As I dropped in to explore HubPages today morning, I was greeted by the beautiful sight and then, the contents of this article by Chitrangadaji.
Marigolds are much loved for their bright look and soothing fragrance that remind us of many an auspicious occasion. I am also reminded of songs that feature the "Genda Phool" ....
    Loved reading it, Chitrangadaji.
    Thanks for sharing.

I came across this post while searching for the one you wrote on snowflakes, but I was not disappointed.

I've learned quite a bit about marigolds.

They seem to be one flower I can easily grow & I usually save the seed part to replant next season, but this year i didn't.
No worries though, I'm sure I have some left from the year before because they are usually quite abundant.

I had no idea of the significance at weddings.  That's one floeer I don't think I've ever seen at a wedding.

Thanks for teaching me a little bit more about these precious plants.

You're welcome.   I love learning about the differences in cultures and in this article I learned how important a marigold is to a marriage ceremony.
Here in America...who would have ever thought?

Here....marigolds are mostly planted in between vegetables in the garden to help deter critters & pest.
They are also additions to our flowerbeds but usually only as a filler and not the main plant.
