I published my first post, but went to the forum and couldn't connect it said the form doesn't exist, is it not up yet?
Angel are you going to this thread http://hubpages.com/_h4lyt9kudqi9/forum … 9?page=144 to post your link to your post?
Should be open and ready. I hope that helps.
After a little bit of consideration, I've decided to jump in on the November Challenge. I am hoping to exceed 30 this month. Since I have many irons in the fire right now, it will be hard to predict, but I think I need it for the motivation, so count me in.
Awesome, Jeffrey Neal! Tickled to death to have you join us! Come to this forum, or email me if you ever need motivation, a kick in the butt, or just to hear the clank of my little monkey cymbals.
Hi, I would like to join the Nov challenge!
I'm new to both hubpages and writing in general. I like to challenge myself to do new things. So, when I found hubpages.com about a week ago, I figured I would give it a try. I'm not sure if I can create 30 hubs in 30 days, but I'm going to try to get as close to it as possible. I have been reading through the guides, some of the forums, and even putting in my two cents where I can. I'm both excited and scared about doing this. Wow! I'm ready.
Floating Mind, Welcome to HubPages and welcome to the November Hub Challenge! You'll have fun. I'm impressed with your willingness to jump in headfirst. You'll be glad you did. It's one of the best ways to learn. If you need help, post your question here, or contact me via email. I'll be more than glad to help you.
Hey KCC / Nelle thanks for the invitation. I'll have to pass up on this one. Got some things to do before Christmas. But I'm hoping I can reach 100 hubs by December so I guess I'll produce like 25 hubs in 50 days . Good luck to you guys!
Thanks for stopping by Emievil! You'll have no problem reaching 100 hubs! Congrats on that 100 hubber score I see sitting there in your avatar! Thanks for the good luck wishes and good luck to you as well!
Okay. I'm in again.
Finished the KCC October challenge 30hubs-30days and was so worn out, i swore i'll take a whole months break!
Well, i just changed my mind
So i'm in Nelle
Thanks KCC and the october hubchallenge team for encouraging us hubbers, and 'pushing' us towards our own individual successes.
I'm so glad you joined us again. You're doing so well at this! Surely, you've seen some great benefits from it. You know Nelle and I will help you anyway we can!
I'm still sort of new here but I'd definitely like to try out the challenge as long as I'm not too late!
It's not too late! Welcome aboard! If you need help on anything, come back to this thread or email me. I'm more than willing to help you.
It's really fantastic to see the great mix of hubbers joining the hubchallenge this month. We've got a great blend of veterans and newcomers.
I know that there is going to be a lot of interesting discussions and support.
Black Friday will be a ton of fun around here with all the work that's going on.
Oh come on, jump in. We are really seeing so many successes. Take a look at the folks who are back for a second challenge in a row!
C'mon *waves cute little monkey paw* Seriously, there is no way to fail at this other than to not try at all. Join us and see how many you can do. For every one that you do, you're that much better off. We're here to help. What more can you ask for? *bats little monkey eyelashes*
It's hard leaving a niche behind. After 30+ Ebay Christmas ornament hubs, I know it's time to say goodbye until next year and work on something else. But I had such a good time... I'm resisting like crazy.
Part of the issue is that because I got sick, I have 20 odd ornament topics left undone. But in my heart I know that there isn't time before the Christmas ornament market peaks to get them up and running... so I have to move on.
Getting too attached and comforatble with a niche can kill a marketing strategy. I have my marketing plan and know what I should be working on next. (It's hard when you're the boss and the difficult employee all at once.)
I have fired myself several times but then I have had to rehire myself all over again. So much paperwork. *sigh*
It is awesome to see all these great hubbers joining in to the challenge.
Day 3 for me and I am so not feeling it. I signed up for Google Analytics and it just makes my head spin, lol. Then there is the drop off in views since finishing up my own personal challenge of 50 hubs by the 31st of October.
All this has me scratching my head this morning and wondering if it is my content or what. The last few days have only garnered page impression payouts which isn't much to say the least.
I learned a lot last month but something isn't working, I seriously need to rethink this I think.
Don't let analytics make your head spin! I have it, but rarely use it. I may start using it when I start getting hundreds of views
I haven't reach payout yet either. Someday my ship will come in, until then we need to keep writing. Have you backlinked on shetoldme? I've tried it, but my articles sit in queue for weeks.
YOU my dear, got me going on this, so I'll try and keep you motivated! Write a few articles from the heart and let go of the selling "mind". Sometimes that helps me, being creative and not out for the bucks
Don't worry Lynne. I watched my pageviews go from 1800 a day to 800 today. My Halloween hubs were kicking it....but my other stuff hasn't kicked in yet. All I can advise is to keep writing.
Edit: My revenue is down too. It'll pick up.
You guys are freaking awesome! I didn't think about the Halloween hubs as why the views might be down and I didn't write anything really geared towards Thanksgiving. Hmmm....maybe just being a bit impatient.
Jane, not giving up just trying to rethink the direction I am or was headed. I wanted to take the hub I did on the December holidays and observances and expand on several of those things but not really sure that is a great plan. I don't really try to sell anything, it is more about getting the info out there to me and if I get something back then great but if not then I am wondering what the heck went wrong because I generally get a few cents to a few dollars in clicks.
So, the main thing that I learned last month is consistency pays off. The times that I slacked definitely shows in how my views go up and down.
Ok, off the pity party and on to writing. Should I continue with the holiday and observances theme or should I do something else? Any comments?
i'm sticking with holiday stuff for now. it's what's on everyone's mind these days.
go get 'em. Lynne --- rawwrrr!
It depends on what Christmas items your selling. If you think that folks will be buying them up to December 15th or so then go for it. But stuff like Christmas decorations peak earlier. I personally think that it's getting a bit late to focus specificaly on the word Christmas.
I'll agree to that one too. I finished my Christmas for the year in October. I would love to do more, but Google's been indexing slowly for me. I've got several hubs from 7 days to now still waiting to be indexed. I needed mine in as early as possible. I still think I missed a good bit of time, but they're always be there for next year.
If you have an idea, don't not publish it. Get it out there anyway. Last year most of my Christmas hubs were in November and some of them did pretty well.
You could do hubs on stuff people may buy for gifts. I wouldn't gear specifically for Christmas, because after the holidays, they could still be searched afterwards.
Yippee, Cosette has joined the party. I can't wait to see what you have going this month.
Did you read the one I'm talking about? There is a whole plethora of ideas in that one to spin off of for hubs.
Hey Cosette welcome aboard. Yep who can resist that cute little monkey paw?
Crash and burn marketing cycles can really upset a person's tummy. Start to prepare yourselves emotionally for the post Christmas crash.
Think about what you want to sell in late December and January. And what hubs you want to be working on. It keeps your mind off the decrease in traffic and sales.
Good luck to all, I am still finishing the Oct. one But will keep plugging along!
I didn't realise the hub challenges ran over a month as opposed to any 30 days, I started 2 weeks ago and just put hubchallenge in as one of my tags. Do I have to do anything else? Cheers, Kay
If you started on the first of the month, the that 30 day challenge would end on the 30th. If you started mid-month, it'd end 30 days later into the next month. You don't have to start one day one of the month. That's how some roll into the next month.
I believe you just have to put hubchallenge as a keyword. If you're participating in the november one, use novhubchallenge.
People are timing their hubchallenge to coincide with the calendar month so it's easier to keep track of the days
Some of us are. I just find it easier. It also always allows me to go back to my account and see how many hubs I did in a given month which I know will coincide with a challenge.
For those who want to do it the regular 30/30 way, that's still available as well. Basically, you can customize your challenge anyway you want. 30 hubs in 30 days beginning whenever. Or you can hop on the monthly challenges.
Those who do the 30/30 use "hubchallenge" as a tag. Those who do the 30/Nov use the "NovHubChallenge" tag.
Sorry to make it so darn confusing.
I am up for the Nov/challenge...sounds like fun...are there any other rules than to publish 30 within 30 days? Cn we choose any subject or must all 30 be on the same subject?
Same rules as the regular 30 hubs in 30 days challenge (rules posted here: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/17849 )
You can write about anything within HubPages TOS.
Welcome aboard. We're here to help. Post your questions here or email me.
Well, I didn't get any in yesterday but already got my first one up for today. That makes 5 so far in the NovHubChallenge. How is everyone else doing?
By the way, I forgot to mention that I'm in. Working on 30 quality hubs because quality is still more important than quantity. Don't ever let the quality slip.
Am giving it a shot, I am writing about building an eBay business from the ground up... I posted my first part... I guess by the end I am hoping to increase my sales by 1000 bucks or so...
I was planning on expanding...
Wish me luck..
In memory Of Their Service
John
Well...there are a couple of options. This forum is for the November Challenge where we are writing 30 hubs in November. It's the 3rd (or 4th depending on where you are) so you can either start now and still finish Nov 30th, add a couple of days to the end, or do the regular 30 day Challenge that starts whenever you want it to and counts 30 days from that date. Your choice.
How? You just start writing 30 hubs with the best quality content you've got on any subject you want.
This all sounds very exciting. I am fairly new but think I might take up the challenge and see what I can do; I am looking forward to learning a great deal from all you experienced hubbers. Please be kind!
Welcome aboard Offadog! Nelle and I are always ready to help. There are many other hubbers who'll jump in help as well, such as Lynnechandler, Livewithrichard, Darkside, etc. If you have a question, you can post here and/or email any one of us. We'll be more than happy to help.
I think it's time I stopped sitting around reading everyone else's hubs and wrote a few of my own. So I guess I'll be trying the November Challenge. Whoopee. (And as I'm already a few days in, I guess I better get going.)
Woooo hoooo...glad to have you join us, Gilo! It'll be fun. You'll be glad you did it. We're here to help you, just holler! I look forward to your new hubs!
That's a great decision. Welcome aboard the November Challenge.
Lot of new faces here. It's getting hard to read everyone's new posts but be assured even if I didn't leave a comment I am reading and rating.
Good job so far everyone!
I cannot find the forum where we are actually posting the links, I know this isn't it..can someone give me a link or directions? I am feeling a tad inept about now....
It's at the top of the topics in this forum. Started by Darkside
Here's a link http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/18049
I'm a few days late to chime in, but I'm going to give this a try. I've been wanting to bump up my Hub count, so now is as good a time as any.
Jump on in and write up your hub. Make sure you add the tag NovHubChallenge to your tags and post a link in the 30/30 challenge links thread.
Great to have you aboard and love that little guy you have for an avi.
I need to get back to work. Been playing all afternoon as I thought I had to pick up my daughter from work but just got word her fiance is doing the honors tonight, yippee. No more making beaded candy canes must go write another hub or two now.
I want to join. Let me in! Let me in! Ahahahahahahaha!!! 2 down... 38 to go...
Jump on in needful things the more the merrier.
Just got out number 8 on day 5 of the challenge for me. If I hadn't skipped the other day it would be number 10. Oh well maybe I can catch up to that later.
I am signing up for the November Hub Challenge. I really need to get some more hubs published. I'd like to start getting an Adsense check every month instead of every other month.
Welcome aboard Bethparker! Doubling your hubs should help that a lot! Holler if you need anything!
It is great to have a challenge in November Nelle. I missed the October challenge because I was learning about online forex trading so I didn't have much time to write. Am in for the November challenge
I'm really impressed with the quantity AND the quality of the hubbers participating in the November HubChallenge! We're going to be turning some heads. Let's see some of these hubs on the front page of the "Hot" and "Best" categories!
*chatters and clanks cymbals*
I so totally new here but I'm down! I've got two written and only 28 more to go!
Welcome aboard Tora Glory! This is a great way to get started at Hubpages. Let us know how your doing each day. You can't post your links here, but you can chime in and tell us when you finished one. That's a great motivator for us all to keep going!
Be sure to let us know when you start to see traffic and maybe even an increase in the ca-ching sound in the register.
Yesterday was an extremely difficult day for me, but it was brought all into perspective with the culmination of events in Ft. Hood, TX. It seems that no matter how bad we think things are they can always be worse.
My heart and prayers go out to the families of the victims and all of our service men and women.
I hope that all of our hubbers are safe from harm.
youre right Ms Lynne, am near Ft. hood, Tx and my prayers goes to the family, such violent acts doesnt have a place in our world...
I'm about 45 minutes to an hour away from Ft. Hood. My heart goes out to all of the victims and their families as well.
Finished my fourth November challenge hub. Found a new niche that is keeping me away from Christmas ornaments.
I'm findng that people are buying seasonal items from the Ebay hubs. And clicking on the adsense ads on the non-seasonal home appliances and other stuff like that.
Hmm... don't know why they aren't buying. Or has the Amazon cookie reduction - they did away with the 24-hour shopping cart cookie - just screwed affiliates? If this keeps up, I'm inserting Ebay Products at the top of every Amazon hub where possible.

I have completed three 30 day HubChallenges. One in May, one in late July, and one during the calendar month of September. In all 3 cases, I published more than 30 hubs in 30 days. In fact, in the latest challenge I committed to publishing 45 and I did it. 45 hubs put me at...

Please let me know if I am right or wrong:1. Write hub and publish2. Post link without referral tracker to this forum3. Write 30 hubs in 30 daysMy questions: Can I share these hubs with other sites like SheToldMe, Blogger, etc?Can hubs be about any topic? (within rules of Hub Pages)Thank you!

Well, I started yesterday (Friday, 24th) but didn't get any published, although I did some researching and writing. Now I've published my first four hubs in the on-going challenge!<no links in this thread, please!>

I'm just coming back after a several year hiatus, and one of the most exciting things that started when I was here was the HubChallenge. Originally, it was 30 hubs in 30 days. Now I see it's changed to either updating your hubs or 30 hubs in 60 days. I tried the original once, and I failed...

I am creating my own 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge and there seems a broken link in regards to information on hub challenges. On the http://hubpages.com/faq/ page, for "41. What is a Hub Challenge?" if I click on the link, "in the HubPages Learning Center" which is at the end of...
