It's definitely not a site belonging to CP.
Some of us have known about it for weeks.
LOL - There I am complaining about social networking sites and the first hub I made, which has had about 200 views in 6 months was, I guess, visited by a stumbler who liked it and has had 900 visits today from stumbleupon.
- I only just noticed.

If they like what they see - it does. I have had posts with 20,000+ visits in a day - If they don't like it, that's it, they hit they stumble button and off they go. But you pretty much have to write stuff directly aimed at them. This is the first time I have had any interest from them for a recipe.
SunSeven is good with stumbleupon - take a look at some of his hubs - if you are looking for traffic from them, it has to be the right stuff.
Also, if they find it themselves and one of them submit it, you get much more traffic.
Personally, I think it's a waste of time. Like I said, 300,000 visits over a couple of months, and almost no income. I guess you need to be selling the right stuff too.- ysdataposted 16 years ago0

Three days ago the site got zero new Hubs. Within last two days there has been about 40 new Hubs submitted

It's great to see lot's of new users and Hubs but please do not submit more than 3 Hubs per day and more than 6 Hubs per week. Also would be great if you give votes to other Hubs.

Like I said about these social network sites - I prefer to spend my time working on ways of getting well targeted search engine traffic. I would rather have 10 visitors from google than 1,000 from stumble upon. A lot of people seem to not care where their traffic comes from and see it as some sort of success when they have a couple hundred stumble visitors. The truth is that stumble will send hundreds of thousands of visitors if you hit them just right - that omelet recipe has had 2,000 visits in 2 days, but I doubt it will translate into income.
I am not so sure about this tophubs site - I don't see the point and it will probably end up like mahalo or any of the other social network sites.I guess it depends on what you are "writing" - "hot pictures of semi naked Indian chicks" will always have more votes than "finding foreclosure properties," so it may be useful for those kind of hubs?

Traffic from other sites
One of my hubs recently got a small flurry of hits from stumbleupon.com. Can someone tell me how and why that occurred on that hub -- and not on any other? Are you supposed to be signed up such groups to draw their readers?

Stumbleupon has stopped letting me add my Hubpages links
I was getting quite a bit of traffic from Stumbleupon, but the last while I notice it hasn't been accepting my submissions from Hubpages. They say that it's to prevent people from abusing the sytem and just promoting one site all the time. Does anybody know of a way around this?
