How can I turn on commenting?

You can't. Commenting is available on a few of the network sites but you have no control over it.

    Matt...
This commenting feature doesn't seem to work & I have yet to receive notifications about any recent comments.

The commenting system as currently constituted is completely useless.

It's cumbersome for readers to use, so, probably, the vast majority don't bother.

Writers are not notified that comments have been made. With 900 plus articles I can't possibly check to see if inappropriate comments have been made, so spam, misinformation, and/or misogynist, racist, or other scurrilous content may well appear following our articles.

We would be better off with no comment availability than the current half-arsed system.

I agree. It's difficult to see what the logic behind the current setup is. It's unfit for purpose.

The only explanation that I can possibly think of is that there's some sort of experiment going on.

I agree with Rupert, too. I think comments should be dropped for now. Perhaps in the future when the problems are sorted out they could be added to all of the sites under the HubPages umbrella.

Did I see commenting on some of the other TAG sites?

I am feeling sorry that any of us ever lobbied for the return of comments, when I look at the time and resources that must have been wasted on returning it the useless format it has so far. Better to just scrap comments all together because they will never be used in the current format without notifications.
It would have been easier to just reenable commenting on the feed.
