   (I wasn't too thrilled when they jazzed up the old, nice, Cinderella and turned her into a bimbo-looking girl with a face that isn't as pretty as the old one's.  Then they had to resurrect the old Cinderella when they made Cinderella II and III, because it was supposed to be a sequel to the old film.)

      They are thinking that beacuse this new game is coming out with Mickey Mouse that THAT Mickey Mouse who is darker looking and even a tad on the evil side lookng as well should be made into cartoons and things to better "identify" with younger generations.
      
      Yes just what we need an evil scary looking Mickey Mouse running around identifying with the younger kids. UGH!

    Disney is just desperate is all..they want to change things up in order to get back to where they were in the mid 90s. Personally, I don't think changing Mickey is going to create the buzz they are looking for...
    
    I say if Disney really wants to regain their form, they should go back to their bread and butter. Look, Pixar is great and they keep pumping out great films, but they should go back to their animation...back to the classics. Pump out at least one DISNEY animation film every year! Geez.

    Peace everyone.  No one gets hurt.  It was about the new Mickey.  I don't think Charles knew what was what just at first, and may have meant the WTF thing very offhand and not as critical as it came out. 
    
    I've said, "I hate this...I'm sick of that...", sometimes, myself, and that's all I meant, not that anyone is wrong for NOT hating this or that or being sick of it.
    
    He came off sounding critical when I think he meant to just say his opinion, without prejudice.
    
    This Mickey thing has me going, I think it's interesting in kinda of an awful way, because I liked Mickey before, not after.

    Since Mickey Mouse crtoons were at their "peak" in the 1930s/1940s, I'm getting this really bad image of Mickey "black" except for big, white clown lips like they did to portray the brothers back in the day in those cartoons... complete with saying "Mami!".
    
    Look, Disney, Dumbo happened. The scene in Peter Pan w/ the Native Americans happened. YOu seem MORE racist trying to "make up" for all of that. Get over it and stop trynna eff with Mickey. Most kids watch Dora the Explorer anyway.

    The problem with Disney is this, for a while they were the only major studio that was in hollywood the ever made big budget animated films, and did them quite well.  now as it seems disney has lost its touch since making tarzan, other movie studios have started to catch up with them and at times beat them like Dreamworks for instance.  Hence, why you see disney relying so heavily on pixar to carry their animation department.  don't get me wrong, films like Lilo and stitch, pocahontas, and chicken little were okay, but they don't even compare to disney's other classics like snow white, cinderella, sleeping beauty and many others.
    
    Therefore, disney's ideas are starting to become more watered down as it seems they've ran out of them.  Heck, they even started to do what one of their execs said they'd never do a while back, which is make sequels to their animated films.  however, it seems they've done that.  i wouldn't be surprised to see a sequel to pinochio or snow white anytime soon at the rate disney is going.  however,to answer your question, no it doesn't surprise me. 
    
    disney seems to be trying to change their image anyway with this christmas carol film, starring jim carrey.  apparently the film was so dark, kids were crying when they saw it.  disney had to release a statement saying it wasn't meant for kids.  however, my thoughts are if your going to make a film like that, then you shouldn't make it advertised on disney channel where you see nothing but cartoon shows and shows geared towards family and/or kids.

    I don't like a darker Mickey.  But look at Steamboat Mickey... he is quite a bit different than today's Mickey.  Some of the Steamboat Mickey purists probably were upset with our modern version.  If they give him one of those big anime mouths though.  Then they have gone to far!!!
