Do you agree that it's so much easier to "hop" than go searching for hubs to read? This is a great idea - a better way to spread hub love!
I love it too! I love randomly being taken to a hub. Super fun and hubs I would likely never find on my own. Very cool.
Hi! I am new here. I am pleased to become a part of thread.
I don't agree - the first ten hubs I hopped to were either just images, horribly written, copied and pasted drivel, or just subjects I have no interest in. I like to search by topic, read stuff by people who chat in the forums, or read the hubs by people I'm following. And as for "hub love", if you mean encouraging others to write, I'm all for that!
You get almost the same thing if you click "latest" on on the "hubs" selection. Keep in mind that the majority are new, with only a few new hubs of more experienced hubbers sprinkled in. Many of them will not stay around, or they will be "excused" or warned by the staff if their hubs are substandard.
It looks like "hopping" is only an option for people who are signed in. It gives us a chance to help sort out the better ones by commenting, voting or flagging. You can always go to the feed-- or to the hubs of your favorites.
I'm with Mega1. I'm amazed how bad the average new hub is. I think hopping might be better if it were biased towards longer hubs or towards hubs with a richer mix of capsules.
I don't have the time. I merely have time to read some, not all, of my fan's hubs !
And like mega I came across some horrible and boring hubs LOL!!
I'm not going there again!
Hey Tantrum...are you not freezing with that bikini on? Brrrrr...
Yeah, Tantrum (Tantric) - I wonder what kind of clothes you wear! I wish I had a body like that so I could loll about in my bikini, but I'm too lazy to work on it.
The great thing about the hop is that it features recently published hubs, so it gives you an idea of what current hubbers do.
Sadly I went on a 20+ hop and must have flagged at least half (spam, low quality, duplicate, and one "other" [unfinished hub]). Of the other half, a good amount of them were still rather bad so I made comments about how "great" their hubs were and how they could improve them still (and gave a few ideas as to how to do so). (If you're wondering, I start those comments by claiming they're "great" so that they don't think I'm being critical and decide to go on a down rating spree). Depending on the level of badness, I would either rate down or not at all.
But I did see a few good/great hubs, so not all is lost.
I like the hub hopping but I do agree that there are more low-quality hubs than actually good ones-although I did find a few that were very interesting and led me to follow the hubber:) I think that it is a great way to get people's work out there that may not be seen as often as some of the others. I acutally had to flag one the other day because there was nothing that went with the title:(
Since new hubs appear for hopping only in the first three days after publishing and since hopping doesn't count for traffic has any of you visited again the good hubs? Or for the hubber is mainly a loss of traffic?
I don't see much its utility so I'm curious about its use.
Thanks.
I liked it. There were some really bad hubs. I flagged a few that were just gibberish. But I found a few gems too that I voted up. And I liked the hop button. If they didn't grab my attention after a few sentences I hopped away.
Love the Hubhopping! Yes, some arent so well done. But I like that it gives you a variety rather than wading through hundreds.

Do you like the new hub hopping? What I do like about the new hub hopping is they way you can rate grammar separately from creativity. What I do not like, is we are forced to read a hub we have no interest in. It seems we can not hop forward without rating a hub. This will...

I have been hub hopping lately and I am disgusted with the incoherent garbage that I am coming across - nothing but poorly translated articles of about 400 words, usually without even any formatting. I would say that more than half of the articles I randomly encounter are clearly nothing but spun...

I decided to give hub hopping a try. I was curious to see how good (or bad) the hubs were. I found some good hubs, others not so much. After about my second or third hop, I came across a hub that read alright for the first two or three paragraphs, and then quickly devolved into some kind of...

What does everyone think of the new "Hub Hopping" process?Maybe, it's just me, but it is a little frustrating, and it was fun, but now? Not so sure about it. I may just need to adjust to it and keep at it before I make any final conclusions.

How do you like the new hub hopping pages?

I was really excited when I saw this new feature because I thought it was a great way to support, get to know and interact with other hubbers...But...for the most part, with some exceptions it is a load of garbage. When I think of all the painstaking time I take putting a hub together...and I...
