The headline of this article caught my eye. I was in Boston the year Rosie Ruiz faked winning the Boston Marathon.
So now Paul Ryan claims he ran a marathon in under 3 hours when he didn't?
Is that a big deal?
How about citing the CBO as having endorsed his budget plan when they did no such thing???
How about the claim further down in the article that
"Realistically, the Romney plan would explode the deficit, not reduce it."
Scary stuff.
Is anyone else seeing naked emperors here?
Or are they streaking to the finish line so fast we can't see them in the blur?

What else would you lie about? Maybe a college girlfriend? lol
GASP! You knew about that? Nothing is secret anymore...
FTR, it only happened once but I managed to untie the super-reinforced lasso and escape with my standard issue Ivy League sweater, wool cap and a corset...oh wait.
And we all know the dog did not eat your homework.
BTW, I read over the weekend that Janna Ryan comes from a staunch Dem family, was something of a civil rights activist in college. Is deliberately staying out of the spotlight. I think that is wise of her!
If not for lies, Ryan wouldn't have anything to say!
Aren't politicians liars by nature? One more lie, it doesn't make a difference! The problem would be to believe that they are genuine and honest!
+ to the multillionth degree! Max, THAT is par for the course, REAL WORLD 202!
If you lie about ending torture and wars, what else do you lie about?
Is that better or worse than lying about starting the wars in the first place?
Just curious.
Who lied about starting what wars? Before you answer, please remember that Congress approved any military action. Bush did not lie, he was either outright lied to by intelligence sources who had previously been pretty accurate, or their source was not reliable, or, and here's a thought, everyone was right and those weapons were shifted across the border. Might explain the sudden cache of chemical weapons that Syria now has hey? Just a thought.
Mighty Mom: why the hell are you defending one liar while calling another person a liar.
Both parties are sleaze bags, and you're just in a deluded state of mind.
Wake up.
Are we really concerned about Ryan's exaggerating about his marathon time? What about Obama's lies? And even though I like her, Hillary lied in the last campaign, too - about the sniper fire thing. And Biden has lied AND plagiarized. Politicians lie - it's in their genetic makeup. lol
I don't care about Ryan's silly lie about his marathon time. I care about his extreme views, which he is now trying to downplay in an effort not to alienate sane people.
Well, Lies=Ryan seems to be a building trend.
Only way I can possibly defend the bankruptcies statements is that Ryan, like Romney, believes that corporations are people. People = corporations, corporations = people. Therefore, personal bankruptcies = business bankruptcies.
ABC fact checks Ryan's latest prevarications and finds that he's either ignorant, lying or both:
Never has the old adage, "If his lips are moving, he's probably lying," been more true than in the case of Paul Ryan. He was at it again on Sunday, making up numbers and just flat out lying about unemployment and bankruptcies under Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama.
In comparing President Obama to Jimmy Carter, Ryan said in July 1980 the unemployment rate was 7.8 percent and "for the past 42 months it's been above 8 percent under Barack Obama's failed leadership."
... but in July 1983, when Ronald Reagan was president, unemployment was at 9.4 percent. In July 1982 it was higher at 9.8 percent. In July 1992, when George H.W. Bush was president, unemployment was at 7.7 percent.
Is what Ryan said factually correct? Yes, but it leaves out some important data.
Oh, but Ryan was just warming up. What he does next is pull numbers directly from his rectum:
The next statement Ryan made was that in 1980 "330,000 businesses filed for bankruptcy. Last year, under President Obama's failed leadership, 1.4 million businesses field for bankruptcy."
This is not true.
According to American Bankruptcy Institute, under Carter 331,264 businesses and non-businesses filed for bankruptcy.
In 1980, there were 43,694 business bankruptcies and 287, 570 non-business bankruptcies.
Ryan also got it wrong with regard to the number of business bankruptcies last year.
In 2011, there were 1, 410, 653 total bankruptcies.
Of that number 47,806 were business bankruptcies and 1,362,847 were non-business bankruptcies.
Ryan spokesman, Brendan Buck, brushes off the facts:
"He obviously misspoke, but it's still an apples to apples comparison. The point remains: bankruptcies are up dramatically under President Obama compared to the Carter years."
No, it's not true, you lying sack of shit.
By the way, when did business bankruptcies reach their peak? Under Republican presidents, of course, including under St. Ronnie!
Business bankruptcies hit a record 71,549 in 1991, when George H.W. Bush was president, second only to 1985, under Reagan, when 71,277 businesses filed.
And last, but not least, who was president when personal bankruptcies hit their all-time high in the U.S.? Did you guess W? You are correct!
A record number of Americans - more than 2 million - filed for personal bankruptcy in 2005.
Paul Ryan, PRevaricator.
I guess it's good to be relentless about something. But lying? Not sure that helps you, Paul.
@Mighty Mom
You fail to mention that in Reagan did not take Office until January of 1981. He was left with a mess created by Jimmy Carter and the Democrats, and yet, he did not blame them. He set about enacting policies to rebound the nation. The policies did take longer than expected to affect the unemployment rate, that is true, as it reached its peak at the end of 1982 at 10.8%. What you, or perhaps the article you are using as a source (which is biased btw) fails to mention, is that given a year to have an actual effect on the economy, those rates dropped EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY MONTH after December of 1982. And by December of 1983, the unemployment rate sat at 8.3%. By July of 1984, prior to Reagan's bid for re-election, the unemployment rate sat at 7.5%. A continuous and steady decline. This of course, does not even include the other economic indicators that had improved under Reagan's first term. This is why he won his re-election bid by a landslide, because, even though the country was not where we needed it to be, everything was improving. That is not the case under this Administration.
As for the you information on the bankruptcies, could you provide a source please? Because my information from the Department of Justice of the United States is claiming very different numbers. I'd like to see what they are actually counting as businesses and personal as Chapter 7 can be used by both.
So basically what you are saying is that if Obama were a Republican you would have no problem voting for him?
Not in comparison to the lies of Clinton and Obama....does not even register on the scale. ~WB
As someone who follows state and federal politics, I've observed that Paul Ryan is full of lies that are filled with so much bull, we need a whole dump site at worst. At best, he is filled with half truths purposefully intended to lead you astray, and then he can't be called on a lie.
I don't trust anything he says to be the honest to God truth about anything.
It's ok though.
He goes to confession regularly.

My question - President Trump was well known for this statement. "You will get sick of winning." Are you sick of winning? Trump's economy once again this month beats projected unemployment numbers... 18 year low. ...

Why is Brian Williams' lie about being in a helicopter when it was hit by an RPG a big deal?President Obama lies almost every time he opens his mouth. Every week his administration lies about one thing or another, he won the lie of the year for heaven's sake. He and every leader in the Democrat...

Impeachment of a President One would think that the impeachment of a president is not conducive in showing him support.”Give him a chance,” people say. President Obama, to be exact, has been in office for a year now. He has done a lot of damage in that year. I have seen not one promise...
