Technical Issues with PayPal

    There is a technical issue with PayPal affecting payments.  We have filed a ticket with PayPal and expect to hear back from them within 24 hours.

    We take delivering payments on time very seriously and are doing all we can to resolve this as quickly as possible.

      I wasn't worried, just a bit surprised.  In all the years I've been here I've never known the team to miss paying the writers here.  My own payment just came through, so thank you so much for your efforts.

    Thanks for the word, and as far as I can recall, this is only the second time in 10 years that there has been an issue.

    Here's an update.  We still haven't heard back on the support ticket with PayPal.  It was filed last night and they said they would respond within 24 hours (so we should hear from them by 5pm pacific today).  This issue revolves around an error message from the payment api. We submitted the payments, but an error code was returned that doesn't have sufficient documentation to resolve. 

    Our engineers are working on a few alternatives.  We know that for some of you, the payments are critical.  I'm really sorry if you are finding yourself in a bind because you counted on the payment.  The team is doing everything we can to process payments as soon as possible.

    Stay tuned.  We will update this thread as we learn more.

    HubPages has a truly excellent payment record.

    As this thread attests, nobody here is worried.

      Hubpages has a much better record (from my perspective) than does PayPal. I would not hold my breath expecting anyone from PP to respond to HP within the promised 24 hours.

    I've been here ten years, and HubPages has never missed a payment in all that time. I'm always surprised when people get upset about a day or two delay.

      I understand. These are tough times and every penny counts. Of course hubpages will pay. I have had missed payments, but it is always fixed. I have been paid. It is good to foster communication. No system is perfect. But the sky is not falling.
