Thought I'd ask because I've noticed many published hubs that recommend the use of Twitter to help you with Hubpages.
After the Hub is published, you can click on the share button with Facebook or Twitter. If you click on Twitter, you just sign in and Tweet! I get some good traffic from Twitter. Same with FB, just click on FB, and if you have an account with them, do the same thing.
I almost have 1,200 followers now.

Twitter works really well for bringing traffic. People who don't have HP accounts follow me using Twitter. So it allows non-Hubbers to follow you too. Just remember to tweet each Hub when you publish them.
Right, Glenn and I always "hash tag" my topic when I Tweet. Seems to get more traffic. I do get more traffic from Facebook, though.
That's very worthwhile indeed Mary. I even go a step further. I first browse Twitter to see what hash tags people are using within the subject I wrote. Then I include those hash tags in addition to the #hubpages tag.
My Twitter account is ICTGuy2
Marry, hash tagging is great way to bring traffic to your post, very nice idea I remember that on one site you could track about what people is twitting at the moment, so good hash tag in right time could bring descent amount of traffic
@TrentAdamsCA
I think Twitter helps with traffic. I'm pretty new to it, so I don't have many followers yet. I started getting more followers when I learned to use hash tags.
Two of my hubs were featured in online publications -- I found that out in the @mentions tab. The publications used my pic and the intro of each article with a link to my tweet with my HP URL, so it was great free exposure, as these publications have much larger followings than I do. Also, EarthNews has retweeted me twice -- it has more than 2,000 followers. So, for anyone new to Twitter -- even if you're just starting out, you can get attention.
Use the short version of your HP URL so you have more room for hash tags.
Thanks! I never knew that it can pull such high volumes of traffic like that. Thats really amazing to here. Thanks again, HikeGuy! Your opinions always do tend to help me out. I appreciate it, seriously!
You're welcome. It was a revelation to me, too. I'm always under deadlines, and I'd tried Twitter a couple of times in the past and just didn't "get" it. I finally started making a habit of it, and I was blown away a few days ago when I discovered all that free exposure. As others have noted elsewhere, it's important to have balance in your tweets -- avoid being solely into self-promotion. GreekGeek wrote a helpful hub on Twitter recently.
I have more followers on Twitter than I do here -- they've doubled in about two weeks. It's tricky to get personality into such short messages, but it's worthwhile. Go for it!
Wow. Thanks everyone. I added most of you on twitter and some of you added me as well. Everyone else are still welcome to post there twitter profile.

I joined up with Hubpages a week ago, originally just to build links to a website I started 2 months ago. Now I'm enjoying Hubpages and the freedom to write about other topics that interest me and have adsense and amazon earnings as well.As for promoting websites, I haven't used Facebook or Twitter...

Hello. I've been researching Twitter recently but a lot of the information I've found seems to be dated several years ago already so I'd like to ask for some recent information. Is Twitter still a good site for backlinks and traffic? Is it really effective? Does it work? How many times a day should...

Do you or anyone you know NOT have a Facebook or Twitter nowadays because they choose not to?Everyone nowadays has a Facebook or Twitter -- myself included. So who doesn't?

Earlier I used to hit the tweet button as soon as I published a new Hub no matter what time it was. Not any more. I realized that timing is the key on Twitter. If you tweet in the night when most of your followers are asleep or early in the morning when they are busy with their motions your tweets...

Why is there no longer an option to share Hubs on Twitter? It looks like it's been replaced with Flipboard, which seems like a weird choice.

Do you tweet your Hub articles? If so, how often?
