering today and I'm afraid the snow is melting fast ...
I'll put a slush ball in the freezer until after the holidays for ya.
Believe it or not DHL just delivered a package to me here in WV. Perhaps they thought it was a Christmas gift (it was not, and could have waited). I felt SO bad for the DHL guy. There are almost two feet of snow on the ground here. I was glad to hear he only had one more delivery.
But anyway...if you need to send snowballs, apparently DHL is your company
Save some of that Snow for us in Central Arkansas, please! Right now we are flooded. Wettest year on record, over 80 inches of rain for the year. Would like to have a white Christmas.
Yoshi, you shouldn't have teased me with promises of snowballs you can't deliver. *sigh*
*sigh* The snow seems to have stopped and now it's just cold. Getting ready to travel (about 35 miles one way) to my aunt's house so that I can sit in a tiny house with right at 100 people. But, hey, they're family and at least we're able to get together. It's just the cramped conditions that get me down. We rented a facility last year since the family has gotten so big, but that didn't work out either. Most complained that it just didn't feel right. Guess they had too much elbow room. lol
Merry Christmas y'all! I'll be back later to check on everyone.
Congrats on the white christmas! I hope that everyone is tucked up in a homey atmosphere with lots of loved ones and lots of joyful celebrations in progress. Merry Christmas everyone! (oh me?, i'm tucked up in a beach condo with a beautiful view of the ocean and 16 relatives - only it's 40 degrees outside with a windchill of about 30 - ummmmmm, seems like i've got things a mite backwards. of course the hot toddies are flowing so at least i'm somewhat with the program) :
Enjoy your first white Christmas KCC! Have some fun, and hope it sticks so you can build some terrific snowmen and then post them in your great hub on building snowmen.
While you enjoy your snow, I'm getting ready for your storm to arrive on my doorstep up here North of the 49 on the 26. I'll be building snowmen too!
Yo ho ho and a Merry Christmas to you!!!!
Around 4:30 pm when I was heading to my aunt's house the snow came down harder and DID begin to stick. The kids were able to throw snowballs at each other. It wasn't enough to make a snowman, but it was nice. It was a great Christmas eve!
LOL@Misha.....I know, right? They're full of crap.

"I'm Dreaming of A White Christmas...May Your days Be Merry And
Bright...And May All Your Christmases Be White" (Some lyrics from Bing Crosby's "White Christmas")
Who'd ever thought you could sing that about Central Texas! Got'ta love Texas Weather though...where you can be in a jacket w/ scarf and with heater running in the morning...and could be in shorts with the air conditioner on...blasting away...by lunch. (in Houston...for sure).
Hope you enjoyed your "White Christmas" Christmas Eve...KCC BC...and PDH. We were fortunate to have some the same snow conditions in "H" town on Christmas Eve 2005...but it didn't stick around much at all for Christmas day...for us either...but was nice...especially to say we had a "White Christmas"! Don't know if the snow your experiencing can make it down here to us!? Merry Christmas!

Just curious why you can't say Merry Christmas anymore? I have never got upset when someone said Happy Hanukkah. The way I see it, someone is just wishing good times based on whatever their background is. I think it's very nice. I'm sure I'll regret the onslaught of religious debates that will...
