I became a fan of Adam Lambert when he was on American Idol, and purchased two of his albums. I found it very strange that his "Take One" Cd is nowhere near as good as "For Your Entertainment."
"Take One" is mostly slow Balads, and seems like all of the songs sound pretty much the same, where as "For your Entertainment" is a album filled with exciting songs, and a few that stick in your head, and you can't get them out.
I was recently watching some videos on Youtube of his Glam Nation tour in various cities, and there is one that feels like a scene right out of the sound of music, as you can barely hear him sing "what do you want from me." Because the audience is singing the song so loud, He might as well just let them sing it, Janet Jackson once did, at a concert I went to.
I think it is very cool that a song has that much pull, that everyone seems to know every single word, in such a short time.
Especially since the CD has only been in stores for a year.
So my question is, does anyone else have both CD's? And, what do you think of Adam Lamberts success up to date? If he keeps doing what he is doing now, I see him being a lasting success.
I also recently learned that "For Your Entertainment." has sold over a million copies. I wonder how Kris Allen's CD is doing.
If you want to see more of Adam, there is plenty to see on Youtube from his curent GlAM NATION tour.
I love watching Adam Lambert perform. I'm not as into just listening to him as I am watching him. Must be the cougar in me.
Why Cougars Crave Adam Lambert
Oh God No! Can't stand to watch him, Yuck! Sorry, just not a big fan at all.
I was just watching another Youtube performance of Adam singing "Aftermath" at one of his Glam Nation concert stops.
It is just one guy playing the guitar, and Adam singing. It is very beautiful.
I think the people who are saying they don't like seeing him sing have probably never watched him since American Idol, and the AMA disaster. Not to mention that he is openly gay.
I wonder how many people would say they don't want to see Elton John sing anymore, because he is openly gay and married to a man. I usually like to give everyone a chance.
That is everyone except for Marylin Manson, and a few other gross out acts, and most rappers. But, it's only because the type of music they sing sucks. It has nothing to do with them as a person. And, I think people are missing out on great talent over something stupid.
Anyways, I give him thumbs up.
I absolutely adore Adam Lambert! I don't own his CDs, but I watch YouTube stufff of his all the time. In fact, I spent about 30 minutes last night watching stuff on him.
My wife and I are fans. I think his sexuality will hurt him, which is sad, because without that, he could be the nexf Elvis. But with the hatred from the Christians, he probably cannot.
I really think (and hope) you are wrong about that - the world is changing so fast and tho the rightist Christian segment are loud and persistent about their propaganda, I don't think the large majority are buying their campaign against all we've fought so hard to win. Just hearing them rant and rave about Prop 8 and Obama and homosexuality and pro-rights of all kinds, its unbelievable - but I am quite quite sure that the ones who uphold the beauty of people like Adam will stay vigilant and strong and not let those nuts get their way - which would mean back to the 30's of Americuh!
Yes I'm a fan - I not only love and adore Adam, but I love the gay world - and I'm a heterosexual female. I don't think I'm alone, cuz I've seen videos where it seems that 3/4 of the audience are women way over 40! Heaven knows why! The thing about Adam is that he does not lose his exuberance and love for performing and musical ability that puts him way on top when it comes to pop music. He's in a strata of his own, and I really could care less if some homophobes and others who can't recognize true music ability don't appreciate him. I hope the music biz doesn't ever take away that layer of almost innocence that colors everything he does. I hope the music biz people don't chew him up - but he seems pretty strong. Altho looking at those glam tour videos he does seem kind of tired - and that's very understandable. Hope he gets to stop and smell the roses - alot!
I just read Rumi's words. . "an inner wakefulness that directs the dream" and that describes what Adam has.
Because of this thread, I just spent half-an-hour watching Adam on YouTube. That man is pure, hot, sexy talent.
check this out.....yum.
Adam singing 'what do you want from me' live
I liked him when he was on Idol and had a feeling he was gay though most of my friends just thought he was the next KISS. I think he's got an incredible talent and I hope too that the folks who think they know what God's message is leave him alone. I really can't imagine a God who judges ANYONE and that to me says it all. Like him or don't like him because of his music and his abilities - but leave the gay question out of it. He has an incredible amount of raw talent and I think/hope he refines it over the years. Even though most of his stuff isn't my 'style' I can still appreciate musical talent for what that is.
I clicked on this thread out of curiosity, to see "who's Adam Lambert, anyway?" Now I know. Based on that picture, I'm guessing I wouldn't be a fan.
That's quite alright. he onl has about 50 billion fans already! (my rough estimate)
Oooooh noooooo! Lisa, please don't miss out on Adam just because you're not a fan of this particular picture! I happen to hate the picture! But, Adam, OMG, he's fantisticly talented as a singer and entertainer! Check him out on YouTube. He has such a variety of sounds and looks.
OMG - Yes!!! He is so talented and 'For Your Entertainment' is artistically what I'd expect from him. Love Adam Lambert!!
Even if he is gay.
Oh, well. Seeing how we most likely will never cross paths, I guess it's okay.
The only thing I'm not a fan of is finding myself watching something similar to gay porn while watching the AMA Show. Absolutely inappropriate for TV.
This is one of my favorites of Adam Lambert.

I don't watch American Idol and was initially turned off by the AMA thing, not because of the gay kiss but because he sounded off key the whole time!
Some friends convinced me to give him another chance, though, and I like several of his songs a lot. They're not high art or anything, but catchy and fun - exactly what a good pop song should be.
He is definitely easy on the eyes, too, which never hurts.
KCC, I checked that one out, but this one is more my kind of taste:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5X6-iWv … re=related
(Still, though - and it turns out I'm not as open-minded I try to be - I can't really get past being disturbed by the hair-do.
) I can see why people say he's talented, though.
LOL, I agree with Rafini. Adam's had more hairdos in the past year than I've had in my whole 40+ years. LOL
Maybe I can re-find him with a less "mentally confusing" (for me) hair-do. I'll look again sometime.
(In fairness to him, there's some version of that hair-do that a lot of young guys have today. It looks like they're wearing a woman's wig or hair-piece. too high up on their head.
. But, then again, like you, I haven't done a whole lot to change my hair-do in forty years either. I think, maybe, I need to face that I'm just judging someone who is not in my age-league.
) (Oh, how shallow I can be sometimes.
)
That's all part of the "Glam" Image in the music industry. He is just the only man with enough balls to still carry the image without giving a crap what anyone else thinks. All you have to do is go back to the 1980's during the big hair band days, and it's no different.
Bands like Poison, Cinderella, and Motley Crue had more lipstick and eyeliner than any man should ever wear, and their outfits were ten times more crazy than anything Adam is wearing. They looked like hookers.
Lets not forget the punk years, and David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust. I also recall a band called Flock of Seagulls, and the Culture Club...DUH! Oh, and, we all know Boy George was straight...(NOT!)
I think he is pretty sedate compared to Elton John or Liberace. Those guys spent hundreds even thousands on their stage outfits. We also can't leave out Elvis and his costumes. But, I wonder if Elvis wanted to wear that stuff, or it he was just doing it because of a contract.
Give Adam a few years. I see a buzzcutt, with a little leather coming.
I don't like his music, I love his voice. Not a fan, but I recognize his talent.

I can't believe Adam Lambert put on this type of Trash performance on Television in Prime Time where "children" could see this. It was tasteless and trashy! I know controversy sells in entertainment, but this may backfire on him!!!! Shame on You Adam!I was a fan of the music, but...I he...

Well, Stephen Tyler has quit, Jennifer Lopez is probably quitting...and I just heard that Randy Jackson is also out as a judge.Who would you like to see as an American Idol judge?

I have been watching American Idol off and on this year, and I think the only thing I like is that Ellen is on. But, she isn't as much fun as I hoped she would be, but she does have her moments. The rest has just been kind of boring. There isn't anyone in this group to get that excited about. I...

If so, I would like to engage in a discussion about this unhealthy addiction of mine.I predicted the who the Top 5 would be Seven weeks ago and I'm basking in it, but I'm also concerned for myself. To understand this type of absurdity must not be healthy at all.
