Amazing Avocado : Health Benefits of Avocado

Amazing Avocado : Health Benefits of Avocado. Avocado which is scientifically named as Persea Americana is also termed as butter or alligator pears belongs to the family Lauraceae Avocados can be found mostly in South America. I grew up eating this fruit and realized the wonder of avocado when one of family member had a stroke and the doctor recommended avocado as the best substitute for protein.

Avocado is a rich source of protein but it has lesser fats. I figured the fruit came to the Philippines (where I came from, but I migrated to the US) because we were also colonized by Spain for three hundred years plus and they were bringing products, spices, fruits and vegetables to their different colonies. Mexico was colonized by the Spain and there was a trade going on between Mexico and the Philippines tranporting the amazing avocado. I call it amazing because it is a source wealth of nutrients which are essential to the body.
