Ann has described and shown a very interesting project. I knew nothing about it before I read her article. I’m glad to hear that every knife was blunted before use. That must have been a major job, but it was a very important one.

Thank you for sharing the article, Chitrangada.

I found your article to be a most interesting one, Ann. What an amazing job the artist has done in creating this statue! I hope that his message does reach millions of people and prevents those that might have committed a crime with these weapons from doing just that. Thank you for sharing this important work and thank you for sharing this article, Chitrangada.

Thank you for posting this, Chitrangada. Ann has written an excellent article about this amazing sculpture. I had not heard of it before. I will certainly keep an eye out for it coming to a location near me. It packs a powerful message. Knife crime in the UK has caused many tragedies. Young lives have been sadly shortened. Ann also includes some interesting details about Gloucester cathedral.

That is an amazing piece of art, Ann.  The message is equally important.  In the U.S., sadly, I think more lives are lost due to gun violence than knives, although some of that happens too.  There are buy back programs for guns over here where people get money for voluntarily turning in guns. Thanks Chitrangada for sharing Ann's article with us.

    Ann...
This is a wonderful idea. .as long as it's just a sculpture and people aren't actually putting knifes in there where the public can access then.

We have a similar program here. ..where people have a day ti turn in weapons ( guns & such) with no questions asked.they often offer gift certificates for each one turned in
