An article of mine violate hubpages terms of use

   I have this message on the following article
   
   Enjoy the Benefits of Home Brewed Beer and Liquors
   
   It has been one hubpages since march 2008 and I have done nothing to it that I can see since that time
   
   Except to link it to another article on another site  for how to give good head on beer.
   
   Yes it could be taken the wrong way but that link has been there for 6 months and there is a technique for pouring a good with a good head on it.
   
   If they had objected when that article was first written without the.. on beer....then I could understand.
   Do you think it warrants these messages below.
   
   This Hub violates the HubPages Terms of Use.
   This hub needs to be revised before it can be published.
   
   As I said it has been there for six months or more.

      It's not really got anything to do with how long the hub has been published - it can take some time for the filters to pick up dodgy phrases. Remember though, it's a computer program and can't read context.
      
      The best thing to do is contact hubpages. They might just republish the hub for you or they might say that the offending phrases need to be changed.
      
      It might be better to say "get a good head on beer", rather than "give good head"

   From the AdSense Policies Page.  The rules got expanded and clarified earlier this fall:
   
   Sites with Google ads may not include or link to:

       * Excessive profanity
       * Hacking/cracking content
       * Gambling or casino-related content
       * Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia content
       * Sales of beer or hard alcohol
       * Sales of tobacco or tobacco-related products
       * Sales of prescription drugs
       * Sales of weapons or ammunition (e.g. firearms, firearm components, fighting knives, stun guns)
       * Sales of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods
       * Sales or distribution of coursework or student essays
       * Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails
       * Any other content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others
   
   I would think it's the fact that the Hub is about beer, and not the slight innuendo that is getting you in trouble.

      That's interesting Relache. That explains why one of my hubs just had ads disabled again even though they had been allowed on moderator review. Oh well....

   Thanks for your  help,  although I wasnt selling anything.  And as I said the hub had been there since beginning of 2008 nearly 3 years.
   
   But  thanks for your help.  To save hassles.  I have fixed the problem by deleting it completely.  So that saves me having to alter anything and was a much easier option.  It wasnt a big item so no hassles.

      Since it hasn't been deleted yet, here's my advice:
      
      1. Quick, undelete it!
      2. Don't waste the three years of lovely aging you have on it!
      3. Leave the Adsense off (I have a couple of hubs like that.)
      4. Add some Amazon capsules with items such as home brew kits.
      
      I'm sure you're getting at least some traffic and you may as well make the most of it!

         Please note that the Google TOS also include the phrase "or link to." Since that hub is part of HubPages with links to other hubs and links from other hubs (in the related hubs section, for instance), I would not advise that.
         
         If you want to write stuff that isn't Google Adsense compliant, it should be on a site that doesn't in any way link to sites that rely on G. Better safe than sorry.

            Alright, point taken Nelle. But in that case, what about the (probable) hundreds of hubs on the site with Adsense disabled (I have two, I know someone else has a suicide series, and so on).

               I may be wrong but I think that ads will appear during Hubpages share of impressions even if adsense is disabled.

                  When you disable ads, admin can tell which Hubs those are, and I'm pretty sure they check to make sure everything in in compliance with being able to be ad-free.

   I think that Relache has it right
   
   I have a few hubs about Ouzo and stripped out all of the links to distilleries (most of which offer Ouzo for sale!) - I have had no problem with the filters.
   
   It is a strange one because, according to the Google TOS, linking to a site selling wine should be no problem unless, of course, they class wine as hard liquor.
   
   Perhaps you should put the article on the Australian version of Hubpages, where it is against the TOS to not link to sites selling beer

      thanks sufidreamer ,  yes I will do something with it as it was easier to delete than mess about.  I can understand where they are coming from.
      
      Many year ago you could not advertise alcohol places on our TShirts for any motor sport.  We raced go karts and it was a no no.
      Those rules have now changed you can.  But that is life.  I will put it on another site that does nothave that problem  Thanks anyway.
      It alway a learning curve and we keep on learning when writing thats what keeps it more exciting.

   I had a Hub on the FDA report that came out about toxins being found in e.cigarettes.  I didn't think anything about it.  I just wrote the Hub because it's something that came out by the FDA.  Not long after that Amazon stopped sales of e.cigarettes, and it hit me that even if I was far from promoting smoking (real or electronic) cigarettes of any kind, maybe it could be questionable in some eyes just because it was about e.cigarettes at all - so I deleted it.  It had a bunch of comments, and some of them had people saying how they're "rather smoke real cigarettes" or else how "wonderful" e.cigarettes are.  I don't want to take any chances even with something that Google mentions at all.     It's not worth it to me.

   Thanks for trying but the adsense wasnt worth that.  The article that I wrote that this one was linked to originally caused the problem (it was done for fun and had heaps of views) on infobarrel.
   
   so I renamed it and linked this article to it.  But neither were money earners. Nor were they selling alcohol. But I will relink them together over there.
   
   Amazon not real good for me as too hard to spend the money as I live in Australia and most of their items they do not ship here. I go back and forth and get to the shipping and then they say cannot ship. It took me ages to buy a couple of things.

   I think that HP is wrong about allowing them. I have sites that don't comply with the TOS and they are kept completely isolated from the my adsense sites.
   
   But I also wouldn't allow any of the sexually explicit topics in the forums as well - for that very reason. Sometimes those topics do end up on hubs.
   
   Perhaps HP has special dispensation because they're so big. I guess, I'm banking on adsense not taking away my account, if they're upset with HP or another hubber.
   
   I guess I posted here because I know a lot of hubbers never bother to read the TOS of anything and I didn't want them to do this on their own site, where they mix okay content, with not okay content.

   Thanks for your help,  yes it is funny how some things are ok and some not.  I had a problem sending an email one day because my address is suspect.
   
   Lets face it I cannot change the name of the street.
   For that reason in case it picks this up  I will just say change the p  of pick to d  and you will see the problem that I had....  Funny when you think about it  but at first I was frustrated and kept saying I havent written anything wrong.
   
   Then it hit me what the problem was.... So will know in future.
