- Gee I feel warm and fuzzy inside. Thanks everyone for such great support. I'm just counting down the days...oops pretty soon it will be 'hours'. Oh well. I'm just bummed it comes to this when I was soooo close to actually doing the real grown up thing and working in a place that offered a pension.

Hi Joy--it is very discouraging. Why are nurses so willing to give their power away and to treat each other with such disrespect? I see it over and over and over in this business.

Sweet dreams... tomorrow will be a great day for everyone, including you, Beth. It is 4:30 a.m. in N.C. this Saturday morning. I have not been to bed yet so I am sure that I will be sleeping in...I need to follow my nephew's habit of going to bed much earlier!!

And the verdict is: I am NOT TERMINATED !! I'm so happy I could dance a jig--and I did. I wrote my next hub about the process and outcome.
Naturally, I called my daughters to let them know immediatly and they were both taken by surprise. As was I. But, of course I cannot work under this manager so I am being allowed to transfer to a different area such as hospice. One more year and counting...anything after that is icing on the cake.

Hospice is tough, though. I don't know how nurses do it. It's a very difficult job, but those nurses helped me a lot when my mother died of cancer three years ago.
I am just happy that the outcome of it all makes you happy.

About hospice--I've done hospice work before while living in Michigan. But, after I left the hospice company I later did hospice for my mother and then two years later, for my husband. So, it may be difficult, but it is an area of nursing that I do enjoy. Thanks.

I love Beth's dancing squirrel in the previous posts. Thanks for your concern. I was truly thinking it was the end and was handed a reprieve. I'm hoping Upper management is alerted to this woman's ploy. She had better not write anyone else up in the near future b/c I do know that the nurses now realize there is an appeal process and can hold her to the truth.
