Oh Liz!  You have done it again!  After reading this article about those lovely areas in southern Spain, I would love to follow along in your footsteps and repeat the adventure as you have so well portrayed it in words and photos.  When more people read this, it will not be off the beaten path for too long a time.  You would make an excellent tour guide!

Thanks for being the first to showcase Liz's fantastic article in the forums, Chitrangada.

Thank you very much for posting this article, Chitrangada. Thank you also for your comments. This holiday exceeded expectations. Costa Tropical has so much to offer that the article almost wrote itself. I enjoyed virtually revisiting this beautiful part of Spain.

Thank you very much for your comment, Peggy. I hope that the Spanish tourist industry has learnt from the past, so that, as Costa Tropical becomes more popular, it can retain its charm and unique identity.
We recently did a walking tour around Shakespeare's home town, Stratford-upon-Avon. I was interested in the role of the tour guide. Unfortunately places of great interest are little sparse in our locality. I will have to stick with the travel writing instead.

A great look at this area of southern Spain.  We made it to Seville and Granada, but didn’t have time to get to the coast.  Looks wonderful, kinda regret now not getting there, but perhaps someday.  Great job, Liz.

Thanks Chitra Di for sharing Liz's beautiful article.

Liz, you've written another excellent article. You did a fantastic job. I enjoyed all of the details and photos you provided. Due to the lack of tourists during the last two years, Spain has been extremely dry. All of the places and roads appear to be deserted. I saw some tourists today in Rambla Raval and near Sagrada Familia, now that the Spanish government has lifted the requirement to wear face masks in almost all settings. I'm sure your next trip to Spain will be a lot more enjoyable without the masks. They are now recommended but not obligatory. I'm glad tourists are here again because they are the soul of Spain, and it would be so empty without them. Thanks for creating this beautiful article.

    Sending Love from Spain!

Thank you for your interesting comment, Misbah. Barcelona is one of my favourite places. I recall places like the Sagrada Familia and Las Ramblas with crowds of tourists. It has been a very strange 2 years.
We visited Portugal in January, when masks were still mandatory inside. It didn't really bother us as we were outside a lot, enjoying the nice weather.
I would love to get back to Spain. You are very fortunate being in Barcelona. It is such a lovely city. We once hired an apartment there and showed friends around the sights. It was a very successful trip.

Thank you for your comment, Bill. I remember reading your excellent article on Granada. It is still on our list of places that we really want to visit. We looked into buses from the coast, but it would have been a long journey for just a few hours there. Plus we were enjoying Costa Tropical so much that we didn't want to travel inland. Our intention is to plan a short break to Granada sometime. It seems like it deserves more than a day trip to do it justice.

Thank you for your comment, Ravirajan. I am pleased that my article has brought this part of Spain to your attention. It has so much variety to offer without the crowds that other areas attract. I hope you can visit there sometime.
