Three young Brits woke up after a hard night on the town to find they had a fairy penguin called Dirk in their apartment. Apparently the night before they had broken into a zoo on Australia's Gold Coast and swum with the dolphins. Lucky for them they didn't jump into the crocodile pool by mistake!

Have you ever woken up after a big night out to find something strange in your house?
I don't really have big nights out these days (or ever, for that matter ); but a good sized toad showed up on top of my television set once. I thought it was ceramic, or something, and that someone left it as a joke - until it started sticking itself high on all the walls (and everywhere else). It's nowhere near as good as a penguin - but it was memorable enough to me.
Many years ago, when I went downstairs one Saturday morning I found two unknown French men sitting on the sofa and the front door standing wide open. My young flat mate and her friend had brought them back the previous night and then went to bed just leaving them there.
Luckily they were very polite and well behaved (although confused!), as my handbag was hanging off the back of one of the chairs. Choice words were imparted to said flatmate later in the day!
The worst part of the penguin story, is that the three young men just released the penguin into the local canal (where there could have been sharks) rather than taking it back to the zoo or calling an animal rescue centre
Not so good when the ornaments start moving!
I can't say as I've ever had that big of night on the town, but I was sitting at the computer one night and looked into the kitchen to see something odd on the floor. I walked in and turned on the light and found that a giant slug, at least as long as my hand from wrist to tip of middle finger, crawling across the floor. It was about as big around as a hotdog and I freaked. To this day I have no clue how it got in or why I had to use a spatula to move it across the floor to the kitchen door and flick it out(yes I am totally grossed out by slugs).
I can't say that I have! I must lead a very boring life! lol
I had a snake in my house once! It was (only) a grass snake, and my husband (at that time) was at a loss what to do, and tried calming me down with this "only a grass snake" stuff. I didn't buy it and made him get it out of the house! Then I needed a drink!
Snakes. One afternoon our cat began bringing snakes into the house. 3 or 4 of them. All baby copperheads from a nest she had found a few yards from the house.
Excitement that afternoon, but of a kind I didn't need!
I am fine so far, thanks God, but a neighbour of mine woke up one morning with an unknown girl in his bedroom. He was a married man. And his wife wasn't home, being out of town for few days.
And the story can stop here.
But it didn't.
I used to live one story above his appartment, at 6th floor. He came and knock at my door telling me that a rope was hanging from my balcony to his. It was a strange story and it was 6 am. he said he didn't call the police because he was sorry about that girl who, apparently, descended from the 7 floor, using a rope to go down the balconies.
I've had a pony, wild snakes, wild birds, wild squirrels, and wild rabbits in my house...along with a few wild parties (when I was younger).
