Hi Hubbers,
I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!
Here is my article: Natural cures of nature
You need to put a medical disclaimer at the end of the article, and also attribute the photos you have used. Also, the second one is too small and would be better placed further down the article.
Ronaldo, as others have suggested many helpful tips, I would add that you read the article: 'My #1 Writing Tip...' by Bev G (on hubpages) otherwise called 'theraggedgedge). Bev's script focused on just the title of an article. It's very explicit and expostive. I hope you find it helpful. Thanks.
Bev, not at all. I even own you a lot of thanks... Besides, your 'My #1 Writing Tip...' has become the standard of measuring the title and sub-titles of my write-ups. In my next edit and subsequent edits, I'll reflect that in all my articles. Thank you again for such a 'good read'.
My first impression is that it's a bit short. Can you add more plants? Also you need to add photos showing each plant. You can either take your own or use public domain photos from Pixabay or Outsplash. You can also use Creative Commons images from Wikimedia Commons. When editing the photo capsule, you need to properly attribute the owner of the image, where the photo was sourced from and provide a link to the licence or photo page.
Use a text capsule too for each of the plants, rather than adding them as bullet points like you have done. Then you could list any points about the plant as bullets. Alternatively you could do something like what I've shown in the photo below and maybe add an additional bullet point for the aliments the plant is supposed to cure. Add a number before the plant name, because Google likes to extract these to make a list when it uses an article as a featured snippet. Are any of these plants potentially poisonous? Maybe some sort of additional disclaimer would need to be added at the bottom of the article?
The title is a bit general. Maybe it could be "Natural Plant Cures From the Bahamas"? or something similar. You could fit in maybe another keyword in the title. Six or seven is OK.
The bit that starts with "It is a tradition..." and ending with "in the Bahamas" is your introduction and should be shifted up and isolated into its own text capsule just under your title image. Also you used "Bahamas" four times. Replace that by "the islands" the second time you use it and maybe an alternative term later. Or maybe "archipelago", isn't the Bahamas a group of islands? Watch your grammar too. "Believe" should be "believed" and "it's use" should be "its use". "It's" is short for "it is". You don't use the apostrophe when you're talking about ownership of something (called a "possessive noun")
Renaldo, you need to give authoritative references for all of your claims. The title of the article is a problem, too. You are claiming that the plants will cure some serious diseases. In addition, you don’t list safe quantities for people to ingest.
Your introduction and the wording in the article should make it clear that you are describing interesting traditions and that you are not prescribing treatments.
As Jodah says, you should add a medical disclaimer to the article. You should also add a bio describing your relevant experience or training in the place proved in your settings. In addition, as eugbug mentioned, you need to state the source and license of the photos. The title of the article should be written in title case.
