I'm talking about here on Hubpages. The most brainless, no-witted, foolish thing you have ever seen posted.

Have a flick through the religious forums sometime.
There's so many brainless posts put up by people on both sides of the argument that it's impossible to choose the most idiotic.

That one is really sick, imo. But there have been so many. lol Some I have never even finished reading the original post before hitting the Back button.
And the ones with the "trick you into titles"...I no longer even look at anymore.

I just saw the news earlier...how are you enjoying the Cooler weather in Texarkana area??? What a relief today was.

Hi!  Yes, it's much better today. I'm waiting on hubby to get home now so we can trim my horse's hooves. It's been too hot lately to even think about doing it!

I agree that some posts are so stupid I don't bother reading them. But that one I mentioned above took the taco for nink-um-poop!

I have to agree, that's a winner. I saw that today and didn't bother to open it. The answer is kind of obvious. First thing that came to mind was, "Ewwwwwwwww....so gross!"

almost everything that gets posted in these forums is moderately to intensely brainless  - we leave out brains in a basket by the door before entering, that way EVERYBODY can have fun and no one has to feel bad  -   as far as I can tell, that is what goes on here.  I love it, personally. smile

But you don't mean 'IS IT RIGHT FOR PARENT TO BE HAVING SEX IN THE PRESENCE OF THEIR CHILD'?
      I just took a look - that's NOT fun!

      1. mega1 profile image80
mega1posted 14 years agoin reply to this

naw - I don't even open a thread like that - ditto some of the obvious bids for sexual attention of some kind - unless, of course, I'm feeling exceptionally brainless myself and then I jump right in to tell them how inappropriate or transparent their post is and how much I don't like it - and generally somebody says "if you don't like it, don't read it"   so you can see why I say "we" leave our brains in a basket by the door.

I think some of this stuff serves a purpose in being an outlet for inanity or insanity or just plain old cussedness and I don't leave myself out when I'm pointing the finger.  Sometimes its fun to just be silly or express our dismay.  So right now I'm expressing dismay!

the sex in front of children post is pretty dumb on the face of it and possibly something more than that. There have been a number of posts like that which are very thinly veiled attempts to titillate people by mentioning taboo sex topics - the other day there was one about whether women always bleed for first time sex - the title of it was "Sex for the first time"  and there were posts by young pretty women avatars with hubber scores of about 20.  Obvious to me that these were solicitations but I'm not sure how that works?  they get men to email them or something and then offer sex for a price?   I'm sure that prostitution happens here as well as anywhere else online.  It's offensive, actually, more than stupid.

Ditto on all the above.... Plus, I guffaw and gag a little bit every time I read about how "deep" this or that or the other person is.  So far I haven't seen it, but maybe I just haven't been looking at the right time.

    1. mega1 profile image80
mega1posted 14 years agoin reply to this

see?  we get sucked in all the time thinking we may have missed something deep and profound - and I, anyway, spend hours chatting here with people - sometimes its fun, sometimes I wonder what the heck I think I'm doing.   Certainly I never get very deep or profound and shouldn't expect to find that, but I do!  I do!  I do!  nuts, huh!  smile

oh, and I did go to the sex in front of children post and had to give them my words - but basically I think we all got punked on that one if we took it seriously.

There are too many candidates for "dumbest".  We have all made dumb posts and we all will again.  That is out of our control.

What we can avoid is being mean.   That some choose not to is unfortunate, but passions do move us in ways that are not always pretty.

Well, I don't know then.  But do you really need a large one?   I have had a lot of fun for years with a less than awe inspiring example.

Now brains, well, that's different.  I usually like to use my Big Brain rather than the little one that drives me sometimes.  Things just work out better, I have found.

The problem is, both of these things are wearing out.  Do you know where I can find a good Used Dick and Brain shop?  I don't need anything real big in either category.

Look Pcunix, I didn't mean to set this off. I'm not trying to answer a question, well I am but not this one. This question, the one about the big nob, is the most stupid question I've ever seen. See? it's an answer, not a question!

There's no need to call me "brains",  we hardly know each other.

                  Oh I see. Brains . . .

Thank you though for the reflections accompanying this post. I wonder if it'd be possible to invent a strap-on brain? Whad'you think? You, or I, or both of us could run a comprehensive strap-on chain store for people whose bits were wearing out? Now all we need is capital and a breakthrough invention . . .

Mine was a crazy British woman who wanted the world population reduced to 500,000.... in the belief that she should be amongst the remaining 500,000 because of her high IQ. The first to be lined up against a wall would have been the physically and mentally disabled.

That one wasn't just idiotic, it was in fact distressingly insane, even more distressing were the number of Hubbers that appeared to share her views. A quick look at the Google Keyword Tool confirmed, thankfully, that very few people actually subscribe to or research this particular set of ideals. At least away from this loony bin.

    1. seanorjohn profile image72
seanorjohnposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Ryan, I think you are being a bit harsh calling her a looney.

My plan would to breed 500,000 intelligent people.
Trouble is, I don't want to go down the incestuous route.

If anyone could put me in touch with intelligent girls I will alert my four brothers. We will sort this mess out.

    2. Pcunix profile image86
Pcunixposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Except her IQ wasn't quite high enough for her to understand that high intelligence isn't a particularly useful trait.   Most of the problems that really matter are better solved with a high emotional intelligence than a high IQ- or can't be solved at all.

      1. Diane Inside profile image69
Diane Insideposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Thats really true, I've known a few people with IQ's off the charts, but as for just plain common sense they had none.

        1. Pcunix profile image86
Pcunixposted 14 years agoin reply to this

It's more than that.   I always am hesitant to post links here but if you research really high IQ people, many have real problems adjusting to society.   It's analogous to being Andre The Giant - you can't play with your friends because you'll hurt them.  You are too big to use many tools.  But you can't win a fight with a grizzly bear either or jump over tall buildings with a single bound.

It's not a matter of "common sense" - it's that you aren't smart enough to see the sense they are making.   As almost nobody else is either, it usually works out that you were right anyway :-)

The most successful people are the ones who are a little bit smart.  Smarter than most, but not so smart that they cannot fit in.  Not so smart that they can't still see how ordinary people think and use that to their advantage.  Many of the successful people you may think of as "brilliant" are not, actually - if they were, they usually will not be successful :-)

There are lots of reasons why people post a topic here at the forums, reasons are varied maybe to :

    help their author score
to be known to others, introduction of themselves
    bored
real problem and need solutions about hubbing
    wanting support
    just to be heard

Or else sometimes I am just thinking that since we come from different countries and varied cultural orientations, some questions would be relevant to me is nonsense to others.
