      It fell when they were filming Star Trek 6 so not too many were there. Wil Weaton, Marina Sirtis and John DeLancie were there from TNG. And from TOS there was George Takei, James Doohan, Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols. Unfortunately, the TOS cast  had to leave early. I have a photograph of George Takei's mother watching me play slots in the casino.
      
      There were also some writers and techies and Gene Roddenberry and his wife Majel Barrett were also there.
      
      I had a nice chat with John Delancie while lined up for coffee one morning. And I had a couple of words with Marina Sirtis. I watched Wil Wheaton and his brother and sister play ping pong on the deck and lose a lot of ball into the ocean. Also went on an excursion and George Takei was on it.
      
      It was a fun cruise, I'd do it again.

   Next Generation was my favorite.  When I was in Turkey, my PT colleague had reliable family members who promptly sent tapes each 6 or so episodes.  Then we'd get together and have a marathon.

          How long did your Trekkie days last?  (I loved the old Star Treks when I'd watch them with my brother, and then I really got hooked on The Next Generation.   I can't really say I was a Trekkie, though.    )   These days even when re-runs of the old Star Trek are on, I've kind of lost whatever I once had for them.     (Not long ago there was a really cheesy one with white cheesy animals?   I bet you know that one.   They lost me.    )

          Exactly, I watched Deep Space 9 for a bit but eventually got tired of it. Same with Enterprise.

    I only watched Deep Space Nine (and faithfully, but it wasn't the same).  I completely lost wherever the other one was.  I don't know - I heard about it, but it wasn't on my tv.

    Great pic UW. I've been a Trekker since I watched the original series as a kid. Thus proving that Trek has been around all my life. I am old. I'm starting to like that part.

    UW, awesome pic! I grew up watching NG with adult friends, mom and some of her friends really. I love sci-fi. Have you ever seen Babylon 5? I have only just recently discovered it and its pretty good, nice to have new sci-fi stuff to watch.

    So what was Gene Rodenberry and his wife like? His writing had such an impact on my life philosophy and my husband's. When Matt goes out to sea and sees dolphins and porpoises and all that sea life emerging from the depths of the ocean - all we email each other about is the Prime Directive.
    
    My nook reminds me of how Captain Picard would sit there and read books on a "magical" tablet.

    At that time Gene Roddenberry was in a wheelchair. I didn't get a chance to talk to them. It was funny...he was being wheeled onto the boat one day and everyone parted like the Red Sea and watched him pass by
