@ Mark -- I'll be careful. Staying in the Nation's Capital area but heading to a spot that half city/half country. It's a bit of a drive but I think it'll be alright. I'm a bit hesitant -- I'm use to having amenities close at hand. It's been a few years since we've lived in the country. Kids are not all that happy about it. Oh well. I can't please them all! At least, not until I start earning some real $$. Have a good work day tomorrow and enjoy your days off! Send some pics of your boat!! I'd love to see her and dream and live vicariously through you while you're sailing.
@ Klara -- ha ha ha you have no idea how much "stuff" the kids and I have colllected. I focused for a couple of hours today, and have 3 boxes to give to a friend and another 3 that I am taking to a consignment store tomorrow. This is barely making a dent in the garage. Then, I have someone (cough cough) breathing down my neck about not being more organized. Oh well... he gets to move the heavy stuff, I get to pack. Tomorrow: more packing and sorting. I counted my days wrong -- I only 11 days to go before we have to be moved out completely; house cleaned; yard fixed and all the deficiencies fixed (remember... my mastiff ate the back hall? I still have yet to re-drywall and paint!!) I need some HELP!!!
I'm sure it'll all get done cause if I don't it's a penalty of $3k per month until I do. =:0 yea.... stiff fines.
Ok. I have to leave now.... peeling my fingers off the keyboard..... trying to make my eyes look away.... but wait..... I can type without looking!!

me, had to stop and go to lacrosse tonight. Last game before semi-finals on Thursday. Then, at the end of the second period, my son was pushed from behind. Not unusual, except he fell forward onto the rink (it's box lacrosse, so it's on the concrete in a hockey rink) onto his hand and his head nearly hit the floor. I knew something was wrong when he didn't bounce back up immediately. He did finally get up and he kept playing.
Well, two hours later, his whole hand and wrist and part of his forearm is swollen. I don't feel a break (or am I just wishing it isn't?). He's been iced, cleaned up and put to sleep. I'll check in the morning to see how it is. I may spend my day at emerg.... Ahg!! On a brighter note, he had 2 goals and 4 assists! My trooper!!

Love your pic! You look so mischevious (and we know that you are!!) enjoy the beach today! I wish we had the pool running already -- we hit 43C yesterday. Super hot and humid. The soccer game was not cancelled, so my son played. I didn't like the idea as I know that heat exhaustion at this temperature is high risk. They played him in goal and he barely walked off 15 minutes into the last period. He asked to come off at half time, but the play coach over rode me (he's quite the arrogant bleep!). Luckily, I told my son to walk off the field if he was feeling hot and light headed regardless of what the play coach said. He did walk off and I swear, if that coach sent him back, I would have screamed at him, taken my son home and filed a complaint. This guy puts the game before the health of the players and this is not the first time. Unfortunately, the way they tier the power of the coaches, he's above me in the chain of power. This guy gave me a frowning look, but I killed him with my look and he turned away and didn't argue. mama bear on the scene!!!

Hi Denise, hope all is well with you. It has poured, lighting like you wouldn't believe. Sky to ground since 10 am and still happening as I write this. many house in my area were hit bu lighting today, floods everywhere, Costco had no electric since 2pm and had to close store down and prepare many things so we don't lose any food. I letf at 4pm and was suppose to launch boat but I knew that would happen and at 4:45 pm my phone rings and it is the guy that was launching it and said I am on rt 9 heading to the baot ramp on the Island and I said are you crazy???
Heavy heavy rain and lighting, he said no worry Mark , Yeah no worry because he will launch the boat and get back in his truck and I am the one that has to drive the boat in that weather, Lighting included to the dock at my sisters house. You know me,,,, no problem although I was afraid and alone and soak and wet drenched but I made it safe .
Boat is floating or should say it was when I left the house It is still pouring very bad. Tornados in Toms River up the road a bit from my house. The day was and still horrible. I hope my bady is ok float at the dock.

Looks like everyone has been very busy around here. I finally made it to summer vacation, took the kids strawberry picking and threw my back out.

Late night for me. Went into work 11-4, but that didn't happen Got home at 8pm. Still no electric from that horrible storm yesterday and Had to bring in a huge generator truck to run store. Will be like this until Monday or Tuesday. Waiting on an breaker to be shipped from who knows where. Trash and cardboard pilled sky high and was in the back all day cutting cardboard to flatten out etc. I had to talk to the electrician via phone and he talked me through the process of the circuits to run trash compactor and the balers for cardboard in order to at least get rid of some stuff.
Know I am the only one that knows now what to shut off and turn on to get these things running HUmmmm. Interesting right. I have plenty of experience in the electric field.
I will work myself right up to the top you will see, SO I never got to go to the boat and poor Linda was waiting all day for 4pm when I would get home. Maybe tomorrow

I am always around because I live here. I am about 6-8 minutes for LBI called West creek. My sister has a house in Ship Bottom right on the bay and that is where I dock my boat. The house has been in the family since the early 70's.
I am off the Island out of harms way of storms etc. Let me know what week you are there and maybe we will be the first to meet Huber to Huber face to face. That is what I want to do sometime with our HubGirls. One day we will all meet.

Brant Beach get sand pumped from the Ocean to build up the beach. Watch a site that is to watch with Dredging barges out off Ship Bottom coast line and pumping that sand to Brant Beach. You must go see that!!!

I was going to go to the MIAMI HEAT parade this morning but I changed my mind. I don't like going alone to these things and my husband has to work. Plus I'd have to take the bus because parking in downtown will be expensive and stressful. Well the rain is gone and the sun is out BUT very very windy, so don't know if I will take boat out today. I still have to go there and change the mooring whips to the other side. My sister wants the right side of the dock LOL

mts-you have to find Cara's wedding hub to fully appreciate what she was talking about in her dialogue with you. The wedding was interesting with all of the rituals of the ceremony, the bride and groom were stunning, (I'm biased of course) and the reception was quite an experience!

Cara-glad to see you had a moment between your 'home' work to get on for a bit.
My news: I took my nephew for his first drive out on the public road. It was an experience. I cannot imagine him driving on an expressway/highway/ or busy city street. He talks out loud throughout in a negative manner and cusses up a storm. Driving to the credit union is a 5 minute drive down one small road to the high school (basically around the block), through the h.s. road, and onto a back road by the local gym. That was it. Somehow, we ended up over the curb and onto the credit union grass. That's when he really started cussing. Thank goodness the parking lot was almost empty. I managed to persuade him to drive us back home and park (4 feet from the curb on an angle). I'm going to buy life insurance before I ask him to drive the public streets again. Not sure this (18 yo) boy will ever pass a road test!!Hey Denise

I am not very happy today. Lin and I threw the anchor out and waited for my sister to tow me back to the dock. Other than that all is well.

How nice for you! I feel like we are in Florida with you today Klara. It's going to be pushing 100 today and it's just too hot to even hit the beach. We will be headed to the library instead!

Published a hub that has been in the vault for about a week and now I am hitting the sack . Early to work again but on a good note I am off Tuesday and wednesday t3 days from now.
Boat being worked on but do I care, right I am always working now and no time to play on my boat. Sad. I would like to work about 1 hours per day :LOL:

son has sprained wrist which is much better news than a broken one.
super hot and sunny every day -- 30+C
friends of my son helped out yesterday and it made a HUGE difference.
the walls that my mastiff ate are almost completely repaired. cut the hole, filled it with new drywall, plastered and now I am waiting for it to dry before sanding and priming. I'm now looking for door trim with matching profile to replace the ones that he ate....
what else....
ugh... have to go..... the trailer is back for another load....

Great to hear that your son is doing better. And I wish I could be there to help you clean, but that's exactly what I'm doing right now. Actually, just finished. I'm going to hit the shower and start cooking. My friends are coming over... a whole bunch! And my dog is sick of the stomach, and I am just hoping and praying that she either gets well on her own or at least hangs in there until Monday so I don't have to pay for emergency vet services. They cost a fortune! She is my baby, so I am truly worried about her.

Awwwwweee, I feel for your furbaby!!! what about charcoal? I tried that with my rottie pups once when they were sick. It worked but you have to be careful of the amount you give them. I hope she recovers quickly. Animals have a stronger immune system than humans.
