The issue of approval is often a tricky issue. A few people actually NEED other's approval as an elixir, often subjecting themselves and/or subverting their individual personalities in order to be liked. Some people actually WANT others to notice them while still there are people who actually COULDN'T CARE LESS about other's approval and/or what others think of them. What is YOUR issue regarding other people's approval and what others think of you?
I don't care, which is probably just as well because I don't get much attention on Hubpages )D
Surely 1,756,991,004 different (yet similar) threads opened and abandoned since what seemed a very salty s-s-s-s-s-sorry was slipped sideways across the floor a couple of days ago.... may answer that question Mark!
Happy New Year to you and yours mate! Hope life is still bearable after all this non smoking time! I completely stopped cold turkey too, a few months before you. Take Care up there!
Yup - still quit. This one is funny. Says sorry, starts a thread asking about people who get all sensitive like....... Needs attention.
Take care down there.
I was thinking exactly the same thing, Pearldiver. This is all rather passive-aggressive if you ask me.
GMWilliams you are my troll idol. Don't let anyone try to change you babe!
Tussin, you have made this sassy New York babe's day. Right on and upward!
So, having no idea what anyone is referencing here, I will respond to the original question.
I actually like ppl. I enjoy them, their complexities and their strengths. I wont apologize for who I am. I am a Christian, I love to laugh and I laugh a lot. I am sarcastic, and mostly empathetic. I have a ton of weaknesses that I am tackling one by one. Having said that, I want to be liked, but not for the sake of being liked, but b/c I like to live at peace with ppl. I like to have fun with ppl. I tend to find something I can identify with with each person and focus on that. Ppl seem to really be drawn to me, which is nice, and to be honest, it confuses me when ppl seem to hate for no reason. I don't like contrary or unkind ppl, but like I said, I will strive to get along with most anyone. I can't imagine any one is interested in any of this, but maybe I felt a need to do what was expected of me and answer the op's question. lol
I'll have you know that I'm not "Ppl"! I have vowels, too, you know!
Your lack of approval or consideration for my vowels has hurt me greatly and I feel in need of a good cry.
I must earn your favor. I am sending a cake in the mail.
I also realize GMWilliams could be a woman. I must earn his/her forgiveness. Your cake is in the mail too. Every one please choose to like me! Thank you for your time.

How much do you care about what others think about you?Let's assume you're a decent human being. Do you care what complete strangers think about what you wear, what you read, how your hair is, or whether you're in a relationship or not?

The opinions of others on ourselves - why do we care?Whilst we can all try to say "I don't care what anyone thinks of me" it's likely to be a lie - we do so! But why? Any answers?

Do you care what others think or say about you behind your back?Does it matter what other people say about you when you're out of hearing range. We come across with two-faced people that have developed this sort of lifestyle. Being a "public chameleon" with opinions that are constantly...
