You wouldn't think eighteen bucks would impress me, but it really does

I've been here 8 weeks now, entering my ninth.

I am absolutely sold on HubPages.

I don't remember how I got here.  I wish I did, because I owe a big Thank You to whoever caused me to take a look.

I just checked my Adsense for HubPages.   I'm having a very good month for Adsense - it has been really depressed the past few years but lately it has snapped back and is at $750 for the month this morning.  That's excellent.

HubPages contribution to that is $13.79.  Adding in the few dollars it pulled in before July, HP has added a little more than $18 to my total wealth so far.

You might not think that would impress me, but it absolutely does.  I have tried spinning off sites from my main site before.  I made strong efforts, writing hundreds of new posts and made sure to push traffic from my main site.

The results were disappointing.  The new sites just could not gain traction.  The were barely worth the hosting fees even after a year.  Eventually I closed them down and moved the content  to my main site where it has done much better.

To see HubPages pull in $18 in just two months was a complete surprise.  That is really, really good performance.  The stuff I spun off on my own didn't even start doing anything until it was three months old and it was far more posts and far less than $18.00 !

So, yes, $18.00 is not much.   But it's from just 102 posts and the oldest is barely over 8 weeks ago.  It's obviously going to get better, probably much, much better.

As I said at the top, I am absolutely sold on HubPages and am enthusiastically recommending it.

Congratulations! I've just reached $50 on adsense ($25 this month).

Awesome feeling isn't it? And yes after having my own failed sites (none as good as your main one!) and stumbling my way through coding and promotion and indexing - I love a site that just lets me write - and you don't even have to keep it in one niche. big_smile

      Well, no , $18 isn't awesome :-)

But $18 so quickly sure is.  I can easily imagine this getting to a few hundred a month.

I could imagine your current portfolio reaching a few hundred a month with just a little more age!

        Congrats!

Yeah, and that really does surprise me.  HubPages has some incredible drawing power, don't they?

But I'm not stopping now.   Because I'm free to write on any subject here, there's much more I can do.  Although I broke out of the niche often, my main site really does lock me into a specific box.

Did I mention that I really love HubPages?  I'm not sure I made that clear - probably have been hinting around at it, but didn't really stress it enough, right?

          :-)

I am with you there, I have sites which earn more than Hubpages, but when I compare their perfomance in relation to effort expended, Hubpages wins everytime.

I've been here a year now and hit $16 yesterday. I really need to start getting some more quality hubs written.

I started writing a reply to this and got so long winded that I turned it into today's hub instead.

Fantastic news. Yes HP$$$ is the easiest that I've found on the net in 10 years. You will be truly surprised in a year what it can add up to.

    Pcunix,

Ive been here two months, gotten around $3.50 in Adsense so far and just a day ago finally broke my Amazon cherry smile

The only decision I am ruing is looking at this site 9 months ago and joining only 9 weeks back. I am seeing massive growth here than I have with all my sites and efforts elsewhere combined.

With Adsense, I initially saw only pennies dripping in, and now seeing that almost daily with an occasional big hit here and there.

I know it will wax and wane over time, yet as time passes, so will the growth and income.

Yep, pretty much enjoying it here too.

Well done and keep it up !!!!

Sounds like my own regret...I actually joined two years ago, but have only been doing much in the past five months, and only in the past two months have really started putting effort into optimization and promotion. This month I doubled last month's Adsense income...I'd LOVE to see how many more times I can do that!

This thread is SO exciting and encouraging for people like me who have no other sites and experiences to use in assessing the performance of HubPages.  Thanks for sharing the info and perspective.  And congratulations to all!

It's all lies.  The staff at HP has been sending  us special "vitamins" and we foolishly took them.

No, really: this place is great.  It really is.
