I've met several writers that I would love to meet and spend some time with. One that comes to mind is "writing guru" billybuc. I'd pick his brain for great writing tips.
Nell Rose. She's a grand lady, and a naturally talented story teller. I also like her because she is herself---without any arrogance....just quiently confident. She's also a hoot!! Dinner with her would be fun, fun and more fun. I could just see us making new friends and ending up in a bar, creating a conga line. One other thing.....she is a deeply spiritual woman, but not in any stuffy sort of way. Nope, no stuffiness for Nell!
I agree with your choice. Nell is one unique lady - just like her remarkable hubs!
There are so many! I'm become friends with several hubbers. We communicate outside of HP via email and sometimes the phone. There are too many to name, but they all know who they are. To meet them in person and spend a day or a weekend would be awesome.
This is wonderful! I want to be on your list too.
i love to interact with Peggy W, pstraubie and thelma alberts. They are great writers. I love Peggy W and Thelma recipes, so overwarming and delicious, the pictures are good enough to eat.
These ladies are among hub pages finest. I, too enjoy the recipes.
I'll be happy to sit down with Billybuck and just go over some of hubs for a review.
There are many wonderful writers on HubPages---however, one who I admire because of her brilliant mind and the way it works five light years ahead of time; fast as lightning and right on target. My choice is Paula---pfher48.
And, since I met Sunshine625—Linda---I feel blessed at the moment. And, there are many others and they know who they are if I take the time---of which I have very little to read their hubs---then I count then as being one in my list.
Bobbi Purvis
Paula is a great choice. Her personality always shines through in her comments!
There are a number of hubbers I would love to meet, including Paul and Robin Edmondson.
Some have come and gone, but Pearldiver, from New Zealand, would be someone I would love to meet.
Shinkicker has a great sense of humor and sounds like an interesting person to meet.
Another writer from many years ago that I would enjoy meeting is myownworld. She is such an intriguing person and a compassionate writer.
These are just a few. There are so many interesting people on HP. A great way to get to know people is through their writing.
Thanks for your list of incredible writers including Robin and Paul Edmundson. And yes, we can get such insight about other hubbers through their writing.
When I knew I was going to be at an event in Sacramento, I let a hubber from that area know about it.
She showed up and we had an enjoyable chat. Such an interesting experience to meet someone that you already "know" for the first time. She no longer writes here, but it was a good experience.
If you have the chance to meet up with someone whose writing you have enjoyed, I would recommend trying to do it.
My name is there! I'm doing the happy dance....lol
I have over 400 Facebook friends and more than half of those friends are from HP, so there's my answer.
Hi Cardisa. I am very very new at this and trying to get some understanding of how this works. Is the apprenticship program still availabel or something like it. How can I see some of your hubs? I appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you again
I believe the apprentice program is still available...you can find out more by emailing the team. Also, if you want to read Cardisa's hubs, just click on her name on this post and it will take you to her profile page, where all of her articles are listed. You can do this for any writer here, and even can search for them by name using the box at the top of any page.
Thank you. I'm just getting into this so I actually no nothing about it. I like writing so that is why I doing this. Ok the money helps too. I'll check out your hub as well as Cardisa. I do have one question who is this team and where can I find the email address.
Welcome to the HP community!
As Timetraveller2 says, however, I think the apprenticeship program has been put on hiatus for a while. HP will announce when it will be available to hubbers once more. You can still email team to find out more.
Thank you also for responding Im going to checkout both of your hubs I'm sure I can get some pointers. I'd like to email the team to find out if they will be bringing back the apprenticeship program. Do you know where I can get the address at and thanks again for responding. I hope you have a great day.
That's right. http://hubpages.com/faq/#apprenticeship
It would be interesting to catch up with Hubbers while traveling. I have read a lot of interesting & helpful hubs where I have thought it would be nice to meet the Author over the years.
Thanks ! Was thinking of you all while in this beautiful laid back place in the remote area of Australia !
I have met many wonderful people here. I can't begin to name those people, but some of you "old timers" will remember a man who was truly unforgettable. He was 50 Calibar, aka Dusty Tibbs.
His profile photo was him with a full beard, and had on overalls and an old beat up hat. He called himself "an old desert rat" who lived off the grid.
His bio here was just incredible, I thought.
I just searched for 50 Calibar, and there he is! Check his bio.
I was told Dusty died some time ago, but what a character he was!
Hi Mary. Dusty was as real as real can be. I miss him. Wherever he is, his love and humor are always with us.
How amazing , I have actually fantasized about meeting many of you ! How awesome , how cool ! I wouldn't want to leave You !
Now that you have posted this I would have wished to spend time with you but seemingly we are continents apart!

Do you continue to read hubs of those you follow if they don't comment on your hubs? When you have limited time do you just comment on those who regularly comment on your hubs?

Do you think HubPages should have an annual convention where hubbers could meet in person? It could be interesting to meet some of the hubbers we interact with, and perhaps even create real friendships. There could be writing workshops, etc. What is your opinion?

Do other writers keep you here? There are 10 or 15 writers that make my time here worth it. While I love writing, this site has at times been annoying, and the only reason I have stayed is because I enjoy the people. If all your favorite hubbers were suddenly gone, would you stay anyway? Would it...

What is your opinion of all the Hubs that are written as tributes to other Hubbers?I see a lot of Hubs written thanking followers and just tributes in general to them. I think that is a wonderful idea, but just wonder how they show up in Google search engines.

I had a reason to be in Sacramento , CA last weekend and emailed hubber ,Arlene V. Poma, to ask if we could get together. She made the effort to meet me there, and we had an opportunity to talk, in person, for maybe an hour or an hour and a half-- not sure, because the time flew.We talked...

Is the growth sustainable? When I arrived 4 months ago, we had 400,000 hubs. What is it now, 500,000? Does this site really benefit from people writing almost identical hubs on the same topics? When somebody arrives they are told to write, write, write, write. 30 in 30 basically. I am being a little...
