Hiya fellow Hubbers!
(By the way, I've been here on HubPages for about 3 weeks, and I'm LOVING it. Thanks to everyone who's made me feel so welcome.)
I have a poll for experienced hubbers and newbies alike. How many unpublished hubs do you have sitting around, waiting to be finished? How long have you been working on them? And why aren't they published?
I just deleted two that I finally realized I was never going to get up the energy to finish. I have two now (one HubMob candidate).
Thoughts?
435 here, hehe, kidding.. I had about 60 at one point and I started publishing them "as is" like crazy at one point. I usually will build a new hub on a whim, something I see on TV, something I read, something someone said, some advice I give my roommate (I’m her psychotherapist and "love doctor" for her dating life) will inspire me to write it down so I can retain the lessons for myself and I share these thoughts with my fans/hub community alike.
Some times I write the whole hub out not realizing its complete and it sits unpublished for 5 months before I revisit it and read it thinking wow this is good why didn't I publish this 5 months ago!
Other times I want to add to it, tweak it, or simply write it with no pictures but put picture capsules in there and want to do the pictures later, so they sit in the unpublished queue..
another thing I do is "store" hubs ready to go so when I can't hub for a while because I get terribly busy with my copywriting career, I can launch these stored hubs a few a week to maintain a fresh presence on HubPages, so my fans don't think I've died and start dropping off as fans the thing is just because you have them stored there doesn't mean you have to be in any hurry to publish them or delete them, their is no time limit, I have one hub called "flip that hubhouse" that I have had in there for almost 11 months now.. and I refuse to release it till its complete, but now it may just become essential to my upcoming site on building a money making HubPage...
Never delete your work, why not share it even if it's not perfect? anything you put up can generate money and maybe you don't like it or think its not that good but other do!
I've published hubs I thought would be bombs but they turned out to be fabulously popular.. go figure. even with NO pictures on them!
after house cleaning (publishing) I have 4 in my unpublished que, I've been a bit efficient with writing and publishing lately.. which I concider a bad thing, I like having a bunch in there to publish when times get slow (busy off hubpages slow in writing hubs)...

Hmmm I don't know I should publish this - 54 unpublished ones LOL Most of the them are just titles - a good idea that I haven't got back too. A few are url's that I wanted to grab to promote later. The ood couple are partly written and I haven't got back them. Hmm think I will go and write something now !
You go lissie, never know what will inspire us from day to day huh... I got an email yesterday and wrote an entire hub even though I was going to just publish the hub as the pictures with a paragraph (the world through a childs eyes) you just can't get me going cause I can't stop writing! ahhhhh

I have two waiting. I'm waiting for the inspiration to finish them...
Inspiration is on sale at wal*mart this week, its between the macdonalds and the parking lot.
Wow, 54. I have four, one of which I should probably just stop being a perfectionist about and publish already. Another is URL squatting until I can get around to organizing my research to finish the series it's part of, and two more are partially written hubs that I just ran out of steam on. I should probably just delete them, but I keep hoping I'll get the oomph back.
never delete them just do what I do in this situation go in and remove anything that says "needs more info" and rework it so what you have is the full hub remember more hubs more adsense ads up even crappy hubs earn with enough traffic and SEO

Currently 9. I've had as many as 15 or so in the past, but usually I just have titles for ideas. Sometimes, though, I'll sit on them so long that I don't ever finish the hub and get bored with the idea and never do it.
Over the weekend I just gave up and deleted 5 as lost causes.
1 hub has been waiting for final touch for months. I just can't finish it the best way I could think of. Otherwise I don't keep hubs unpublished for more than a week.
I have a secret stash of unpublished hubs I use for personal journals, and a way to organize my ideas that I don't want to go public. I realize its not fully secure but pretty much only hubpages can see it if they even do. I find hubpages is a great way to get plans out of your head and organized. My SA stuff for example I have an unpublished hub that will never go live I am documenting my SA success, daily and may later save this.
I also have a hub I use just to store pictures I want to link to in my profile page. I used to put the avatar in a link below the picture in my profile page so people could click the link which is essentially the link to "view full picture" in the hub and it allows people to see my avatar in full size. I did this to add functionality to the profile page you can see it now if you like:

It is beside the search box, I haven't updated since 5 avatar changes ago lol.. you can also do this throughout your profile using links to display additional stuff. like if you wanted to make a picture with your writing background summary you could do this and add a hyperlink to click to see the full picture which is a document converted to a picture... possibilities are endless if your creative... one thing I thought of doing is adding picture albums to the profile of whatever...
just sprinkle links and use the pictures in your unpublished hub to provide the uploaded picture preview the hub click the picture (set it up in the settings to show full picture) then when the picture loads right click properties and copy the url, embed in your profile page link and even set to load seperate page so it doesn't reload the page
ah a new page for my site... profile tricks hehe

I know that you can choose to display your idle hubs on your profile page, but I don't, because I don't want Google to see them at all and get confused by all those "do not follow." What this means is that my idle hubs are not available for anyone to see, and I have to actively...

I was reading darkside's hub on hubscores.http://hubpages.com/hub/HubscoreIt states the following:Low HubScore ConsequencesWhen the Hubber score (AuthorScore) is below 75 all links in all hubs by the author will have nofollow applied (which means no, or very little benefit in search engine...

My "Inside the Beehive" hub just got the "Editor's Choice" award. After reading the posts about Editor's Choice, I feel like it is like getting the key to the city. It is a great honor, but it's not good for any thing. It doesn't even show up on my profile...

After 6 months on the site i've started the really wonder how many backlinks is a reasonable number to any hub, and really to a hub becoming successful? Or is it simply a lottery. What kind of figures do other hubbers consider?
