At this time I feel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAsV5-Hv-7U .
What is being served to you afterwards? I like it.
Due to another thread, should there be other writing sites I should be looking at?
Not really. You were right on another thread, HubPages (or at least the niche sites) are still the best place to write. If you want to have a bit of fun, you could try Steemit. It will probably go the way of Bubblews eventually, and it's a slight hassle to have to convert your earnings from virtual currency, but I think there's money to be made in the short term from posting vacuous articles. I've just been too lazy to do it.
@Marisa. Well, now. I thank you. Probably every former Bubblews person made a beeline straight there. I made around $1000 from Bubblews before the flame out.
Dropped by the site and also did a whois. Site is strange, but they are US based. Contemplating working up the energy to signup.
Looked up "blockchain-based social media platform", https://www.forbes.com/sites/steveolens … d5558e3ec1
Squirrelly site indeed. Tried to sign up, but was unable. Never even asked me for a password. Clicked email verification to no result. Indeed as much a mess as Bubble was.
Looks like if you do not have a cell phone, you are not allowed to sign up. Oh, well.
What with flash fiction not being worth earnings cr@p, thought I would post here. Yep, it's on my website with zero views.
Edit: what I would have put on Steemit.

The Antique China Shop
The bull entered the antique china shop. He began walking up and down the aisles, occasionally examining select pieces.
The shop was a mom and pop operation. Mom and pop were behind the front counter, watching.
What the bull didn’t know was that mom and pop were a pair of con artists. Virtually every item for sale in the place was counterfeit.
The bull finally selected several pieces and placed them on the table in the middle of the shop for further examination. He opened his briefcase and took out his magnifying glass and UV light. He began to study several of the pieces. There was a long pause...
Mom turned to pop. “This is not going to end well.”
Knocking down one day at a time. Wrong way to go.
Visited Indian casino yesterday. Lost. Been a year. Going to be another year before I go back. People were nice, there is hope for humanity.
Meanwhile, "Knocking down one day at a time. Wrong way to go." is a real problem for me. I do not believe in afterlife; we are as important as bacteria, i.e., nobody cares and it does not exist.
Joy and sad. I remember my young, stupid, joyous days. Whoever you are, thank you for that gift.
And then there is now. Intelligence.
-----------------------
And on Facebook.
And by the time you have it all worked out, know the how-to's and what not's, your body says, "You talkin' to ME??!!"
No explanation.

> Railroad Tracks - The U.S. Standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. That's an exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used? Because that's the way they built them in England, and English expatriates designed the U.S. Railroads.
>
>
> Why did the English build them like that? Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad tramways, and that's the gauge they used. Why did 'they' use that gauge then? Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and tools that they had used for building wagons, which used that wheel spacing.
>
> http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TsvViXiV8tQ/V … 0/RR2.jpeg
>
> Why did the wagons have that particular odd wheel spacing?
>
> Well, if they tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break on some of the old, long distance roads in England, because that's the spacing of the wheel ruts.
>
> http://4.bp.blogspot..com/-dMIq3ByhELM/VfsiDBvSaAI/AAAAAAAAUUE/01EijMm8n6k/s1600/RR3.jpg
>
> So, who built those old rutted roads? Imperial Rome built the first long distance roads in Europe (including England) for their legions. Those roads have been used ever since. And the ruts in the roads? Roman war chariots formed the initial ruts, which everyone else had to match for fear of destroying their wagon

> Since the chariots were made for Imperial Rome, they were all alike in the matter of wheel spacing. Therefore, the United States standard railroad gauge of 4 feet, 8.5 inches is derived from the original specifications for an Imperial Roman war chariot.

>
>
> In other words, bureaucracies live forever. So the next time you are handed a specification, procedure, or process, and wonder,

> Now, the twist to the story: When you see a Space Shuttle sitting on its launch pad, you will notice that there are 2 big booster rockets attached to the sides of the main fuel tank. These are solid rocket boosters, or SRBs. The SRBs are made by Thiokol at their factory in Utah.
>
> http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c2joSKkRwHY/V … 0/RR6.jpeg
>
> The engineers who designed the SRBs would have preferred to make them a bit larger, but the SRBs had to be shipped by train from the factory to the launch site. The railroad line from the factory happens to run through a tunnel in the mountains and the SRBs had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the railroad track, and the railroad track, as you now know, is about as wide as 2 horse's behinds.

> So, a major Space Shuttle design feature of what is arguably the world's most advanced transportation system was determined over 2000 years ago by the width of a horse's ass. And you thought being a horse's ass wasn't important! Now you know, Horses' Asses control almost everything. Explains a whole lot of stuff, doesn't it?
ROFLMAOPMP!! Hilarious!!!
Can't wait to share this around!!! LOL!!!
Do your articles get traffic? Then you are contributing to society.
Another long, lonely day.
That was my thought to mind, so that is what I wrote.
Right to Drive Revoked re: State of California versus 1982 Camaro, as in smog test.
And I believe, due to recent circumstances, that my expenses now exceed my income.
Basically, I am fckd.
Not immediate homeless; I have time.
I am 67 years old. Only option available is to beat the internet. Good luck with that.
Update.
Why do I care?
I don't.

Was that a Camaro he's driving?
[oops, I see it's a Challenger]

Good one.
Interesting how the memory plays tricks. I'd always remembered it as one of them got out of the car first, before the other proceeded. Odd.
Meanwhile, here's a deleted scene that takes it farther: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRkCoC2B4XU&t=5 Do full screen.
WTF??? Used to be that here in CA, vehicles past a certain age were exempt from smog testing.
???!!!
Yep, still true. Unfortunately, my car missed it by a few years. There may come a day when they change the age so that my car is included. Until then, I'm still taking care of it. You saw the pic in the article on the homepage, the car is definitely worth preserving.
Hey everyone, I'm super new. And just posted my first article. Can anyone give me some advice on how everything works? I was doing this more as a "blog" to spread our story..please read my article to know more! Thanks <3
"Interesting how the memory plays tricks. I'd always remembered it as one of them got out of the car first, before the other proceeded. Odd."
I just saw a recent interview with Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis looking back at making 'Thelma and Louise' and Sarandon said that your version was an option right up to the last days of shooting the film. So maybe you heard about it somewhere along the line? I'll see if I can find the interview (good luck with that...).
Ok, found it, one of the serendipitous fallouts of not erasing history lol.
https://youtu.be/ton1cFHKp0E
Saw that movie shortly after it came out. Thought the ending totally sucked!
Didn't like the ending either, Liz! A good movie otherwise....
Good one. Do you make your own memes? Or is that a rhetorical question? All I see online these days are GIFs. All so busy, and quite frankly they are making me dizzy...
I noticed, it's definitely a forum fine art. I made a Hub Mug (victory mug for getting Hubbie Awards votes). Anyway I made a Hub Mug meme. I'm so proud of my meme making ability, I'm sure I have it somewhere... Looking...
Better copyright it quickly. Snakes! There's gold in them thar mugs.
Ya think? I like the way it sort of morphs into Hub Hug, (accidentally because of my poor calligraphy skills).
Accidental genius is what it is! But then, you may already be a genius....
I kinda wondered how many would actually understand that one, but decided to post it anyway.
Meanwhile, Happy Thursday. A lot of real-world stuff I need to do today, but completely unknown as to whether I'll do any of it. Writing enthusiasm has also once again come to a standstill. Will Mr. Coffee do its magic? Stay tuned.
Hmm. Looks like click values have dropped dead for the next few days, back to HP Ads.
Update.
Well, so much for that idea..., "Something unexpected occurred. Please try again, or contact team@hubpages.com for assistance."
At first I read your post as "chick values. " I thought, finally!

Of course it all depends on which chick.
Just in case anyone is confused about what is being talked about.
Randomly noticed that one of my Hubs has a "100" score. I do believe that's a first.
Though honestly, I wouldn't say it's one of my best. I have lots of others I like better and would rank ahead of it. Go figure. (shrugs)
That's random. I've been noticing that one of my hubs was getting into the mid 90s. At the same time, I see 12 people have read my hub. That hub was submitted about a month ago. It's an autism hub, but after I changed the title into a question, I noticed my traffic go way up, from nothing to 12 views today. That's a first.
I shouldn't have said anything. The 100 has become a 97. I jinxed it. (
Nah, it would have happened anyway. HP likes to torture us on occasion.
I have a hub with hundreds of views today, that has a lower score than a hub with 1 view today. How are these scores figured, anyway?
Ivan:
I feel a bit silly about using it, but I have a page of allegedly "emotional words" that make titles more popular. And here is a link to an article that addresses the title question pretty thoroughly http://buzzsumo.com/blog/most-shared-headlines-study/. I don't claim to know for sure that using these emotional words or specifically designed titles works, but I will admit to trying it out.

So, you are supposed to stack as many of these wondrous, exciting, spectacular words into your titles. Sorry to copy/paste, but I couldn't locate the link to the place I got the list.
I like "ASTONISHING". With Halloween coming up and all. Hmm. How about "ASTONISHING TALES FROM THE CRYPT" ? I'm liking it...
Even better, "Astonishing chicks from the crypt."
Hahaha
So like an Archie comic book scenerio with a Boris Karloff twist perhaps.
I had the hots for Veronica at one time....
Funny, but I recently retitled one of my articles, based upon a link that purported to be an index of "most clicked-upon in search engines," I.e. gain good traffic. I selected one such phrase, and HP subsequently moved it to a niche site...but not before totally changing my brand-new, carefully selected title! So...I never got the chance to see if it worked!
OK, so we have the Veronicas trapped in the crypt. Boris is messing about, planning a complicated brain transplant, but Archie comes along just in time to rescue the damsels, and he makes a cryptic comment about their eyebrows, I mean really, what is it with their eyebrows?
Eyebrows used to be important. Kinda like boobs before they could make 'em so easily.
Now that's a big brow of some sort! Looks like a nice guy though.
http://stylecaster.com/beauty/monster-eyebrows/
Poor Frank...
I'm goin' to crash now and dream of female villains with thick eyebrows. And fake boobs.....
.

Update:
Meanwhile, I did indeed get 2 real-world, necessary items done yesterday. I might celebrate by doing 2 more today.
I too achieved a few RW items yesterday. More today if I feel like it..
The older we get, the more RW pesters us. Should be the opposite. We've earned our right to slackerdom.
Oh, goody. One RW down, one to go. And that one will be covered this afternoon.
Meanwhile, think I'll dedicate the weekend to creating another writing masterpiece.
Quote for the Day:
First things first, but not necessarily in that order.
I think our RW chore for the day involves treating/conditioning the seats in our car! The leather is starting to show creasing...not good...and some scratches! Horrors!
Try some saddle soap, Liz. It works on my face.
Saddle soap is definitely a great leather conditioner. Good for general household cleaning too, works wonders on the stove-top, fridge, any polished surface. Not sure about using it on your face though...
ROFLMAO, Randy!!
We actually have some leather conditioner made for car interiors; I think it's either a "Mother's" or "Meguiars" product. ;-)
Amazing. Another writing project has indeed come to mind, a third done already. Frankly, I don't have much hope for it trafficwise. But it's a fun one and for anyone who does happen to read it, it will truly save them much grief some inevitable day down the line. It really is too bad that Google will never let anyone see it. Neither would HP, guaranteed QAP flunk.
Now, now--chin up! Don't be so self-deprecating! I'm sure it will be fine; publish the sucker, and tell us the title, so we can at least read it...
Thanks, but alas. I know an automatic QAP flunker when I see one, too short; and it sure as heck would never see a network site. As for admiring the masterpiece, drop by my website in a couple weeks and it will be on the front page in all its glory.
Revamped my website. My website articles now actually look better than HP's articles. And that's the name of that tune.
Monday morning and we stumble into a new week (Sunday doesn't count). Nine days left to reach our respective payouts, leastwise for me. Late October and 99 degrees predicted in my town today, a WTF moment if there ever was one.
Meanwhile, already not looking forward to updating my hubs again in January to get the 2018 date; we all know why. This, as opposed to my updating around 10 website articles over the weekend without fear.
Nothing exciting to report and no memes have come to mind, but the week is young.
May we all have an outstanding week.
Overnight, the good folks at Stormspell Records sent me digital promos of their entire Fall/Winter 2017 release slate - 5 albums in total...which is awesome, cuz I was just sayin' to myself, "I'm about due to write some new stuff. ...but what the @#$% am I gonna write about?"
Their timing is especially excellent, cuz traffic to my "back catalog" has been taking a major dump for the past week or two, so a transfusion of fresh material could be just what the doctor ordered.
Now I just have to find time to listen to everything! Nice problem to have, wish it happened more often.
Looks like synchronicity is alive and well, no doubt resulting from your good karma. WTG.
Two of the five reviews are done, posted and standing in line for the DMV, I mean QAP... the other three are in varying stages of semi-completion... and the label just sent me a digital sneak peek of a sixth release, haha! If they keep sendin'em to me, I'll gladly keep writin'em up. Rock on everyone...
Hub traffic already up 50% from weekend low. Not bad, not bad at all.
Getting perturbed again with AdSense click values, like what else is new.
Meanwhile, RW obstructions as usual, but overcoming them.
Kind of want to transfer 2 articles from website to the 2 new HP medical sites. But to do all that labor and then have them rejected, not willing to take the gamble.
Quote for the Day:
Dates on Calendars Are Closer Than They Appear
Ain't it the truth...except when you're waiting for a cheque...
Been there. Done that. Doing that.
Meanwhile, my race to the payout finish line is going to be close. AdSense has turned downright stingy all of a sudden. This is particularly disturbing what with my website really starting to do good on the traffic front. For that matter, HP ain't doing that bad either.
Yesterday somehow turned into a successful improved-quality-of-life completed project day. I'm going to start doing more of those.
I wonder if HP likes my memes.
'
Update.
Snuck across when Google wasn't looking. Happy Sunday.
Just threw another $4 at the Facebook ad program. Will do another $4 next month. If the results aren't truly outstanding, I am done with them.
'
Update.
Results are already happening. If nothing else, I'm certainly going to get $4 worth of entertainment out of this.
Update.
'
Actually, I've already thought of at least two perfectly legitimate reasons for this. Having fun.
That's always been my goal, but making a few bucks in the process is enjoyable as well!
Agreed. In fact, for me, it is a necessity.
'
Results:
As far as additional earnings go, forget it. But that was expected.
However, user actions did create an unknown number of new backlinks.
Already looking forward to my November adventure.
Somehow ended up doing a Pinterest session. Finding dozens of old, obsolete hub links that needed deleting. Needless to say, this has considerably improved my spam ratio status and no doubt Pinterest is slobbering in gratitude. It's just the kind of guy I am.
Does it make my remaining links rank higher in some way? I have no idea.
Interesting how my Good Citizenship Accolade keeps appearing and disappearing. I guess HP can't make up their minds.
Yes, I noticed the Hubbie Awards have morphed and been snipped and rearranged over the years. Although its still really nice that people are being acknowledged for their work.
It was fun when Hub Pages had writing contests with real prize money...I won 50 bucks once on a random draw for my entry in a plumbing story contest, cool...
[I totally missed the point about your Good Citizen accolade, sorry...]
And just checked my profile page, I don't have a Good Citizenship accolade, did I ever? No idea.
I really liked that also. I also loved the HubMob, if you remember that.
Hi K, nope, not familiar with that phenomenon...
There was a weekly topic and we all linked together (somehow). It was fun because someone else picked the topic, lol.
Oh, yes, there's been that sort of 'challenge' writing I'm familiar with, flash fiction, poetry, many layers of topics, here on Hub Pages, but I've been offline for many Moons so I missed a lot.
LOL, I have been offline for many moons also! Glad to know I'm not alone. I just made it back on a couple of months ago.
Me too, welcome back, we are two newbie oldies lol.
So many things have changed, I'm still trying to take it all in, lol.
Well, that's life in a nutshell...waxing poetic here. Oh, ya, I'm allowed, I have a licence (hope you get that joke K, it's pretty lame).
Waxing poetic. Is that anything like a bikini wax?
@ snakeslane:
LOL "They" say that 'anything that can be put in a nutshell...probably belongs there!
@: K@ri
Oh, yes; I remember the Hub Mob! I enjoyed that, and had several articles inspired by that feature. Since it no longer exists, I've had to go back and remove the Hub Mob logo graphic from those posts (as I come across them while doing other edits! ) LOL! With 300+ hubs, I'm not about to sit down and go through all of them searching for that!
I have been doing that also. Also the 30 hubs in 30 days logos. LOL
Oh, yes--I think I tried that challenge once, and missed it by like 2 days! Whew! It was a lot of work, and I don't like that kind of pressure, so it was an experiment I wasn't going to repeat.
I came in to HP just about the time they were getting ready to retire the "Capstone" hubs...I did not qualify to enter that at the time, and by the time I did, they had ended it.
Saturday. November just around the corner. Pretty much going to be an RW combat month for me. Will continue writing, but probably won't publish anything new for the rest of the year; will have a nice inventory, come 2018. Am, however, doing website updates all over the place for the rest of the year, been neglecting that; 100+ articles to deal with. @DzyMsLizzy, the aforementioned article has been published; when there, simply click "Home". November will also be thief takedown month, I'll either be filing DMCA's, notifying Google, or having a collection agency sending out bills; this applies to both hubs and website. And then there's the medical, don't know what adventures await me there. So, other than that, should be a peaceful month. Leastwise I won't have to deal with Halloween or Thanksgiving, am ignoring both. As time permits, will be throwing in some quality of life improvements as well. An interesting November indeed.
Good luck with the updates! I'm ignoring Halloween, but hopefully I can have turkey for Thanksgiving. Happy November!
Read your WWNN article, Para, and replied... Good pointers thanks for sharing!
That was an awesome comment you left on the article, thank you! Very much appreciated!
Wow, so much has changed at HP...
Happy to find this meandering topic thread in a sea of unfamiliar

The more I look at the Q&A section of this site, the more I wish the HP Powers That Be would just close it down altogether - because actual, serious queries are rarer than hens' teeth. That part of the site has become a haven for drive-bys, scammers, spammers, and general numb-nuts.
If I were a first time visitor to the site and saw the constant stream of almost-English gibberish that clogs up that section, I'd skedaddle.
It's not even fun to troll the spammers anymore, because they never reply!
How about coming up with a truly devastating meme and posting it at http://hubpages.com/forum/category/6634
Well, Real World Chaos Day for me finally winds down. Only four more days of same to go. Saturday is my Designated Collapse Day; and not even that is guaranteed.. Whatever happened to retired people supposed to being designated/allowed professional slackers? The good news? Presumably my quality of life will indeed be "permanently" improved. This entire mess of a week is indeed voluntary on my part.
LOL! My dad had a sign above his workbench at home:
"Retired. That's why I'm so busy!"
Well, Chaos Day #2 has begun. Obstructions already abound. Reminds me of a former hub of mine having to do with entropy (now on WWNN); giving everyone a break and not posting the title.
Well, the two aforementioned obstructions turned into outright sabotage.
1. A perfectly functioning inanimate object suddenly stopped functioning for absolutely no known or discernible reason, thus sabotaging the functioning of a dozen other inanimate objects. The timing of the failure was a true case of entropy in action, almost as if it was sentient. That piece of sabotage I was able to overcome and fix.
2. The second sabotage was the result of a human who had the comprehension abilities of a chimp. Said human has absolutely no business being allowed to work in any sort of office environment. I'm going to be forced to go down there in person and find someone to talk with who has an IQ of at least 80. That's right, 80. That was all the IQ that would have been required in order to have taken care of the problem, but the person I was forced to communicate with on the phone failed to meet that criteria.
Done for the day as far as the stress stuff goes. Rest of day is routine chores and preparation for tomorrow's further adventures.
Hark! Bing actually sent me some traffic. Will wonders never cease.
Was at Walmart, getting new glasses. While waiting for appt., picked up bunch of items for purchase and put in carry cart. The glasses place stashed the carry cart and items for me while I did the glasses thing. When went to get the carry cart and items, discovered someone had stolen it. Wise person that I am, I hadn't purchased the items yet. So this is a funny story, not a sad story. Besides, 90% of shopping at Walmart is finding the items. Now that I know where said items are all at, it'll only take 10 minutes to duplicate. What a town.
Meanwhile, the week's adventures continue. Only 2-1/2 more days of it.
UGH!!! We don't "do" Wally World, for many reasons.
In the one-horse town I live in, it's either Walmart or internet. The internet is my main source for anything important, simply because of better quality, etc. As for the glasses, I'll find out in around two weeks whether I made the right decision; anyplace else would have been double the price across the board.
EEEKS! That would drive me batty! (Short trip!)
As to the internet, I'm SOL, as we got rid of credit cards years ago!
Agreed re: credit cards. I use a debit card. I only put enough in the account to handle the transaction at hand. And the financial institution is instructed to not honor overdrafts, not automatically extend credit, etc.
