Hello everyone, I've just come back from a few days in the mountains to find that once again you have outdone yourselves and we have another very successful HubMob with almost 60 Hubs on Charities. Thank you to every single one of you who took part in last week's HubMob.
As I came back bursting with energy from my skiing trip I decided that we should mob about a fun topic: winter sports. This is the week to write about all those amazing and beautiful winter sport regions, winter sport events and activities. It is the time to recall the fun that you used to have when you were a child making those snowmen and having snow fights. Come on, don't get too cold about it, and let's start writing about winter fun!
Some ideas for a HubMob hub on Winter sports are:
Snowboarding Skiing resorts Skiing equipment Winter outwear Winter sports Sledding Ice skating Snowmobiling Snow blading Building snow figures Ice fishing Ice swimming Ice hockey Winter Olympic games
To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:
1. YOU MUST START YOUR HUB CLICKING THIS LINK. Choose the Answer the Request green button. Choose the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT option.
2. Choose a relevant title for your Hub to get a good ranking in the search engines, AVOID starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"
3. If necessary change the category on your hub to best suit your topic.
We currently have 55 Charities and Community Service HubMob hubs, and 2 HubMob roundup hubs! I'm sure there will be a few more. I know I have 1 more in the works... I will monitor the Charities and Community Service RSS this week. Thereafter, Mobsters can drop me an email to make sure I see new submissions.
Thanks ever so much ladies! I plan to change up the poll choices from time to time. Once I put my thinking cap on, I think there's a lot of fun to be had there! I just wish the poll capsules weren't so slow to load and close.
The roundup hubs corral all of the individual HubMob hubs for each week’s topic, into one or more hubs of 25 to 30 hub listings, with profile avatars. It also gives you a backlink. This week, with over 50 submissions, it took me 2 roundup hubs:
The Giving Heart- Charitable Donations and Community Service I & II
chinweike, I'm confident you will produce at least one or two!
Some weeks I look at the new topic and declare that I either have no interest, or no knowledge of the subject. Then by Wednesday, an idea starts forming. By Friday, I often have 2 or 3 ideas. This is what happened for Quest for Perfection and Body Art HubMobs. I was not initially interested, yet these hubs are now always in my top 5 most viewed hubs!
Topics that inspire me right away, I usually write a couple hubs, and by Monday have 2 or 3 or more leftover ideas when the new topic is launched. Thanks to HubMob, I’ll never run out of ideas to write on, because HubMobs give me more ideas than I can keep up with!
HubMob is addictive, and I think you have already been bitten!
I love winter sports! Especially snowboarding...too bad I live in a snowless climate;) Anyhow, I am psyched about the Winter Olympics. So I decided to write about the US snowboarding team that was just announced. A couple more Olympic snowboard hubs are in the works.
Thank you so much to the hubmob. I have taken part in this week's hub mob and wrote an hub on winter olympic games and just after 2 days it has a score of 92. My all time high in my short stay of 2 months here at hubpages. Thank you so much to the hubmob team for and especially to Princessa for coming up with the topic otherwise would never have written the hub.Thank you all.
Thank you so much rmcrayne. I am really on cloud nine and you know what when I saw my name on your round up hub on winter sports i felt like a celebrity. Thank you your hub looked nice. And what is an hub nugget team. I have heard of it but dont know what actually does it do?
I suggest you start a “portfolio”. Of course you have your hubs, but if you get a special mention in someone else’s hub, or a forum post, make a copy for your records. Also keep a calendar with your important milestones, like 1000, 5000, 10,000 views, etc.
Thank you so much rmcrayne. You really helped me out and now you have me excited about the hub nugget as well. Though I still cant figure out where would I nominate myself. Also you are right about keeping a portfolio. I would be making one right now and it will boast of you mentioning my name in your hub.Thank you so much.
Hi everyone! I'm a newbie to the HubMob. I just finished my first post. I believe everything is correct except the RSS feed. I clicked on the link in the instructions and got a page of raw HTML code. It didn't look like the picture but I didn't know what else to do. So I copied the link at the top of the page and put it in the RSS capsule. Can someone look at it.
My Hub is about Sledding. I first cover sledding from a historical perspective. Next I go into techniques of how to get the most from both your hill and your sled. Finally I have information about back country sledding. I chose sledding because that was one of the things I enjoyed most as a kid.
Thanks again for your hard work Princessa - I tried to get into this one but just couldnt find the words (they got lost on a system crash! So I thought it was a sign telling me not to publish - its ok, it was only research material!).
I'll will do my best on the next topic, my friend, I promise! x
That svcks about your crash, but....You've got 48 hrs before the next topic is announced. Couldn't have been a "don't publish" HubMob message. HubMob is never a bad thing! And I'll monitor this thread and RSS daily for another week. And you can always email me.
