If The Shoe Fits

Updated on March 23, 2014

Its time once again to announce our new hubnugget wannabes. This weeks categories are Business and Employment, Technology, and Family and Parenting. So make sure you read and vote but before we get to that a fairtytale for you!

Once upon a time lived a beautiful girl named Cinderella and she had the misfortune of losing her mother when she was a child and had to put up with her evil stepmother and stepsisters who only lived to make Cinderella miserable.

Cinderella was the beautiful one compared to her sisters and was basically a slave that did all the work for everyone short of wiping their bums. She also had the unpleasant chore of cleaning the fireplace when it needed it, she would get awfully dirty and smelly from all the cinders which resulted in her being called Cinderella or sometimes even Cindersmella. But she put up with it knowing that someday her prince would come and take her away from all this.

It so happened that their was a rumor going around that their was to be a ball and the handsome prince was looking for a soul mate to share his kingdom…snap Cinderella had to get the attention of the prince but she had to make it to the ball first that the prince was having for the sole purpose of finding his bride.

The stepsisters only laughed at Cinderella when she voiced her desire to attend the ball and they made fun of her and made her cry. Cinderella ran to the attic where all her little mice friends calmed her down and managed to talk her off the ledge and she felt better. She then got the great idea to call upon her fairy godmother in order to help her get to that ball.

Calling all fairy godmothers, come in all fairy godmothers, over!

Cinderella repeated this mantra until she saw a flicker of light that got brighter and brighter as it neared and it got so bright she had to shut her eyes and wince. As Cinderella opened up her eyes again she saw a cloud of gray smoke flash across and there in her presence was the whole hub nugget team in all their glory. The whole team stood there holding wands which happened to be magic or something, they told her that her fairy godmother was on "vacation' right now and was unavailable, so the higher power had called upon the team to get Cinderella to the ball.

Ladyjane1 told Cinderella to hurry up with her requests because she was late for another engagement she said, "Cinderella I cant believe they went through the trouble of getting you to the ball, what’s the catch, you don’t look special or anything"? To which Cinderella exclaimed, “hey Lady with the attitude, this is my wish and just because my fairy godmother is on vacation doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to fulfill my wish to get to the ball; so start waving that wand and conjure me up a coach with some coachmen real quick like I want to get there before the appetizers are served“.

Patty Inglish went through the rules with Cinderella and let her know that no matter how much “fun” she’s having at this ball that when that clock strikes midnight, “party over” or suffer the consequences. So she waved her wand and said,

Your Fallen tears have called to me

So here is my sweet remedy

I know what every princess needs

For her to live life happily

With... just a wave of my magical wand

Your troubles will soon be gone

With a flick of the wrist in just

a flash

You land a prince with a bunch of cash

A beautiful dress made by mice no less

Some crystal glass pumps and almost dressed

I'll make you fancy, I'll make you great

The kind of gal a prince would date

They'll write your name on the bathroom wall... For a happy ending give Cinderella a call!!!

Before she knew what was happening Cinderella saw before her a beautiful coach and a couple of coachmen to take Cinderella to the ball. Cinderella was so happy that she was finally going to meet her prince. She had heard so much about him and especially about his bank account. If things went well Cinderella would be sitting in the lap of luxury very soon.

Cinderella rode to the ball in style and when she went into the palace all eyes were on her. She was the most beautiful girl in the room and everyone couldn’t take their eyes off of her. Cinderella looked around the room, looking for her prince when she spotted him out of the corner of her left eye, (the lazy one that droops a little) and her mouth just fell to the floor. There in front of her was the most handsome royal uniform she had ever seen but attached to it was definitely something she was not prepared to handle.

The so called handsome young prince turned out to be a balding man in his mid to late 50's with a drink in his hand, and it was obvious that he had had one too many. He was slurring his words and breathing heavily into Cinderella’s face. He smelled like a brewery and before he could say another word Cinderella thought fast and said, “oh my its getting late, I have to get out of here before my clothes turn to rags and before my coach turns into a pumpkin again"….the prince saw where this was going and interjected, “”oh come now Cinderella, its only a quarter past 8 and we have the whole night ahead of us, please stay and dance and laugh with me”!

Cinderella didn’t know how to get out of this nightmare, She finally said, “okay Mr. Prince, close your eyes and count to 10 and then I will be happy to dance with you all night”. The Prince was happy to oblige and closed his eyes and started to count but when he opened his eyes he saw Cinderella running with the speed of an Olympic runner and was gone in a flash. He ran after her but she ran like a jaguar running for its prey.

His drunkenness and his age didn’t allow him to catch up to her but to his delight he found that in her rush to get away, she had left a beautiful slipper when she changed into her Nikes before she ran away. Cinderella looked back and said, “sorry sweet prince but you arent my type, and besides Lady Gaga is on the MTV awards tonight and I got to see what she’s wearing this time". “Maybe I shall see you in another fairy tale sometime” and on that note Cinderella sped away.

Update: Cinderella was last seen on celebrity rehab recounting her tales of woe and what could’ve been that led her to drink….oh Cinderella what a tangled web you weave. Oh well if the shoe fits!

The End!!

A little about the Nuggets!

Its time for another round of hubs to be voted on, there are a batch of great new writers that are making their mark on Hub pages and they have written some amazing hubs this week

The hub nugget team is comprised of some great people; myself, Ladyjane1, the amazing Patty Inglish, the beautiful creative KoffeeKlatch Gal, the amazing RedElf, the oh so very talented Enelle Lamb and the ever cheerful Ripplemaker.Every week one of us writes a hub to entertain you and to also announce the new hub nugget hubs.

The rules are very simple, in order to be nominated as a hub nugget a hubber has to have written it within the last 3 months and the new hubber has to have a hubscore of at least 75. The hub that is nominated should have a score of no less than 55 as well. Once the hubs are announced the voting begins and everyone gets a chance to be that weeks hub nugget hub. This is a great honor and can result in getting you read by other hubbers and of course noticed, which will result in a few positive things such as, getting read and encouraged to continue writing on the site.

As long as you are writing original content and you put some effort into your hubs, it is very likely that you will be very successful on Hubpages. There is also plenty of help on Hubpages in our forums. There is a forum for just about everything and if you have questions, that is the first place I would go to for answers.

Without further ado here are the nominees for this weeks hub nugget hubs. Please take the time to read and vote and try to leave a positive comment for the new arrivals here on Hubpages which will definitely make them feel welcome. And of course if you are new to Hubpages and would like to join our community click here

Happy hubbing everyone, congrats to our new writers and Cheers.

Wow, this is awesome stuff. One day I heard of this really cool site, while I was typing as usual on another site trying to create a blog topic. Learning of Hubpages was purely by chance, & so I thought to myself when I first heard of it's name, what could this Hub thing be or rather how does it all work.

I quickly hopped on google, got to searching for the Hubpages keyword, and presto I was on Hub for the first time. I was amazed & trilled to see all the interaction here on my very first day after registering & writing my very first Hub.

That was about three weeks ago, now I never could imagine that it would actually be a fairytale come true, to one day get noticed for my writing ability. "No way Jose".

Well there was a time when I won a essay scholarship contest in college, but that was like 15 years ago. The only other writing I've done in a serious manner is on blogs I guess other than on here most recently, & I figured, why not go for it.

The other thing about it is, many sites appear to give people a chance to be noticed, but majority of them fall short at doing so, & no matter how hard you try.

I have to tell my wife, about this HubNugget nomination I just received. I really feel honored to have been selected for such a prestigious award to be given on Hubpages. She read many of my best hubs & especially enjoys the comments people are leaving, I am literally blown away.

I never even knew that there was such a thing as a HubNugget till I recently logged back in this morning. Oh My! I guess I gotta start Hub writing again I only took a two day break, because I was writing non-stop on here after joining. Life is funny that way I guess, cause some things are worth going for & this one definitely is. Thanks for the Nomination.

I love these hubs, it is really a great thing you're doing here. It really brightens my day(actually my whole week!) to see that one of my hubs has been chosen. It's so great that people like you encourage new writers to keep going. It's hard to get noticed at first and some days can be discouraging so its nice to see the little guys getting some recognition. Thank you so much for the nomination and for taking the time to write this hub.
