Hope y'all are fairing well! Been away much too long from here! Who knows, I may be visiting more than I have been this past few months!

How is your new job going? Well, not so new, but still new. I hope that they aren't working you to the bone!! But, as long as you are happy, then I'm happy.
You are very lucky to be able to go to the beach for lunch!! Linda must be soooo pleased and happy! How is she?? Give her a hug for me.
My new job is more than what was expected. They didn't tell me everything about it, but, I've adjusted and am in a position of power with them. They've already become dependent on me -- I've fixed and streamlined many processes and problems for them within the first month. They're really happy and really don't want to lose me. As a result, they've agreed (and have done the transition) of a portion of my work to anther person. This will take off some of the stress and provide me time to work on the parts that is suppose to be my job. I'm very happy to be there.
It's fall time here -- leaves are dropping, more like blowing, off the trees, and the weather is turning cold. I haven't found a new home yet but am in a temporary spot which, I hope, will turn permanent at the end of this month. Until then, I'm living with my summer clothes and I'm really feeling the cold!! I have no idea how I survived with a bikini in the winter!!! I must be getting old!!

I am so happy you are happy with your new job and they are treating you good. You might have to put the bikini away for a few month. I don't want you to catch cold
I will tell Linda what you said. Yes we are both very blessed to have what we have here near the Ocean and Bay and to know my job is only minutes from the Ocean makes me feel so at ease and happy.
I wish you all the luck in your new job and hope your home becomes permanent! Yes the fellow that is pretty much head of my department is out on personal reasons I think marriage problems and I have taken over and working a ton of hours and crazy am shifts. But I am only 4 miles from work so can leave 15 minutes for start time and still be early.

Beth: I'm off work temporarily and attempting to get back , but waiting for 'clearance'. My doc says "no more midnight shifts" Yay! My manager says, "no day shift available" Booooo!
So, I await a decision... I'm glad you have an awesome shift!Are you alright?? I'm extremely out of touch (literally). that's good news for no more night shifts, but so frustrating if there are no day shifts.
My position is a lot more busy than anticipated, but I've managed to off load a portion of the work to another person. They're afraid that I might quit because the job I'm doing is not what was presented in the interview, but, little do they know, it doesn't matter to me because it's been good to be challenged with new experiences. They've gone so far as to give me an office, hired an interior designer to redesign my work space, paint the office, new ergonomic chairs/computer/monitors and a whole swack of other things to keep me happy. I don't know, but I can't help but worry that they other staff will become jealous and attack me from behind my back. So far, the surgeons are extremely pleased with me. I am with them too - fabulous group to be with! A breath of fresh air from where I was before.
Tell me more about the future trip. I'll do everything I can to make it down!!

- No, I can't get up to my rooftop, haha Besides, the squirrels would be chattering in my ears! There are many trees surrounding my house and it is NOT quiet there...although, I used to climb our family's maple tree in our backyard when I was a girl and wanted to get away from it all. There were nine in our house!
Lol, the chirping of squirrels should provide a form of relaxation. (as it is nature in action) The "pulses" of their chirping could reset your mind! It helps me a lot. Please re-consider the rooftop!

We had two squirrels get into our house in the last couple of years and it was NOT pretty!

yeah, so true, eh? It's getting cold here too but I'm hanging on to my open toe shoes just to defy the weather
I haven't even hired the snow removers this year....or found my snow brush.... I wish it were still 30+ outside and sunny!!!

I had a crazy week last week -- verbally abused by a patient's family -- on more than one occasion. It was so bad, that I had to go to our family liason person, who was then abused by this family. I put my foot down and would not deal with this family..... only to run into them when they came in for the operaton..... not pleasant scenario!!!
but, this week should be good!!

How are you? Any luck with the day shifts? How are you feeling? Better I hope!! : )Hi Beth-well, I'm still off of work and trying to return. I've been to occupational health twice to get clearance. The glitch is that my doc does not want me on midnights anymore and he has written a return to work note specifying that it is his recommendation on a permanent basis. My manager did not like that and feels it's unfair to other midnight workers who also want days...kind of like taking cuts...I've explained it is for medical reasons and he basically is discussing it with the team.
There is a rumor that he may have a 'temporary' day shift position, however, ...then what? I'm not sure what my position is with taking it and then getting stuck with no other position or refusing it and being called difficult. So...I'm waiting to hear something by tomorrow.
Frankly, I am burned out and not wanting to return to the hospital's busy 12 hr shifts even if it is on a day shift, but I can't afford to retire early!!! Boy, that would be nice. I don't play the lottery, so I can't imagine winning a fortune, Take care.Hey Denise!!

Don't bother yourself with the seniority thingy -- take what you can and let them pout over it. It's their problem, not yours. You know what will happen if you take what is given -- it will turn out to be permanent because you're skilled, talented, nice to be around, pleasant and appreciative of the work. Plus, you perform at a level that they can't.
As far as buying a lottery ticket -- like my dad says: it only takes one ticket and a bucket full of luck (kinda in those words )
