   I've never received a payout, but I gave it a shot, and it just isn't working out. I want to thank those who were kind to me while I was here. I'll soon be moving what I have here. Good luck to all those who  continue on.

      This is the first time I've seen your hubs. You have some interesting ones and I guess I'd better hurry and read them. After just finding them, I hate to see you go. Three years is a long time not to get a payout.

      Hey--- no harm in letting things simmer for awhile. 
      I took a look at your list of hubs and saw several I would like to read. (I will.)
      It took me 18 months to reach my first payout, and several for my second--- I have been here for a few years and have had a couple of years of monthly earnings, which are growing without a lot of input.
      Give it a chance to grow-- interact on comments and perhaps forums. retrieve your fork , this is a 'slow cooker', but the long term results can be delicious.

      It took me 3.5 years to get my first check and I was more exposed article-wise than you currently are. I note a couple of other long termers have jumped in here too... Also, couldn't help noticing that you are a photographer with a Pinterest account... join the dots they work for me $wise.
      As Rochelle (you should listen to her) has said... effectively you have not done yourself justice.
      Your minimum target should be 50 Hubs, your writing's excellent (and has been seen to be such) AND No One knew you were here!
      I also like what I see. I've been absent for nearly 2 years but still my hubs generated income. You stay right where you are and in July I will PM you and show you some tricks. That's just about enough time for you to get out and stretch your legs...
      oh of course... did I mention you should take some advice from Rochelle? Build your network and ask yourself, "What would Pinterest clients what to buy from my hubs?"
      Snap..... Snap.... Snap... New hubs new images especially light hearted or humorous ones with the right product mixes and you'll probably think differently about your decision..
      I hope so... Sorry to beat you up... it's bloody hard work for the first innings, but to honest with yourself you haven't brought your bat... YET      Bon Chance

      Hi Jim -- good ideas, good  writing, but I think there's just not enough of it. Generally those who get decent payouts have 100+ hubs that are kind of sitting there, 10-20 that get decent traffic, and 1-3 rock stars that have enough traffic and sales to make a dent in the monthly grocery bill.
      
      Too bad you're going but I totally understand.

      I know what you mean about time, and agree. I love to write. I don't mind thinking about editing, proofing, rewriting; even marketing and strategies to get a book prepared for the public seem natural parts of authoring. Since I joined about 10 months ago I've watched conversations go back and forth about Google, its methods, Hubpages, its changes, Google's changes, the unimportance of the Hubscore, the importance of it, and so on. While these items are of great interest to many people, I don't know that they feed directly in with a writer's gift. It seems to for some. Hubpages appears to be like a magazine that needs pretty pictures, but that advertises that creative writing is welcome. Something is off kilter.
      So, we'll see, right? My grown children tell me that "everything is about marketing" and about  search engine rank. I liked your article on publishing an ebook. I'll be following your work. Thank you for the notice you gave everyone.

   I had 41 hubs. I deleted the others. I might leave a few, but not many. Thanks for the words of encouragement, but as I grow older, time is worth more to me than money. As I see it, I've wasted too much of it already.
   I don't have any hard feelings at all toward hubpages. Sometimes things just don't work out for one reason or another, and this is one of those times.

      PawPawwrites, I came to HP with 353 articles, and assuming that some of those weren't what HP was looking for, I probably deleted a good 10-15% of them. I reworked everything else. In the 10 months since I came here, I barely made payout twice. I'm moving on too, and I can understand your need to move on. Some things don't work out, and when that happens, best to cut your losses. You're a member of my FB group, so I'll see you around. Best wishes in your new endeavor.

      I wish you well. I too, have been deleting. It seems Hubpages has went on a different journey that doesn't desire my presence on the bus. At one time I had scores that never dropped below 90. Somehow, I am at a 40 now. Payoffs have become very rare, which is odd since I joined a simple site called Article Document and have reached payout in the 1st month with 6 articles--hmmm????
      
      I own the website lancerlife and share areas where money can be made, so if you would like to visit, come on over.
      
      I also don't wish bad for Hubpages, even though it seems some wish bad for some of the original writers here.

   I really don't see how you could have the accolades you do and not have received a payout, that is a bit discouraging. Could it be in the way you executed keyword research? I think that could be one of the biggest factors here. Anyways, good luck to wherever you decide to go.

   Jim, I just read your hub about writing & self-publishing your book. I hope to write a book, too, and found it to be very helpful. I had no idea the author would be the one to do the formatting for e-books. I came here from Squidoo, where I was moderately successful -- I got a small paycheck each month. Here, though, I have yet to receive a payout. One of my most popular articles is ranked a 67. Go figure.  It has been very discouraging for me, too, and I have been moving some of my articles. Still, I hate to see you go. Not sure how much longer I will hold out waiting for that first payout. Having to wait for $50 to build up is such a bummer. Good luck with your writing in the future.

       If you have literally zero income I assume you do not have an Adsense account.  So that is a bit like complaining about the speed of a car with no engine.
       
       Either that or your settings are wrong somewhere.

    Hi Chuck -- I shared your frustration for at least a year here. I'm doing okay now, with regular payouts, but it does take a long time. Keep writing, publishing, posting on fb and pinterest and etc, and keep checking Google to monitor on your work's PageRank. The first thing I learned was that "passive income" is a lot of work.

    It took me 10 months to get to payout. I have read in forum postings that 10 months is about average. It took me a lot of hard work and a lot of hours. I'm retired and so had the time to give it. I don't know how people who have a full time job can do it. Even so HP is still just a hobby for me. You are a good writer, but it takes more than good writing to make money here. Good luck.
