   This is not a recipe, maybe a tip; a few years ago one of my nieces brought one of the several turkeys to our giant family meal . . . the turkey was cooked well and tasted fine, but the gravy was simply very special, very rich and elegant tasting. Her secret . . ? . . just a few drops of maple syrup in the otherwise standard giblet gravy - not enough to be sweet, or even mapley tasting, but just enough to give it a depth of flavor, a silky rich boost to the savoriness. I've never forgotten the first taste.

    1 pound sliced potatoes
    1 chopped onion
    1 chopped green bell pepper
    1 chopped red bell pepper
    Cream(any brand) or milk-your choice
    Salt and Pepper or I use seasoning salt
    Mix all and place in a glass baking dish.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour until potatoes are done. 
    This dish is so good for something a little different.  I make it for Thanksgiving and Christmas and it has been a big hit with my family every year.  It is almost like Scalloped Potatoes but not quite.  Happy eating!
