leeberttea mentions being able to "substantiate your claims". Otherwise it's a matter of she said... she said.

Imagine if the other party came onto the forum and posted the same claims as you, trying to get you booted off?

If you have evidence, such as court orders, it could help.

If the attacks happen on the forum the other party can in the very least be banned from the forum. People have been banned before for uncontrollable temper tantrums and personal attacks.

If it's low level non-direct aggravation then not much can be done. If there are names and contact details being used then contact the HubPages Team.

Also consider how she found you here at HubPages. If it was via a search for events, incidents or names that you've retold, if you've linked to HubPages from other sites that she is aware of. HubPages is a great place to be, so don't readily abandon it, but if you do use other sites don't mention them, even to other family members.

Ah stalking sucks, you'd think she'd have something better to do!

I wish I could help. I hate bullying in any form!
I know that in the forums if someone makes an obvious attack you can report them and they will be removed from the forums for a period of time, but posting in hubs is a different matter.

I see from what you write about that you'd be relatively easy to find no matter where you go, or what name you use.
Maybe you should just ignore her? I mean you are using a psuedonym now, and if she posts your real name etc, no-one here would recognise you.

Mind you, I think if someone else posted my personal details on any website, it might be a police matter if it was posted to cause harm?

I'm dying to know now what names you are talking about. You did say she posts in the forums?

Without reading the actual 'attacks' I couldn't tell my opinion, for what it's worth, but I sure do know how frustrating it can be for someone to continually post blatant lies.  I know another Hubber who has suffered the same problem. You are not alone....I hope you can get the justice you need.  Best thing to do is ignore such things, that is, unless it publicly slanders you, then you have recourse for action. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about all this. I would contact HP team if I was in your shoes; I know they can help with emails sent via Hub Pages, though cannot do much about emails sent privately.
Worst comes to worse, you can always start all over under a different name! Anyway, take care, and I hope this whole issue does not overshadow your experience here...best of luck smile

Yeah best to let HP know about it via the email.

I had a sort of similar thing that I was a devil worshipper and I had to be burnt to cleanse the internet...but I banned the email and the IP address of the idiot without ever having to contact Hubpages!!

If burning you to the stake is what it will take to cleanse the internet (and by that I assume faster internet speeds) then hey, I'm willing to give it a go!

The only advice I can give you is know you are not alone.  $ months have gone by where I have been written about, posted about, commented about, emailed about yada yada yada.

There was a time in the beginning where it bothered me very much as the lies were ridiculous.

I made a decision to ignore, block email addresses, don't post much anymore and ignore their hubs.

Funny enough I sat back without responding and they now are clearly tiring out and their following is gone.

People will think what they may, it's actually none of my business.  Keep contacting hubpages, this way there is a trail of character motives and block them out of their lives.  I may add their motives are completely irrelevant.

Do not give them the negative power they seek.  It just feeds it.  If you want do open another account.  But don't run.  You have as much right to be here as them, and typically sounds like more.

Stay strong and remember this is virtual, not really reAL, NOR ARE THEY

email me anytime if you need to otherwise I promise you they will run out of steam.  Sad at our age this happens here, I still think it's a sign of someone's true colors.

And time has shown, people are not stupid here, they do see those colors too.  sad

    best of luck

GOOGLE is the great truth-teller. and GOOGLE says you, kimberly, are the one posting lies and trash-talking people, not others.

besides, if you claim to ignore people who you claim lie about you, how do you know so much about their activities and their "followings", hmm?

      roll

once again you take a forum topic that has nothing to do with you and make it about you.

now, as to this matter, doodleplum i don't know you or your sister. i made one comment on her forum post because i care about animals. my bunny came from a bunny rescue after being rescued from rabbit hoarders, and i know that most breeders (not all) are bad places for bunnies, puppies and whathaveyou, and so i commented on her forum thread.

i know this is an emotional issue for you and you say she is slandering you. i don't know what the truth is but i hope you get your problems resolved to your satisfaction. three times you have emailed me asking me to delete my forum response and three times i have politely told you that i cannot, and to ask Hubpages for assistance. please do not email me again. thanks very much!

Thank you for responding.  Could you post any 1 of these 6 emails so that we all can understand what you are talking about.  Just one as I am unaware of any and should most definitely be as it would be inexcusable Cosette.

        Thanking you again.

Kimberely ignore her.  This thread was in regards to someone else, and was a thread asking for help.  Cosette, being cosette decided to make it solely about her.

I feel as an outside observer here, that it was a very cynical and extremely selfish side note, soaked in ill begotten intentions and slandering motives. I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that.

Kimberley, this thread should not have been shoved on you, it should not have been made about you, and it clearly should not have been directed towards you, because you offered the original poster good, sound, and clear advice.  However, Cosette's actions speak clearly as to her intentions and made this forum thread into a personal attack towards you.

It is my opinion for what it is worth, that you offered up some really great advice. Whereas Cosette statements were nothing but a personal rant and vendetta.  Therefore, I'd just ignore her.  These tactless methods, speaks volumes as to her intentional hate mongering towards you and others here on HubPages.

She clearly mishandled this situation and forum thread, and turned into a selfish monologue towards herself.  She is the one who is obliviously seeking an audience.  Do not even concern yourself with someone so small minded.  It isn't worth it Kim.  Please just ignore her hate filled monologue.

It comes across as extremely childish, selfish, and tactless.  Let it go Kim.  You are better than that.

I just did, and my perspective hasn't changed.  In particular, I found a Facebook thread where the attacker makes all kinds of accusations about Doodleplum's business - but then at the end of the thread, she posts "everything I said about her is alleged, I don't want to get sued".

And another poster made the point - if the attacker really believes this woman's business mistreats animals, why doesn't she report it to the appropriate authority, instead of going around making "allegations".

darksideposted 14 years agoin reply to this

I didn't realise that framing an allegation as an allegation will protect a person from being sued.

Here's a few points that people should consider:

"A communication is defamatory if it harms one's reputation so as to deter others from associating with him".

"Whether a communication is capable of being defamatory construction is an issue of law for a court to decide."

"Libel is a maliciously written publication intending to blacken a person's reputation."

        1. Marisa Wright profile image85
Marisa Wrightposted 14 years agoin reply to this

I'm quite sure it doesn't protect her! However she clearly thinks it does - although why she would be afraid of being sued if she has proof of her allegations, is another question...

I can safely say that saying something, then saying'it is alleged' afterwards, il not indemnify you from prosecution, indeed in many cases saying you perpetuated a fact which was previously unsubstantiated will land you in further hot water.

Thing is, we're only hearing one side...  That's the trouble with people who claim they're being stalked and harassed.  There's ALWAYS two sides to the story, huh?  Website Examiner makes a valid point.  Plus, anyone who's fighting for the rights of helpless animals that have no say in their treatment is aces in my book.

I suppose you should examine your own part in this debacle.  Seems she's accusing you of doing your own harassing and bullying...  He said, she said, for sure.

Yes, just yesterday I received a nasty comment on one of my hubs from an HP member who commented as unregistered.  Even chose a male name!  Ha ha ha.  That handy little tool HP has for identifying ISPs sure comes in handy.   I really enjoyed the nasty lies told about me and others on an external website for HP members.  Good times.  Anyway, two sides to every story...

Once again as I have said in one of the other forums HP is not the place for family laundry. You have the ability to block any comment left on your hubs and you do not have to acknowledge the forum posts. It would seem that the choice to continue this here is yours.

Oh Hubpages has been often described as one big (Global) community and as we all know healthy communities have all kinds of drama's from time to time...

If we could know what goes on in our streets n neighborhoods ( and often we do) it makes our hair curl..hehe.

I would say , take responsibilty yourself, and work out your own privacy issues if youre not happy with said management.

Much advice has been given , Id say the balls in your court.

      omg haha big_smile

my last comment is that, as a HubPages member, i don't appreciate being drawn into a family fight nor do i appreciate being emailed several times about it either. just FYI, after a certain amount of time, the [Edit] and [Delete] buttons disappear and you can't edit your posts. besides, i didn't post anything derogatory towards you anyway, since i've never seen you before. i was merely commenting on the original poster's post, 'k?
