    Dear HubPages,

You know I love you guys, right?  I do.  But seriously, you have to do something about that big, bloated belly on those stretch mark ads.  I mean, dude, really?  Always, on every hub, at all times?

I can't even decide if that is a dude or a chick.  I mean, it sort of seems like a chick with the whole post-pregnancy thing going, but then, I mean, if a guy drinks enough beer and logs some quality Taco Bell drive through time... he can get that same effect if he backs off the Burrito Supremes for a month or five... maybe takes a walk or something... gets an enthusiastic lover... whatever.

Look, I'm not bagging on stretch marks at all.  They happen.  Part of life like balding or sagging boobs.  But, seriously, can't we get, like, a second sponsor to help pay the HP bills?  Maybe lower the ad prices and get two or three sponsors instead of this one.

It might just me, but, ... yeah.  Just saying.

    Much love and respect etc.,

    Shades

If it is a google ad you can specify in your adsense account that certain advertisers not be shown:

      https://www.google.com/adsense/support/ … swer=21593

This won't stop them showing on hubpages' 40% of impressions though. I have never seen this one - as I live in France, I get to see some stupid French IQ test ad which assumes I have the intelligence of a six-year-old. lol

Lol, stretch marks ads? you can't be seriously complaining, if you don't like it ignore it. i don't see how you can complain on such menial things. What stretch mark ads? i can't see them...

That's the problem.  It's placed in such a way that one can't ignore it...which of course is the idea.

I'm with you, SB.  That ad is disgusting after the first 37,000 times! Almost...I said almost...makes me pine for the yellow teeth ad. Alas, don't think there's any way to get rid of it at the moment, but I'd just be happy if it wasn't so big.

If you guys could take care of that, I'd be forever in your debt.  That thing has been on my nerves for days!

Oh, the memories are there alright, but I'll never admit or deny the presence of any stretch marks!  It's Friday night.  I missed Girl's Night in the real world this week, are we giving up on virtual girls night, too?

I agree with all who find that add disgusting.  I haven't seen it on here, though.  I more see it every bloody time I go to my Yahoo mail!  I had been thinking moving belly ads had been gross and showing up way too much, until that stretch marks thing started to show up.  Those aren't like any stretch marks I've ever seen on anyone.  They have to be painted on or something.

    icewaves,

"Lol, stretch marks ads? you can't be seriously complaining, if you don't like it ignore it."

There's no ignoring these.  These are giant ads.   smile

Do you mean me?  "LW?"  I just checked and found Disney ads.  I'm happy about that - but I'm imagining it's just a matter of time before the giant, stretch-mark, belly shows up.  It's everywhere.  smile

It's like wiping a big booger on our hubs.

People are generally nice.  If you're talking to someone and they have that little snip of snot up in their nostril... you know, kind of whitish, not really hanging out, but, somehow it managed to not come out when they blew (or picked) (lol, god, I am so immature)... anyway...  you can't really talk to them for long and take them serious.  You can for a while, but, yeah, too long and your focus gets sucked into it... like a black hole of mucous, sucking your eyes.

    So, yeah.  Anyway.

Lol. The reason why the stretch Mark ads are big with Hubpages is because mothers have the highest known % rate of traffic to Hubpages.

We all know, after childbirth females tend to have stretch marks.

See? Makes perfect sense in a marketing point of view...horrible sense to most people who see them though.

    (i don't like them ether)

Would you rather see the old wrinkled face and the smooth younger face advertising Hypoderm or something like that.  At one point you could move the cursor to erase the wrinkles. Fun until you buy into it at $105 for two bottles.

I've had the yellow teeth and stretch mark ads and wrinkls...And don't like any of them. But if they make me $$$, I'll continue to look at them gladly.

  14. Shadesbreath profile image76

I'd rather have them so I have something to write forum posts about when I'm too lazy to write a real hub but still want to write something snarky and snide.

Oh, and the "painted on stretch marks comment" coupled with the "mothers are the main HubPage" thing reminded me of this:

    http://z.hubpages.com/u/425308_f120.jpg

Which is both a father AND has stretch marks.  smile
