Almost have my job/employment search hub done. Started another story. This one is going to be a one and done I believe.
thats cool. hope it goes well for you dave. let me know when you publish it, so i can check it out.
I also started on one that I called Trip to 1000 forum posts. Just about the randomness of the forum and the great people that I have met here.
that sounds pretty cool. i don't think i ever read a hub about something like that before. that's a pretty good idea. i wish i thought of it. hope it goes well for you.
You have 5000 posts. You could call yours the Journey to 5000.
Basically be about the same, but just with more stuff.
lol. probably. i'll definitely think about it. although, i don't know what i'd write about you guys though. i wouldn't know where to start. although i do plan on mentioning hubpages in a future "unemployment log" journal though. lol.
CrazdWriter suggested that I needed more hubs, so I decided to branch out a little and talk about the things that I like. Comic books, movies, TV, books, hubpages.
I am still going to be working on the Zombie stories, but I think its going to work out a bit. I need to wait until I get home and then I am going to start on some of my comic book ideas.
that sounds pretty cool. i used to write comic books a lot when i was a kid. i would ask you what your ideas are, but i don't want someone to see it and steal them from you since this is online and anyone could be watching. lol. yeah, i know what you mean. i was thinking about branching out with a few other hubs besides film reviews lately.
I seriously doubt that I will make any money from hubpages, and that isn't what I am after. I would just like to have some other stuff out there that reflects who I am.
that sounds pretty cool. i can relate to that. well hopefully you'll be able write a lot more hubs then soon. i'm sure you'll do well. your a pretty good writer dave, so i have no doubts about that.
to be honest, when i first signed up here, i only came here because i thought i could make money writing film reviews. especially since i've been doing it since i was 13 for kicks, so i thought getting paid for it would be a great finally. however, since I still haven't gotten any money from here, the only thing that keeps me here are the people here in forums. lol. pretty sad, huh? lol
Thanks Steve! I just have zombies on the brain and it's hard for me to concentrate on anything but that at the moment. I am constantly coming up with short zombie stories. I took third place in the contest at Zombie Nation, so that is something. I just wish that I had your guts and the ability to write about stuff that matters. Your Unemployment Log was some powerful stuff. If I could write fiction half as well as what you did, well.... We wouldn't need hubpages.
wow, thanks dave. i'm glad you liked the unemployment log that much. to be honest, i was very close to not even publishing it as I honestly didn't think it was going to do as well as it did. However, after hearing so many positive things about it, i'm glad i decided to publish it. i'm sure your a better writer than you think man. besides, i still can't wait to hear what happens to jesse, and the gang during your zombie storyline.
I'm working on part 5 at the moment. I needed to put it aside and take a break for a day or two and then come back at it. I have several directions that I can take it. It is just trying to find the right one. For some reason some people don't like the direction part 4 went. So I need to revisit it and change a couple of things.
yeah, its usually a lot better to plan things out before you write anything. besides, you don't just publish something that isn't really planned out first. so what other ideas were you working on though?
Ghost stories, ghost hunting TV shows. Things like that. Just trying to get a feel for what has already been done.
It's all good Steve. I have been doing a bit of research in between posts. I am going to try an experiment over the next few days and see what happens. I just read a hub by ryankett and he outlines a strategy to generate more views. Now, I have had HUGE success with reddit and digg. I haven't really explored the other bookmarking sites too much. I figure I might need to. Anyway. Just an idea.
Sites for backlinking to hubpages.
I am not sure of what or how to mess with any of this. As I said. All experimental. Just trying to learn a little more about hubpages. Anyway, what's new with you?
Ok... off to court in a few mins. To testify against my ex.
Nervous as hell...
I don't think I am very much ok, but I'll cope.
Thanks - just needed that little bit of comfort
You know, if you need to talk, you can always send me an email. I can and will listen.
not really much. just got done registering for classes and while working on a few hubs right now. i was going to write a hub about the spider-man reboot and the oscars soon. hey did you know that marc webb is already signed to direct the reboot.
O.K. Now I am pissed. Spiderman is NOT a romantic comedy. WHAT the HELL is Sony thinking?
well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens from here. i think from watching his last film, I think he could definitely create a great story around peter parker's life. however, the only wrinkle about him is that I don't know of any movies that were action movies or had elements in it, that he did. therefore, it's a bit iffy on if he can get the spider-man persona right. however, i said the same thing when i first heard jon favereou was directing iron man, and that came out well. which is why we'll have to wait and see. i hope he does the film justice though.
True. He did do a fantastic job on Iron Man.
We will just have to wait and see.
im just kind of curious to see who they'll cast as spider-man now.
Me too. Watch it be somebody ridiculous like Taylor Lautner. Something like that.
if that jerk is cast, then i can tell you right now, im boycotting that film completely. i don't even care if someone requests me to watch it either. lol.
anyway, it nice talking to you dave. i gtg. you take it easy.
You too Steve. I will talk to you later. Have a good night.
pretty good. can't complain. just working on a few things right now. so you just get off work?

This is likely A LOT to "ask" but if you have a few minutes please take a look. I've been having fun here on Hubpages for nineteen months and have recently decided to take the productivity level more seriously. I've started designing my own website and intend to start writing more and...

I've just received word that I've qualified to receive some "assured long-term" benefits for disability - on an application process that took over 2 years and many individuals/professionals as advocates' assistance. This means that I can evade the constant worry of homelessness, so long...

Wrote a new hub this afternoon, just for fun. It is topical, relating to a new news item today. Would someone like to read it in it's entirety and comment, please? Pretty please? I don't usually do 'satire' if that is what it could be described as, should I leave it as it is, or go a bit further...

I have two hubs up so far. I am not entirely sure what a great ranking would be considering that they are quite new, but they are both above 60. Is this pretty good for newly established hubs? I would appreciate any feedback on my work and what can be done to improve for the future, as well as...
