SweetiePie wrote a really interesting hub on Celebrity Crushes. In the comment thread we started talking about singers we think are good looking.
I'd like to hear others' thoughts...

I always thought Sting was pretty handsome.  I also like Bono, Justin Hawyard, John Lodge, and I think Alfred Molina is kind of hot in a very talented way.

I don't really go for looks too much. It's the voice that will catch my attention. Like , One Republic, the late Freddy Mercury, Keith Urban, Burton Cummings, Johnny Lang, John Womack...to name a few, lol.

SweetiePie, You have very interesting and mature taste. Alfred Molina. He has a lot of character in his face, doesn't he?
I adore The Moody Blues. Days of Future Passed is like "the" album that transports me back to high school. Such incredible music. Never thought for one minute about them as a performing band, tho!
Sting is sexy and is well preserved for his age.
Bono -- I dunno. Sometimes I look at him and he looks odd to me. But he's also very, very sexy (especially the work he does around the world).
One who I never even liked when he first came out is Bruce Springsteen. Now I think he's totally HAWT.
Also total hotties are Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and (OMG on this one) Gavin Rossdale of Bush. He and Gwen Stefani are a totally adorable couple. I hope they last (uh oh -- am I edging back into celebrity crush land:-)???
    Thanks for commenting!!!

The Moody Blues are a performing band in that they play well over fifty live concerts a year.  However, I think they are not as fast paced as some of the other bands people consider performing bands.  I think Bono is a mixture of things, which is why I am attracted to him.  Alfred Molina is a genous with playing different characters and different accents, so I find that kind of sexy I suppose.

Your celebrity crushes are also very mature and alluring.  Bruce Springstein is intriguing in a rugged sexy kind of way.

Good point Dame Scribe. Freddy Mercury's voice was probably in the top 5 of great rock singers of all time. The voice definitely adds to the appeal. Otherwise singers like Tom Petty, George Thorogood and Lyle Lovett wouldn't be where they are.

    MM--

Right on the money with Bruce Springsteen--good looking, aged well, the man can WRITE, and is just intellectually as well as artistically Hawt.

Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't say Keith Urban--my partner has a very similar smile--or something...  And the boy can move playing his music.

G-mom and Lita -- guess you two are going to have to wrestle it out for Keith:-). I'm sure between the two of you you can take out Nicole Kidman. She's pretty scrawny these days (although pregnant again, is that right?).

SP -- What I meant more than that I didn't think of MB going on tour was that I didn't associate their music (which I was very familiar with with personalities of the band leaders (which I was not). Perhaps I missed them on covers of Rolling Stone, etc. I don't think I ever even saw them or looked at their photos on album covers (yes, back then I owned the vinyl:-).

Another singer I have to include on my list is Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. She just radiates androgynous sex appeal. I sooo wanted to be her or even remotely like her! Wonder what she's doing now!!!

      Mighty Mom,

You brought up a very good observation about the Moody Blues because were very reclusive back in their hey day of the sixties and seventies.  Graeme Edge gave an interview explaining that they never wanted to appear on the cover of their records or give interviews because they saw how unjustly the Beatles were treated once they became famous celebrities.  The Moody Blues used to be an opening act for the Beatles on some shows, and one day Graeme Edge was mistaken for a Beatle and a mob of girls attacked him:

I also like Shakira by the way, her belly dance technique is incredible. I guess I can identify with her to because she is part Lebanese (being part Syrian myself)  because there are not many mainstream entertainers of Middle Eastern descent.  Salma Hayek is also part of Lebanese and Spanish, and I think the combo makes her exotic and hot.

I'll be the first male to post on here...lol. I think women singers are overrated, frankly I don't think the likes of Carrie Underwood arouse me in the slightest. I always found Shakira attractive, both in her singing and her appearance tongue

This'll sound weird, but it isn't so much the singers as the musicians -- guitarists -- anyone who can play good guitar (electric, acoustic, mandolin, whatever) -- actually, no; it isn't even the guitarist, it's the music, so help me, turns me WAY on, makes my toes curl, --

and Russell Crowe, of course.  The stuff he wrote when he played with Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts is pretty self-indulgent, but there's one song he recorded with Crissie Hynde ("Never be alone again") that's ok.

    *sigh*

I used to drool myself silly over Sebastian Bach from Skid Row, and Jon Bon Jovi when he had long hair. Even though I'm straight, I also think Courtney Love is perhaps the most gorgeous woman in rock!

I virtually grew up on Donna Summers.I still don't remember how many wet dreams I had watching her LP cover of 'Love To Love You Baby' as her satiny voice cast a spell with the husky invite in that all time erotic number. Even today that track takes me back to my growing up years when Donna Summers really turned on the heat!!!

I'm laughing at the image of Donna Summer and that dorky 70s hair she had. Pretty lady, tho.
I agree with everyone who finds Shakira beautiful. Fergie is appealing, too.
Maybe I am just too old, but it's hard for me to find any of the current crop of pop icons drool=worthy.
Oh -- I do have a major crush on Leon Russell and Dr. John:-)!

Hey Lady singers are attractive too!
I'm probably a little less main stream but in addition to their actual ability to sing, these gals have a few other qualities that rank them at the top in my opinion.

    1) Vanessa Carlton- "1000 miles".  Besides being an incredibly proficient pianist and beautiful in a natural, not overly-done up kind of way, she has one of the sexiest, most original voices.  Her tone and style is naturally, seductive and sweet.  She doesn't have to flaunt anything.  She's "got it" where it counts in my opinion.

    2) Mandy Moore, though I can't think of any one particular song that comes to mind but I just like her.  She's sexy in a "girl next door" kind of way.  Her true beauty however, lies in her down to earth, no-nonsense and genuine personality.  She is every bit the kind of gal a guy could fall in love with.  The guy in "A Walk To Remember" did exactly that.

    3) Alicia Keys.  She is just drop dead gorgeous to me.  She also has the talent and stage presence to back it.  She has an exotic quality to her that is somewhat mesmerizing, couple that with her voice and music and it's sexy.

There are always more of them but these three stand out!

Oh I forgot one- a big one...
Amy Lee: the babe from Evanescence is indescribably sexy.  She's like the ultimate object of desire.  She exudes a mesmerizing mix of opposites and extremes that makes her an enigma of eroticism. Her attire evokes an air of mystery and magic, while her personna comes off as naive, even innocent.  Her lyrics are seductive; her music is dark and yet her voice is heavenly and angelic.  With her it's the whole package... enough to drive a guy nuts in a completely, turned on kind of way!  ( }:^D)
