Today's cheerleader message: Remember that the 26 first hubs are the hardest. After that, it's all tailwind for 'ya.

On a serious note: It's all about taking one hub at a time. You can have several drafts running concurrently, but don't be so eager to push the "publish" button. Release them when they are good and ready. Almost like growing and harvesting vegetables.

WE - So funny!  Actually, you're right about the last few being easier.  By then, we're numb to much of the pain!

Thanks for the reminder. smile It's been such a crazy busy day with work, having the new roommate move in officially, and saying goodbye to a friend moving back to the east coast that I was tempted to just upload a couple pics to an earlier draft without going back over it. Keep cheering! ^_^

The Readers were feeling undernourished, despairing over the dwindling supplies in their fridge, freezer, and dry storage area. What happened to the large stock that had been here only hours before?

The HubChallengers had been here, it was explained. "If they don't eat, they don't write, and then we cannot read. Their stomachs full, they shall go make us all proud, and then they'll replenish what they took. We'll all be better off, you'll see."

The Readers did not see. As much as they cherished reading matter, they'd pick tangible food and drink anytime. When their bellies were not happy, neither were they.

Someone rang the doorbell. The head of the Readers household went to open, and outside stood a delivery man holding several large cradles of packed food. A boy was carting in much more from a delivery van that had its engine running in idle out in the street.

"The Hubbers made it?" the Readers shouted, and the delivery man and boy nodded quietly in unison. "They made it through another day, and here is the reward: Tons of new hubs for you to read while you indulge yourself with breakfast."

The Readers then glanced across to the other side of the street, where a cheerleader was enthusiastically motioning from side to side, then hopping up and down.

The cheerleaders were gathering in a circle out on the market square. Regular pedestrians stood by - men, women, and children. The men were excited, the women were patient, and the children were excited as well.

Suddenly, a brass band started playing from afar. The crowds looked in the direction of the sound, and they saw the HubChallengers marching in, led by a sole cheerleader. The cheerleaders group on the market square started moving in sync to the music, and soon the crowds were cheering as well, letting the children release their colorful balloons up into the air.

Evylyn Roseposted 13 years agoin reply to this

I take it you're that sole cheerleader leading the way. wink  Thanks again for cheering us all on! I had a rather "off" day today and just couldn't seem to focus. It wasn't that I couldn't get the writing moving. Au contraire, I found that I was writing well enough, but just little bits on different topics. I just wasn't able to concentrate and brainstorm enough to make full articles. After reading this little cheer, I dug down deep to get myself to pump out a hub. smile 5 down, 25 more to go!

I wish you all the best.  I have done one of these in the past, but am just too busy with my own blogs and different projects going right now.  But I would offer a bit of encouragement and state that research from HubSpot proves that more content equals more traffic.

I have found the same to be true here.  As I publish more and more, I get greater levels of traffic.  So you are doing well to work on these Challenges.

    1. Evylyn Rose profile image59
Evylyn Roseposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm already noticing a huge increase in traffic just from doing the Challenge. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that so many of us have jumped in this time around and are all networking with each other and sharing each other's new hubs outside of HubPages. When I started this thread a few couple weeks back I had no idea it would turn into something so friendly and beautiful. smile

To those HubChallengers who experience fatigue, despair, or any other undesirable sentiments... Just remember this:

In every nation of the globe, there are people wishing they could do what you are now aspiring to do - to be creative and productive within your chosen fields of interest. To be surrounded by your caring peers and quite a few interested readers. Carry on then!

    1. Evylyn Rose profile image59

Another wonderful piece of encouragement! Lately I've been hearing a lot of "good for you" and "that's so awesome" when people hear that I dropped (nearly) everything to start a new writing career. I spent too much time listening to naysayers over the years and since I decided to ignore them and do my own thing, I have never felt freer and happier in my life! Thanks for the reminder.

Now let's all go and keep the passion moving forward!
