Wings would be great.  Since we would have to work at going everywhere by flying we would burn a lot of calories.  The human race wouldn't be nearly as heavy as we are today.

We would also save on gas since we could fly therebye using less oil and polluting the air far less too.

I think it might be more convenient to have wings instead of arms. Not sure how we'd maneuver when we weren't flying; with no legs. But, if I could fly; I'd save money on gas commuting to work.

Why do we have to have "instead of" anything...  hmm    Can we have arms, legs AND wings?    If we can, then I'd fly with my wings.  If we have to have "instead of" - I'll pass, thanks.

We would surely save on gas and probably our progress would have taken a different direction. BUT if I would be given wings now, I'd fly away from my job in a heartbeat and take a flight around the world lol.

Knowing human nature like I do ; I think man would only screw that up too! He would evolve chickenlike and neither fly right..... nor walk right!

Wings would be wasted on this obese nation, no one could get off the ground. Those who did manage to leave the ground would leave skid marks everytime they landed. Buffalo wings probably wouldn't be near as popular at bars as they currently are. Masterbation would also lose it's popularity as all those feathers would tickle way too much. Federal regulations regarding flight would have exploded with the patiot act and free flight would be a thing of the past.

Unfortunately, I imagine if I had wings,
    I'd wish I had legs.

We always want what we do not have.

I used to fly a lot in my dreams. It was so natural. I just used my hands as wings. It is a sensational feeling. I wish we really could fly. May be we could in our distant past, who knows? May be we will when we master the gravitation.

I lived in NY and while waiting for the train, on a very cold winter day...I saw pigeons roosting...I remember thinking..."the fools why don't they fly away?"

If I had wings, I certainly would get away from cold weather, pronto!
