I just got an email from Youtube that some of my videos may be eligible for Adsense. I logged in (not using the link provided just in case) and was able to 'add' my adsense to my account.
Has anyone had any success with Youtube videos? I only have two so far - and they are connected to a couple of hubs, so it'll be interesting to see how I can monetize them and perhaps create more videos!
When I create new videos, do I have to wait until they begin to receive traffic?
I do, but haven't earned more than about a dollar. Unless you get a "viral video" don't expect much from Adsense on YouTube.
I put a few videos on advertising my site and my paperdoll website that is in progress. I should update one with new info
Hey SimeyC, I only know one person off hand who was invited like yourself and she no longer comes to the forums. I know she is presently trying it out, but I have no clue on her results so far.
I wish I had more for you.
Thanks! I'm a little concerned that Youtube may be more open to 'fraudulent' click patterns so I'll have to monitor very carefully and remove ads if things look weird! I don't get that many hits on my videos - perhaps 20 a day, so I don't expect big things anyway!
I posted a couple of videos on Youtube a long time ago and out of the blue a few weeks ago and received an email saying that my account was approved for monetization.
I wasn't sure why they approved me until I started looking at the stats on my videos. Apparently over time they gained a significant amount of exposure and views.
I turned ads on for a couple of my videos and the conversion rates have been pretty good. Like anything I'm sure it depends a lot on topic, etc.
The requirements are somewhat strict, basically if you don't have rights to all of the content in the video then you can't place ads on it.
Thanks! I'll have to read the fine print! I'm basically demonstrating how to use a piece of computer software.... will have to see if that infringes copyright at all!
I received an invitation from YouTube a few weeks ago also. I don't have many videos up yet, but it seems as if I make a few cents a day. I guess it adds up. I am planning to put more videos up and see what happens then.
I just got an invite and only have one video up so far. Too early to say how well it works.
I got an email too, about a week ago. I am trying it out on one of my uploads...time will tell I guess.
I was invited to link my Adsense and Youtube accounts earlier this year, because one of my videos reached over 1000 views in 24 hours. This was because it was about a current natural disaster, after the news died down, so did the views. Occasional I get impressions on it but I tried to get other videos to become popular but it is hard to achieve 1000 views in 24hours. Therefore I have focused my energy on my web consultancy
Adsense only gets added to videos with more than 1000 views in 24 hours.
I've had YouTube videos get accepted with Adsense with much less views than 1000 in 24 hours around 30 to 40 views. I think it's a new thing that YouTube are doing now enabling video ads on regularly updated channels, I now post videos every other day or so and the earnings are rising all the time!
I haven't been on my channel recently, too busy with other projects!
I heard you get the invite from YouTube for monitization after 6000 views. Not sure if that's for channel, or for a single video. And I'm not sure it's true at all.
I got the same invite..added it and have made 1 dollar so far!!! Woo Hoo!
I got the invitation too and am giving it a go with some of my videos but thought it seemed ridiculously strict about what is OK in terms of rights. It made me realise that a majority, I would think, of videos on YouTube do not comply with these restrictions. For some reason I have never had much success with traffic or subscribers at YouTube so was a bit surprised they invited me. I need any and all money I can get though so am giving it a go!
I got the invitation, but have yet to even see an ad appear on my videos. I do not have high hopes for this, but thought I would give it a try.
I must have missed my email invitation. I just went on YouTube and saw that it was there. Signed up and I am on it. I haven't made any videos targeting traffic and I don't think I have made a dime.

I have heard a rumor that Hubpages will allow us to publish videos here. I am extremely excited about this. As I have been planning to go to video on youtube. With this news, it has gotten me 20 times more excited! If this is coming soon, I am not even worried about the minor nerf Google gave us....

If you think of all the Youtube videos on hubpages it equals a lot of impressions. That's millions of impressions that Youtube is getting for free. Because almost every hub on here has Google ads, it would make sense for Youtube to kick back some of the impressions that its Youtube...

How many views a day should a first YouTube video get?I know that it will depend on many things, but on average, if a person does not have any subscribers, how many views a day is a good sign?

This morning I found that ALL of my Youtube videos are no longer functioning. When I tried to add a new one, I am told "You have opted out of Youtube. Update your cookie settings here." When I click on the "here" nothing happens. When I checked my Firefox settings I have not...

I am absolutely distraught. Some of my best hubs contain youtube videos. I have found that anyone logged into hubpages can see my videos without any problem. Today my Dad happened to be looking at my hubs and said "there are no videos here". Stunned, I went onto hubpages and logged out of...
