So, long story short I was chosen to be a part of the beta for the new HubPages ad program (for reasons beyond my ken) and really want to let everyone know there is nothing to worry about. We're free to talk about it today, and I want everyone here to fully understand what a boon it has been to me.

It made at least as much as my Adsense did before I was enrolled in the program. I was still running my own Adsense ads, so all told I was earning about 40% more from ppc advertising than I was before this began.

I just published a hub going more indepth but I would really love to answer any questions I can about it either here or there. More than anything I wanted to reassure the people confused about the system that it is very easy, very lucrative, and well worth the wait.

Does it force you into Kontera?

Does it have any of those giant, page obscuring pop-overs that have been seen now and then (I assume by accident as HP asked to be notified and send screenshots)?

Wow, I'm gone a week and it seems I've missed a lot! Google SERP slaps on another thread and here a new ad program? Where can I read more about the ad program? I didn't even know they were considering another program! Not that I'm worried smile

Thanks for the news, it's nice to hear that there is still hope to cling to.

I just updated my infamous Hub on Earnings (the one with the poll) to include info and my experience with the beta test for the new ads.

    In short, I like 'em.

No, there are no Kontera-style in-text ads. They look just like Google ads, but with high quality pictures from brand name companies. No ugly google-style text ads either.

Perfect.  I have no reservations and am looking forward to an invite sometime in December of 2013, hopefully sooner smile

      This is sounding great.

Google nerf aside, this site has been nothing but exceeding my expectations every step.

There are millions of ways to improve, and to me it seems like they are taking all of the right steps. I have plenty of ideas to add, but it seems like they are swamped.

exciting news. are they on all of your hubs or just certain ones?
I checked out the ad programs at their sites and they look so nice, very appealing.

They are all on my Hubs, I am pretty sure.

Maybe we have to log out, it looks the same to me on the couple that I checked. Could be wrong though.

When I logged out I was able to see a fat ad at the top of the screen that was not there. And on the right I notice an Ad from Kodak, which to me is consistent with what you are saying.

Very interesting, very excited about it.

Are the ads placed similar to Google or does HP place them at different strategic places on your page?  I remember once a month or so ago, seeing a nice block ad further down the page in a location I had never seen an ad. But I only saw it once.

I can't find the ads either, all Google. Maybe their check hubbers IP or geographical.

This sounds excellent as it is another good revenue stream especially as it looks like earnings will be down for a while otherwise!

great stuff. I am curious about the metrics.

Is it like the current statistics page or is it more detailed?

Can you see which ads are being clicked from specific pages?

No, the metrics are pretty bareboned to be honest. I included a picture of what they look like in their entirety. You get the date, the number of page views, the CPM, and your daily earnings.

You can search for results by day, week, month, or do a custom search, though.

I was hoping that picture was self-made. Thanks.

I love to analyze data. Lets hope HP will improve that.

Len, no matter how many times I've tried to do the custom search, it turns up zilch.

And the custom reports are now working!  Yay!

Do you think the program being impression based has more to do with targeted traffic or number of hubs?  Or both?  Or pure luck.. that the ads are showing when we have traffic?

Also, are the same ads on all hubs, or are they targeted towards keywords as with AdSense ads?
