But HP, bless their hearts, seems to be doing a pretty good job with the CPM's.
What say you?
Traffic sucks, and CPM's are great. Traffic will suck worse in a few months, and CPM's...well, CPM's could go up or could go down. Probably both at sometime between now and the end of the year.
I will applaud the Amazon program, though - I'ts earned me a few $$ that I wouldn't have gotten. And I'll give a big "Thanks" to HP for those CPM's: I think they do a pretty good job there. Certainly it has always been far better than anything Adsense ever did for me.
I've gotten Amazon clicks 10 days in a row now. But nary a sale to be found. I am saddened. I think a Twinkie is in order.
I am very happy with the new Amazon program too.
I used to get gift certificates all of the time but the taxes and shipping were so high here that I just gave them to friends in the US. Now that money goes directly into my monthly payout, so that is a real improvement.
Isn´t "bless their hearts" a passive-aggresive statement that people use when they want to say something mean? Or, do you really want to bless them?
i think of something pleasant, while i'm waiting because
i know rush hour traffic is annoying at times.
Traffic really seems to fluctuate madly at the moment, sometimes that's for the good, sometimes not.
My CPM's have been really good the past couple of days however on some of those days lots of people visit, others very very little. You would have thought with the size of the internet it would smooth out as an average but it seems not.
I tell ya...The rest of March can't get out of my life fast enough...
Ever since I had so many hubs copied, my traffic has been down. One of my hubs that was on the first page is now #60. I must say we are earning good money for the low views we are getting.
Is the copy of your hub rated on the first page or is other new stuff rated there?
I also had a hub copied on FB and it has gone down a lot. It used to be one of my best perfomers, is now in the middle. But, the copy is not rated any higher, so I just think Google shuffled the SERPs a little and my hub went down.
Maybe the only way to do better is to keep publishing new stuff?
Guess I'm just going to have to write me a viral hub. And win the contest grand prize while I'm at it. Contemplating How to Start and Run Your Own Tuna Ranch.
I am still waiting for you to publish "The Authentic Michael Jackson Alien Autopsy". I check your profile page almost every day, and plan on sharing it on FB and Pinterest.
Get viral, PDS!
You may be on to something with the Tuna Ranch. Here in Athens, at UGA, they are ranching sturgeon. Yes right here in the middle of the state, far from any ocean, they are ranching Beluga caviar. $85.00 an ounce and it has a little UGA logo on the lid. Write me a hub on how to ranch sturgeon and I'm in!
I must have been psychic when I started this thread yesterday.
Yesterday was my lowest ad-impressions count of the year. Panic mode is hereby initiated.
What happened? Where?
Please reply at my hub, keyword "prosetrainee"
However today being a different day I'm getting a good number of views??
I think it's just the randomness of the internet......
Looks like forum traffic has tanked right along with hub traffic. And so it goes... Oh, well... I'm sure my $1 in lottery tickets will come through tonight...
Mine has gone down the proverbial today, it was great for about 2 weeks now? down the pan, blah! now for a cup of hot chocolate!
I'm not having low traffic, that was last month for me. I think Google updated some things and I know Alexa has updated for the first time in 4 years regarding search terms etc. Must be a lot of web updating going on.
I'm finding a lot of traffic with Pinterest, so I'd recommend doing a lot of that.....
As for Tuna Ranches, best hub idea yet, along with the Ugly Christmas Sweater Parties I was just reading about!
The one thing I have noticed is that I have earned nothing for over four days from Amazon! for a few days it was great! Now ziltch. This never happened when I did Amazon the original way, I always earned something each day even if it was a couple of cents! Um!
I guess that is because 40% of the sales are going to Hubpages now.
Could be, but its a bit strange! another thing I noticed is that my views are going down the pan really fast now!
I'm kind of starting to wonder if the Amazon capsules I put on my hubs are responsible for my traffic issues. Impossible to tell at this point because of the Spring Break timing.
Thats true para, but you mentioned its Spring break? could be that
Awhile back I discovered one hub that immediately dropped 50% in traffic almost exactly after I added two Amazon capsules to it. I tossed those capsules outta there, but still no recovery. I now have a second hub I am suspicious of, so I've thrown one of the Amazon capsules out of there, too. Not making any sales anyway.
Google doesn't crawl your Hubs constantly - if you're seeing a drop in traffic immediately you make a change, it's highly unlikely it's connected in any way, shape or form with what you've changed.
They always did, even when we used our own account.
This is totally weird... All my top performing hubs are losing traffic. All my bottom performing hubs are gaining traffic. I'm calling my therapist.
You can borrow my therapist, I am already booking my hour! lol! my top ones seem to be okay when I look at the amount of readers, its just when its all added up at the bottom it falls to pieces!!
Maybe your account has been sabotaged. Can you think of any reason why someone might want to do that to you? Have you checked your links profile recently?
http://www.seroundtable.com/google-upda … 18313.html
I just discovered there are 63 domains out there in internet land that are linking to my profile page. I am being watched...
Went and did some hub updates to try to help things. So naturally my profile score drops. Oh, well.
My personal opinion (take it or leave it ) is that you need to focus on one or two keyphrases in your titles. All those titles with loads of " / this / that / maybe this / or the other" need re-writing IMO as they are really unfocused.
Searchers are going to get confused by them, be less likely to click through, which then results in SERP drops.
In the past six days, I've published three new Hubs. (One was chosen among the best 10 of the day in the contest.) My Hubber Score, however, has dropped by five points.
Thanks a lot, HubPages! I get the hint that you don't want me to publish any more new Hubs for a while.
This week I'm blaming everything on Spring Break. Next week I will blame everything on the Amazon capsules. Week after that I'll blame everything on me.
LOL! thanks para, I needed that laugh today!
I agree with Susana. What you need to blame are your titles. Google can't make sense of a title composed of " / this / that / maybe this / or the other"
I suspect you're trying to include all possible keywords by using such a curious format, but you're shooting yourself in the foot, because you end up with a title that reads like bad grammar to the robots (they can't see the slashes). Google hates bad grammar.
this week has been miserable for me compared to last week. I hope next weeks better!
I lack the experience to give advice but I have heard that Amazon maybe the root of all evil, or maybe not.
I don't know who to blame. But my traffic has nosedived to almost 50%!!! Never happened to me before. And I have been here for 4 years. This is very worrying. What's happening? Perhaps Writer Fox has the answer.
You need to work on other traffic sources. Find on topic forums where you can post signatures. Do high quality hubs and submit a short blurb about the high quality hubs to on topic high quality blogs. There are all kinds of ways you can get traffic besides Google. Don't depend on Google. Look for other traffic sources.

Are you happy when you see that somebody has read one of your slower hubs?I'm always presently surprised when one of my slower hubs gets a little traffic, even just one view, lol. I'm like, "Wow, somebody's actually reading that?" It's especially a hoot when it's organic traffic. Do you...

I am here for since 2-3 months but not able to generate any penny. Google refused to give me adsense account by saying I can't apply with '/' in url. I have applied for my profile url- http://hubpages.com/profile/directsaurabh . I also use blogger but it is not 6 months old. I have amazon account...

I just read a Hub about apple pie recipes that got a huge amount of comments, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that a food & cooking related hub had such response when mines barely get 3 or 4 comments and are equally good quality articles. What am I doing wrong?!?!

Hey folks. I'm a long time member here and an SEO guy by trade. I love this platform and want to support it. I've been digging into Panda data, and I have a few suggestions. Let's work together and 'right the ship!' 1) Start a brand new account today. Fresh content is what Hubpages needs. Google...

Hi Hubbers,I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article The Ultimate Guide to get more blog traffic (22 Tips inside) (must be signed in to view). What can I do to improve? Thanks!

Traffic went down like the Titanic, this happened suddenly just over a week ago. What might be the cause? Who is seeing the same? I have a dark scent that HP, which is a critical platform as well, might become a victim of the Fake News doctrines. What do you think?
