I recieved an email today regarding 2 of my hubs being flagged because of adult content.

"I think your hubs are o.k., but the sexual content in them is bringing up some books from Amazon that are not  for children's eyes, like "Anal Massage for Lovers".  I'm just flagging them as adult.  I don't think children should have to see that, even though they probably see worse every day."
The hubs involved are: first time sex.   and how to stop your son growing up as a homosexual.

please let me know if my hubs are breaking the rules of hubpages and if they are I will remove them post - haste, thanks in advance.......jimmy

Jimmy, I can't speak for hubpages, but I personally think both of those hubs are great and appropriate.  The books might be a bit graphic.

Those seem fine to me.  Here is the broad definition of adult.  Adult - Nudity, sexually explicit content or links to adult or pornography sites.  There is an element of intent as well.

Jimmy, you could add your Amazon books by ASIN code instead of using a keyword.  I'm sure with a bit of research on Amazon you could find some really appropriate specific books which would be useful to readers of your hubs.

I'd love to add books by ASIN code but I'm d$%^ed if I can find it anywhere on the Amazon site.  Is it visible on the first screen that comes up about a book, or do I have to dig deeper, and what do I click?  Could it be that my browser (Opera) doesn't display it?

I thought it might be part of the URL for that book, but I've tried pasting in every permutation of the numbers that I can think of, and none of them works.

The ASIN or ISBN is on any given product page.

Ahhhh, that's probably where you're finding the problem.

ASIN is for all products (other than books) at Amazon while ISBN is the recognised system for book cataloging.

When you get to the page of the book you want scroll down until you find it or do a FIND in your browser (CTRL F) and type in ISBN and click "next" or whatever it is.

Aha!  Now that makes sense.  Thanks, darkside!

I can see where you would have gotten confused seeing that there's no mention of ISBN in the Amazon Capsule.

          But now you know! big_smile

I had no problem with the pages but I didn't care for the books...
There are times I have kids in the room with me and frankly, while I don't mind explaining what a homosexual is I would rather not have to explain anal massage.

Your "How to stop your son growing up as a homosexual" is interesting.

But I'd be more inclined to choose books that are more towards parenting and acceptance than the sexual side of it.

I find ISBN numbers easier on the Barnes&Noble site than any other!! Blessings, Earth Angel!!
