What do you guys do to maintain a positve attitude?

   I am a strong believer in keeping a positive attitude no matter what the situation. I believe that having a negative attitude or reaction will not help any situation.
   
   So just wondering if you guys have certain things or old stand bys that help you to maintain a positive attitude, even when the situation seems negative.

      It becomes easy when you realise how little most things matter.  If you think back to terrible moments in the past they often seem trivial now - and that is how they really are, trivialities. Even ourselves is so insignificant that we really don't matter much more than any thing around us, we are generally less use to the world and its turning than an earth worm.
      
      So just enjoy the good stuff because the bad stuff really doesn't matter much.

   I try and remember "One step at a time". Even if that just means managing to get out of bed... then managing to get the kids fed, and so on.
   
   Also, how will this look when you look back on it in five years? Is it really going to look so big?

      Wow your right Wrylilt, even though it is hard to think so far ahead I can see how that would help to make the present seem a little better when you can think in this way.

   I like to think of myself as Happy Go Lucky... I have this method of coping..everything is only to the count of 3. For example, if i get annoyed with someone or something..i'll just count to 3 and walk away.
   
   If someone upsets me..I'll try to only let it bother me after 3 long breaths....I forgive easily..but I never forget.
   
   Only thing that will get to me is my family's well being...other than that..Life is too short to be crying over spilled milk!!
   
   Oh, and write happy hubs!!

   I kind of "grit my teeth and bear it". I have a high threshold when it comes to tolerance and tell myself everything happens for a reason.
   
   If something goes wrong, its meant to go wrong so that something that's going to go well can happen.
   
   Meaning, if im walking along the side-walk, slip and break my arm, i was meant to fall down at that precise moment, else i would have walked into that moving truck while trying to cross the road and get crushed instead.
   
   I know it sounds weird, but its a form of "Divine Intervention"
   
   When good things happen, its great, but when negative things happen we should be ready for it, face up to it. Bad times NEVER last.

   I appreciate all that I have and cherish my close relationships with others. I do not want for more and am satisfied with my life.
