To me, true success means to be able to do what I want where I want and when I want. It is the freedom of choice, and the peace of mind that this is the right way to go about it.

Success to me, means being free to truly make ones own choices come true...

Sure, this isn't accomplished solely by money, but money certainly helps attain the goal ^_-

Freedom.  Freedom to work when I want to - which ends up being many more hours than a job would, but I do enjoy what I do, so that's ok.

Freedom to wake up to a gorgeous day and just take the day off to enjoy it.

Freedom to turn down work from companies whose politics I detest.

    It's all about freedom.

Success to me means financial freedom.  It does mean that I need millions of dollars.  I just need enough where I can live each day not worrying about where my next meal is going to come from.  I do not need to worry about any bills because I can pay them. If the car breaks down, I can get it fixed.

It just means that I have enough resources to face anything that life can throw at me.

To be able to teach someone else a skill and over time, they learn that skill and use it better than I did or in a way that benefits in ways I never dreamt of.

As a business owner, success to me is providing a good work environment to our employees, and providing services that our clients find valuable.  When I went into business, my belief was that I had an obligation to those who work with and for me as well as for the communities we serve.  I still feel that way today.

Success to me mean three things:

      1. I'm doing work that I love and that pays the bills.
      2. I have an awesome relationship with my family and friends.
      3. I'm in excellent health, which in turn allows me to accomplish Numbers 1  through 3.

Anything else is just extra. But it's nice to have the extra stuff smile

hopefully every single persons answers are different, as we all have different value systems, or a hierarchy of values, (what is most important, to least important) and all us us are equally successful, according to our unique values. for me getting paid to do what i love has been super rewarding, but a perfect day for me is snow skiing with my girls, including my wife. Since i have made more than most dream of in business, that i started from zero-a big house and fancy car is NOT success, or lots of money.  smile

To me, the word, "success", really does mean achieving a certain level of income (provided it's been earned by the individual, himself); or it can also mean reaching a certain level of notable achievement in one's field. In my own "definition" of "success", though, one important thing is that a person has legitimately earned what he has achieved - not cheated or scammed his way to it.  To me, true success can never involve compromising solid values.  Whether someone is a "success" also has to do with how far he gets himself from some "lesser place" in life.

I don't, though, equate "success", with having a happy life, being happy, or having any number of the other things (besides achievement and a certain level of wealth/being financially comfortable) that are important in life.

To me, there's "general success in life" (as described above), but there's also being successful in other areas of life (but not particularly being "A Success".  To me (and a lot of others) being a "general success" (capital "a" and "s", A Success) isn't always, or doesn't always have to be, the most important thing to a person or a life.  It's an extra thing and a nice thing - but not the most important. Still, I don't see a problem with, and am at peace with, the idea that the phrase, "A Success" applies to money and/or achievement and may or may not include being a success in other areas of life.  hmm

Success for me isn't about making money, running my business, or accolades. It's about going to bed each night knowing I have tried to help people each day.

I will never have any money. I give away more than I can afford now. It doesn't matter as long as its helped someone not do without food, shelter, or someone who cares.

I guess that means success for me is about giving. The more that is given the better I feel. Its also about who receives what I give also, they are people who really would do without if they didn't have help.

nice-like i said, everyone is equally successful as all of us are subject to the same set of universal laws-what we think about most in our inner most dominant thoughts, determines our outer most tangible reality-that applies to "good and bad" things equally. tough pill to swallow for most

I think success for me is not only about achieving my goals, but it also includes maintaining healthy and happy relationships, and also includes giving service to a well deserving cause.

nice-all of us will describe different formulas as of the seven areas of life we have different values. relationships are a social value. giving service is a spiritual value. those values were determined by a "void" in your childhood and will remain in the hierarchy for your value system your whole life. all of us have events that did the same. nice you know "who you are"!
